This is such a lovely store with amazing and kind employees. My dogs love going there for grooming, shoutout to Susan for taking such good care of my pups every time. And to the sweet girl at reception who always gives them cookies and pets them. A place for pets run by pet lovers is where you want to be.

Always the best experience with employee: Unique. She always has the best humor and is always ready to mention any offers and deals going on. Buying food for 5 cats sometimes adds up. Hehehe. I’m so glad she suggested me to sign up for Vital Care, a nice program for your four legged friends’ food and litter discount.You should let me know when you get a green snake. I may be able to convince my wife to get it. Hahah. I don’t think there is a chance but maybe. The pink snake is so adorable. Hopefully someone gives it a home soon.

Groomer: KaylaJust wanted to say that this is the best PETCO out there! This is the first time we’re having a very furry friend in our family, so we were pretty insecure about bringing him to his first grooming. Kayla not only did an AMAZING job grooming our 8yr old dog that had just been adopted, she made us feel super at ease about leaving him there for a few hours, Shelby also really liked her. As an experienced groomer she gave us many leads in how to best take care of his fur. We left the store already scheduled with Kayla for Shelby’s next grooming appointment. They’re super knowledgeable and helpful! We’re definitely coming back! Have pictures of before and after the grooming. We loved our little lion ❤️

Manager is rude.I’ve been there multiple times and she has the same attitude.Wasted my time just to help me pick out fish. Gave me a whole lecture and was rude at it. Insisted I have no return guarantee written on my receipt in case my fish dies! Fish!Wasted about 30mins of my time to help me bag Goldfish.Would definitely be finding a different location.All the ladies there have a nasty attitude and waste time in checking you out even if there’s no line.Find another Petco, better still, go to Petsmart.

Groomer: Pootharuk MFinally!! I found the best groomer in Chicago!! I’ve been here twice for Bear’s grooming and both time she really did great job;) Perfect round, nice and clean short nails and so soft hair!! This time we saw when she cut Bear’s hair and how she treats Bear is really gentle and seems like Bear is comfortable with her.We’ve been the other petco(3046 N Halsted st, you can see my review how my dog looked like) and some places..But now I can take Bear at ease because she is so reliable:)Thank you and see you next time!!

Very poor customer service 😢 it was 2 of us waiting at the register to check out. The salesperson was in eye shot of us, and she continued to talk to a customer for 15 minutes while we waited. Didn't apologize for making us wait.

I'm a regular customer at this location but had a disappointing experience today. I had to make a return of almost $100 worth of food because I have a picky cat. I unfortunately lost my receipt and the cashier refused to use my phone number or account to look up my transaction saying they need a paper receipt.I'm glad I did not take her word for it and tried the Petco on Pulaski and Lawrence who confirmed they are able use my phone number for my rewards account to give me a refund. They made my day and I recommend everyone to go to the Petco on 4840 N Pulaski Rd instead of this one on Western.

Stopped on to see about a vest/coat for our lab/pit. Found various sizes plentiful and bought a flannel pajama looking cover-up as well as a cute yellow raincoat.The store staff were WONDERFUL. got some great advice on a couple of health supplements and got help with a comfortably made harness. Before now, because our pup has a deep chest, most harnesses would not fit logically. But for the store associates help, we would not have found this.Of course, had to grab a couple squeaky toys by the time we got to the check out.Thank you Petco for your help!

*Update* The manager is very communicative and respectful. He was able to provide adequate service and ensure that he got the stock he needed for me to purchase. I really appreciated his patience. The store seems to have gotten stock updates and new animals. ALL that I would like to say is that you please keep up with the cleanliness and contentment of your animals.Terrible upkeep of the store/inventory. The bird cages were filthy, the other animals are downright neglected/depressed looking. Upon entering the store, employees are playing around screaming at each other. I was there for two items, one of which I found easily a net for cleaning my tank the other item was not available but the manager was of NO ASSISTANCE I had to explain several times what item it was with so much patience I had to let him know I was not able to wait any longer for a item.I have been to this location several times, out of connivence, and each time the upkeep/inventory of the store not to mention the unprofessionalism would keep anyone away.

Decent layout- only problem is that it seems like there’s no employees in the store and the 1 employee visible stays behind the register the entire time despite making eye contact and recognizing that you might need some assistance. It’s a shame too- only store with a decent aquatic section in the area.

!!!SELLING SICK FISH TO THE PUBLIC!!!"They really need to clean the fish tanks" and remove all the dead fish that may cause disease IN UR FISH,in my experience I spent almost 100$ in sick fish, EXCEPT FOR THE TIMES WHEN NEW FISH ARRIVED it's the perfect time to get a new fish other wise they will get sick in those dirty tanks.

Came in for Tortoise food. They even have a fridge selection for more luxury treats for my Tortoise which was cool. As I was walking around I stumbled and nearly tripped over a big marketing sign probably 5ft long laying in the middle of a walkway.They have what you need. Not an extensive selection. Tidy up the store and I’ll change to 5 stars.

My name is Denzel Kirby and I was at the petco on western and greenview on October 25 around 2:20pm or 2:30 pm to buy dog cage and a feeding mouse from the time I come in the store to the time I left the store I was been followed by one of the female workers and I was denied my service and I was told that I can’t buy the dog cage that seen on the self because it was a liability for my dog but when I ask why and how is the cage a liability to my dog the man couldn’t give me a answer he told me he do not no and the man who denied me my service and would let me buy the cage his name was George

My husband and I were second in line. We were trying to buy 3 cans of cat food. The cashier wasn’t there when we walked up. She showed up and I guess she had to get change to give to the customer in front of us. After she finished with that customer she said to us she’ll be back and walked off. We waited 4-5 minutes and just left. Horrible customer service. I didn’t get her name, she was small, blond/brunette mixed hair, and rude.

awful customer service. manager Ashley treated me with disrespect and disdain bcs I’m asian. she refused to sell me a fish tank and fishes even though I explained her that I’m experienced in keeping fish tanks and I already have one. never go to this store if U don’t want to face racism
