Do not buy fish here! Multiple dead fish in every tank. Dead bettas in cups on shelves. Disgusting. Shame on PetCo! Fish are animals too and worth love and care. I can't even imagine what the health of their birds, reptiles, and small mammals are like.I couldn't even find an employee to assist me during my time there, not that I want to give them my money after seeing their aquarium department. The store itself is dirty with many shelves empty, so maybe they're closing.

This is the best place to take your dog because my other bed wanted to put my dog to sleep. My dog is only 10 years old and then to this office on Petco they told me he’s only 10 and they save my life cause I went over there to put them down, do you deny them but take care that they gave my dog and stuff and in the bed does no bacon bacon pay the best. I recommended to everybody everybody should take their dog there.

I took my 4 month old kitten, to the vet for her first series of shots and a wellness exam. I really liked it, my kitten, eh, but it was a vet AND her first visit. The whole store is great. But especially the person checking us in for our appointment, I forgot to get her name, and the technician's too, WONDERFUL people, very knowledgeable, and Dr. Henderson is a really great vet. They are all sooo patient and kind. I highly recommend it.

Petco almost always has what I need. If the store doesn't have stock, it generally takes just a couple days for them to ship it to me. Very quick response to online pickup orders. We've appreciated their rewards program and have saved quite a bit of money over the years.

Fish here are weak and end up dying quickly. Associates are very slow in response. Some of the associates are not friendly. Aquarium here are dirty and not lively. Petco near Devon is much better in taking care of aquarium fish and they are lively.

Vetco was great, they were very helpful and super friendly. The aquatics section on the other hand was terrible. There were dead fish in each and every tank piled up, and the salt water tank was spewing bubbles indicating an empty sump (which can be harmful for the saltwater fish.) I tried to talk to an associate about it but they just told me simply “ok” and then did nothing about it the whole time I was there. I will come back for Vetco but that is it.

The grooming at the Clybourn location is amazing! We have a 2 yr Aussie shepherd who is an absolute maniac. We usually have to drug her the night before and morning of the appointment, as recommended by our vet and other grooming places such as Salon Dog since they were unable to groom her fully without it. Well, not at Petco- they have a policy that you cannot sedate your pet prior to appointment (which we were a little nervous about- she had never been groomed without some sedation before). Melissa did an amazing job and was able to get a mat in a sensitive area that other groomers were not able to get for over a year! Not only that, our Aussie was so calm and not freaked out at all- they did an introduction of sorts to make her feel comfortable and relaxed, and coming out of the salon she did not look as frazzled as she usually does. Her cut was also perfect- this location knows how to groom Aussies (no shaving!!!). I cannot recommend the grooming here enough! Plus we got an appointment within one day, priced at less than our other groomers who do a worse job (most other places need a 3+ month in advance appointment). Thank you Melissa and Petco Grooming for our squeaky clean and beautiful Aussie!

I take my dog to this Petco to see Meg for grooming and I cannot recommend her enough! She always makes him feel so comfortable and does the most amazing job! 10/10 recommend coming here if you’re looking for a great groomer!

The saltwater tanks in this store could be the worst I’ve ever seen. 6 or 8 tanks full of cyano bacteria with fish carcusus littered across the bottom of the tanks. The fish that are alive are swimming sideways and half dead. This is Absolutley horrible. Whoever is supposed to be taking care of these tanks clearly has not even cleaned the glass in weeks. I will never buy anything from this store ever again. Absolutely disgusting and abusive.

I highly recommend Joseph as a groomer! I was nervous to drop my dog off for her first ever haircut since I adopted her, but Joseph was so gentle with her and he had great recommendations for how she should get trimmed! I can tell he was sweet to my dog and he was a pleasure to work with. I will definitely be coming back to him in the future.

Except for the fact that dog food is too expensive -- especially specialized diets like Hydrolyzed Protein -- Petco has great selection and service (this varies by location, my rating is for Clybourn Ave, Chicago).

