6.5 hr grooming appointment. Asked for my dog not to be shaved I came to pick my unevenly SHAVED dog. Not super nice when I asked where the break down in communication was. Then I received a super passive aggressive text. If it wasn’t for the super nice ladies at the cash register I would have completely flipped out. They are truly the ones that deserve my tip. Cause even after all of the issues I still tipped.

The grooming department at Petco on Halsted does an excellent job. Friendly team and very caring with our dog Sunny. She gets her nails trimmed and ears cleaned here every month or two. Highly recommend!

Such an amazing grooming service we got today for our golden doodle! Can’t thank enough for the Manager Sanela, who accommodated our last minute request to give a hair cut for our 3 year old pup. I will highly recommend Sanela for the amazing job she did to our goldendoodle though he was matted at some areas, she did take time to deep condition and demat him for such a reasonable price. Thank you Sanela for being very nice and taking care of our dog really well. We’ve already decided to go to the same groomer hereafter.

Took my puppy for grooming, and 3 or 4 days later discovered scabs on her skin. They cut my puppy’s skin without informing me when I picked her up, probably used glue or liquid bandages to cover it up. My puppy was screaming in the car on the day of grooming and had stress-induced bloody diarrhea at night. I can’t imagine what my puppy went through. Definitely won’t come back!!!

The store was organized and clean. Pets on a leash are encouraged to visit. I bought a cloth neck collar with bells. Prices were reasonable.

Just moved to the Lakeview East area and I'm so deeply grateful 🙏 for the convenience of having this petco so close to me.I've been able to find almost everything I need for my pets here except for my extremely high maintenance mainecoon who prefers certain brands of food we truly can't find here.A few days ago I popped into the grooming department and asked one of the groomers for help with my great pyrenees puppy. He definitely needed a knot removed from behind his ears and a deep cleaning, a good comb through and a nail clipping. I asked her approximately what the fees would be and the length of time for his grooming services. She assured me it would take around a "couple of hours" and said they could use a special machine or clipper for the knot of hair behind his ears.Yesterday I dropped him off close to 11 AM and spent my day working and doing light errands nearby. I called them at around 2ish and was told by a staff member here that it would take another 40 minutes. So at 4pm they left me voice messages when I was in transit and I went back to my apartment to grab Troika's leash and collar since they don't hold your pet's leashes there for you.I get there and he looks absolutely stunning-- I mean literally he looks like a Show Dog quality 😍I asked them why it took the whole day and one of them mentioned they have Express pick up for about $15 more 🙄 so they get your dog in and out much faster. Now had I known ahead of time I would have gladly paid the extra $15 so I could have had my dog back much sooner. So now you know!Also the knot behind my dog's ear is still there. After paying $100 my dog still has that stubborn knot behind his ear that I had mentioned to one of the groomers that 😑 he needed to have removed.I checked out and didn't mention this 😐 asked for a couple of poop bags from the cashier since I forgot to bring some with me and the cashier with the cute bird on his shoulders told me where to find some to purchase instead of just letting me have a couple for free. I asked again and he gave me a couple and upon check out asked me if I'd like to leave a tip. I wasn't super happy about the 5 hour wait to get Troika back or the knot behind his ear so no I didn't feel compelled to leave a tip.Don't get me wrong here-- the staff here are great 🙂 and super friendly and Troika looked absolutely gorgeous but c'mon why on Earth didn't someone tell me about the express service option and how come they didn't clip out his stubborn knot of hair?Leaving this feedback for the staff and I absolutely appreciate all of you ❤ but I have to leave constructive feedback because after spending $100 I should not have to worry about dealing with his knot that they left behind. I'm going to be extremely careful this afternoon and comb out the knot myself.

Had my dog groomed and a day later, she has kennel cough! They clearly don’t take pet safety or cleanliness of their spaces seriously. Now I have to pay a high vet bill to get her better.

Please DONT TAKE YOUR CAT HERE FOR NAIL TRIMMING!!!!the usual place we go to couldn’t take our cat until March 9. So we decided to come here expecting a good experience but that was not what we got. First of all our cat was very they were. They seem to be very rough with him and making him squirm in his at them. By the way, our cat never hisses, and is really affectionate and loving. he was squirming the whole time and they were being really rough and they put this ball on his head to stop him from biting and overall they were just being rough with cutting his nails. The whole time he looks scared, when, at the other place, we go to he was still, completely calm, and was not moving around.

STAY CLEAR! PARASITES!!Bought a blow-up collar for my dog after her acl surgery. I get home and take it out of the box and start to blow it up only to realize not only is it not blowing up but it's already dirty and covered with hair.. Upon further inspection I realized the collar is covered with worms/parasites. I go to return it and the employees were disgusted and ready to give me some preventive heart worm medication for free... Only the manager.. ROB.. didn't want to give it to me for free. ROB also tried telling me it was a sead and not worms/parasites. The spineless manager couldn't be more dismissive of the issue at hand and deserves to be fired as he had zero compassion for my animal and the disgusting product they sold me. Eventually the other employees convinced him to give it to me for free. PLEASE CHECK ALL PRODUCTS LEAVING THIS STORE FOR WORMS AND PARASITES. I will not be returning to this disgusting branch of petco ever again. I would rather go to a newer branch that's worm free with managers who have common sense.

Worst petco branch. Never going back. Very dirty environment and rude workers. Took my puppy for grooming here. They kept him in a dirty cage for 6hrs. My puppy had a stress induced diarrhea and had to be taken to an ER

This would actually be a two-star location if the staff weren't as knowledgeable as they are about caring for pets. I suppose if you know exactly what you are looking for, and the store has it in stock, it's "average." But it's in a cramped parking lot, the store always seems very dim and in disarray, and I've never had an in-store pickup for an online order go smoothly here. There are better pet stores, but not near this particular location.

Getting any kind of feeder insects here is a headache. Came in on Friday to pick up crickets, came in late because I know they get the shipment that day, only to see all the crickets still in boxes on the floor by the register (I could hear them chirping). The staff member at the desk said he was scared of crickets and wouldn't process them and they were short staffed, so I came back on Sunday only to be told all the crickets were dead and they had none. Like what is going on?

It can be really tough to find a review online you trust for a dog groomer, but I write Andrea a great review every few months because she is exceptional and you should take your dog to be groomed by her. She has groomed our cockapoo since she was four months old and done an exceptional job every time. She is great at her work, a kind person, and deserves your business and your tips!!!

Beware placing online orders from this place. Placed an order for pickup but I knew I wouldn’t be able to pickup within the 5 day window, so I called to confirm with staff that I would be picking up at a later date. The young woman I spoke to confirmed that it was fine, and that my order would be there.When I arrived to pickup my order my items were not there. I was then informed that my order had been “canceled” despite never being notified. Management then instructed me to just repurchase my items but when I mentioned I had already paid, I was basically accused of demanding items for free, which was totally unprofessional. The only solution that was given was to call customer service.When I contacted customer service they told me that the order was NEVER canceled and that my order was listed as picked up, which means either management was lying or they gave my items away. Truly a frustrating experience and waste of time.

Fun store with good variety of pet supplies and small pets (fish, gerbils, Guinea pigs, reptiles, etc). Took my dogs there on a cold day because I couldn’t stand going to the park and they had a great time. The staff was very welcoming and it was nice and clean.

Being a multiple pet parent and recently starting a home aquarium I have come in frequently. The staff is what makes this location so great and especially want to shout out Nora and Robin. Nora has gone above and beyond to give detailed and adequate information on aquatic care. She's an asset to your store and I truly love talking with her. Robin is always so friendly, asks about my animals, and treats you like a best friend.

Love this Petco! I was a loyal Pet Supplies Plus customer due to proximity to my old house when I first adopted my dog, and I was very hesitant to switch to Petco. Over the last year of living in the neighborhood, I have grown to love it here.Their employees are amazing (shout out to Robyn - current hair is blue with braids, but they're always switching it up! Robyn has the best energy and always makes me and my pup feel welcome and happy to be there. They also got me to sign my cat up for the Vital Care program).Both of my pets are enrolled in the Vital Care program now. We love the benefits, like discounts on food, grooming, litter. They also have great post-holiday sales, and my dog is definitely not above having an advent calendar in March, if you know what I mean.Their groomers are excellent as well. I was so nervous to switch groomers with my move, and I love the groomers here. Just make sure to sign up far in advance, since the appointments fill up fast!Love our neighborhood Petco :)

We have two cats and used to shop at PetCo located at 3046 N Halstead St. in Chicago all the time, until today. We are not going to set foot in this store ever again. The reason is Innovative Parking Solutions they employ to enforce their parking policy. I have never in my life dealt with more aggressive, rude, condescending, contemptuous, overzealous, and misogynistic men as those employed by IPS. My husband and I went to PetCo to pick up some cat food. I needed to run across the street to Marshall's to make a return. This is not something I do regularly or have ever done in the past for that matter but I did not think a few minutes would be a big deal, considering we'd just purchased from PetCo and shop there on a weekly basis. What we didn't realize is that there are 2-3 of these IPS hawks, vultures really, parked in unmarked vehicles in the parking lot and watching your every move, ready at any moment to jump out and boot your car. We returned minutes later to find our car booted. We tried to explain the situation to Carlos Garcia ID No. 9799, one of the IPS people, but he wouldn't even listen. He was rude, aggressive, and uncooperative from the start. We then went to PetCo, showed them our receipt (they recognized us from earlier), and asked them to please intervene. They said IPS was a private company and there was nothing they could do. IPS may be a private company but they enforce PetCo's parking rules and trying to talk to them as a business whose rules they are there to enforce might have helped.I hope the Management Team at PetCo reads this review and takes remedial action. Until then I will never shop at PetCo again. If you look up Innovative Parking Solutions, by the way, you'll see that they have exclusively very negative reviews and there are multiple complaints against them on the Better Business Bureau website. Is this a company PetCo wants to associate with and lose business over?

What a wonderful experience with the contact-free curbside pick-up! Placed my order online and was notified within an hour that my order was ready. Pulled up in one of the parking spaces and called the number indicated. Friendly associate came right out to my car and put the order in my trunk. Said my order was fulfilled by Maggie but thank you to EVERYONE there for helping make sure our pets still have what they need ❤️

It's so hit or miss with this Petco. On the one hand for a while new management was good, but we're back to a place where all the feeders are dead, stuff doesn't work, it just feels like you need to call ahead just to make sure they're going to have what you need.

Brought my 3 year old German Shepherd Pup here and got conned! They didn’t even bathe the dog but charged me for it.Management was absolutely no help and therefore I won’t ever be spending a single penny in this establishment ever again.