My heart broke for the reptiles and rodents being kept in tiny, dirty cages. They looked so unhealthy. Made me sick to my stomach to see such animal cruelty. I will never give my business to Petco again.

Great place to get essentials. One of the tall, Caucasian, male cashiers tried to insinuate that I was cheap because I didn’t want to buy the cat food that was going to expire in literally 7 days. So one of his male Hispanic coworkers came up to the register and checked his attitude then checked me out. Very good service 👌🏾

Decent location. Ordered curbside but didn’t matter. No one was picking up the phone so had to go inside the store. What’s the point in curbside pick up option?I completely get that retail gets busy but I walked in and was able to get my things soon as I walked in (no line). Personally, just do pick up. Petco probably needs to revamp their curbside pick up system like Target and other stores have.

on 9/11/2023 we went to the store in Norridge, IL. and bought a couple pairs of pijamas for our dogs, while driving back home we noticed we got overcharged, the tag shows $16.99 and $19.99 and we where charged $24.99 each for a total of $55.23 instead of $40.77. On our way home we stopped at the store #01991 on Diversey Ave. explained the situation and asked to get the difference back. The employee Michael said he would refund me the $55.23 and will ring up the pijamas again. "Refunded" $55.10 because of the difference in taxes charged between Chicago and Norridge and proceeded to ring up the items again for a total of $40.77. Next day while checking my bank account noticed all 3 transactions as charges and "processing" waited til they clear as sometimes they dissapear, well, they didn't. Now I have paid three times for the same pair of pijamas a total of $151.10. On my way home I stopped at the store on Clybourn street since is near where I live and explained what happened, the manager I spoke to was very helpfull and understood what the problem was, unfortunatly she didn't give me the refund because the money was going to come out their store account and not from the one on Diversey sugesting I go back there and talk to Rob about it, she even called to make sure he was going to be there the following monday and sent me on my way. Yesterday I went back to the store and asked for Rob, he was not there. I explained to Gio what the situation was and he went in the office for about 15 minutes coming back saying he couldn't give me the refunds because he cannot verify all purchases were made by the same person, I suggested to check the cameras, we have day and time to facilitate the search, he denied, I found myself explaining I am a business person and not a scammer trying to take advantage of them. I hope somebody from corporate reads this and writes back with a number for me to call so we can take care of this. What a pain.

Best pet store in the area. They take care of their animals here. I bought my green tree frogs here about 3 years ago and they are still kicking and beautiful! Love that this place is across the street from the paws shelter. Friendly service. Above and beyond!

We have taken our Old English Sheepdog to get groomed here twice now (once for a bath/no cut and once for a bath + cut), and they have done an amazing job. Anna R has been the best groomer we have seen since we got our pup. He smells great, leaves happy, and the cut she gave him was just what we were looking for. I know sometimes groomers will just shave your dog even over small tangles, but Anna has always done such a beautiful job brushing our dog out and making him look so handsome! Also, love that you can book online - so easy. Will definitely continue to get our dog groomed here while we live in the city.

This store by on Clybourn has everything I need for my dog: high quality food and treats, a huge selection of toys, meds, lots of gear, friendly employees, grooming, and the BEST dog training with Ducki. We've completed Puppy 1, Puppy 2, Adult 1 and Adult 2 over the past year. We love Ducki's positive training methods and have made huge improvements with her help and guidance. Ducki really cares about you and your dog and works hard to make training enjoyable and successful. I couldn't ask for a better experience.

Groomers at the Clybourn location always do such a great job. Very friendly. Gentle with our senior dog. They listen to our concerns. Haircut always looks amazing. So much better than I could ever do on my own.I appreciate their friendly and talented grooming staff.

I used Petco’s griming services for my dog. They made a mess of him. Their groomer cut him way to short and very uneven. He had random long strands of fur hanging off his ears and snout. He was also very itchy afterward. Lesson learned.
