I've been coming here since I was a little girl and now as an adult I'm grateful for the knowledge and care of the animals they have. I have a live aquarium, one with aquatic frogs and another with mollies and Cory catfish. They have everything you need to have a love aquarium, heaters, and healthy animals. My shrimps already had babies! It's a difference between here a big franchise that actually care enough to keep everything clean and have the knowledge to answer all questions. Highly recommend!

While the fish and birds looked fairly healthy the reptiles are in enclosures far too small. Adult bearded dragons were in max 10 gallon tanks, and a huge mature python was in a tank he barely fit in with his body touching 3 out of 4 sides. All the rodents had dirty, rusty, chewed/scratched corners. There was even a dead mouse sitting out where all the other mice were hidden in their one little log.

Great pet shop. Love all the fish they offer. Lots of exotic reptiles and bugs. Lots of feeder options for your pets. Great aquarium plant selection. Friendly and helpful staff. All the fish I have bought from them have survived. High quality.

All-time favorite pet store!! Staff are always nice and have awesome advice regarding aquarium care :-)Ive gotten albino corydoras and many balloon mollies here, and theyve always been perfectly healthy and social! They take great care of their animals and tanks are always clean 😎Good selection of birds and small mammals too!!! :-)

My wife and I been coming to Jules pet shop since our kids were little babies.Now they are 31 and 26 years old. We kept coming back because of the customer service and the wealth of knowledge when it comes to questions about any pets that’s in there facility of care. We are so grateful to still see familiar faces that’s still around to help us with any of our questions. Went there today with my family to get a guinea pig for my daughter and so happy we did. My daughter loved it! Staff was amazing/super friendly and helped us pick out my daughter's first pet,they definitely made a memory she will remember. Thank you guys. Highly recommend this place.

Had a lot of fun looking at all the animals! Everyone was super helpful on helping us choose our Guinea pigs! Manager was super helpful and funny! Thank you for our babies 💕 Reese’s has two more siblings now, S’mores and Marshmallow (update: we made their cage!)

This place rules! I have been coming here for 15 years and they are always so knowledgeable,I had a mini shark which was staying on the bottom of the tank and I never saw him eating. I brought in my water and this store tested it for free, water was fine.And then their expertise and knowledge came out. They then deducted that his internal "float" bladder burst.AndRecommended I feed in same spot every day. And this is now just his life now. I am happy to take care of him and so grateful for their knoledge here at Jules over the years.

The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. They have a wide variety of exotic pets that a big store wouldn’t even have. I went in for feeder insects and was very happy with the selection (once again putting big stores to shame). The price and quality was very good and I’m definitely going to be looking here anytime my beardy needs something.

Awesome place always has a good vibe Charlie will always take care of anyone from the neighborhoodThey have an decent selection of reptiles,fish ,feeders,birds and are experts in saltwater fish and set up 😁👍🐠(P.s they have frozen/live mice,rats , crickets,goldfish,Rosies,fruitflies)

These people are amazing! All the staff including the owner is so knowledgable and caring about each reptile, fish, mammal. They are accommodating and don't over sell you on anything. You can tell they want whats best for the animal and its new owner. I am always so happy to support small businesses and this one is the best! My kids love stopping by and just seeing whats new, they are so patient and accommodating.

Bought python from here unfortunately he died after the guarantee policy they have the guy was real cool about it and gave me a replacement snake and is going to inform me of what the first snake died from real friendly people

5 stars. I searched for a pet shop that would board reptiles, two red-ear sliders. There was not many. So Jules pet shop was clean and they boarded both turtles for 3 weeks. The turtles were fine and the filters were cleaned. David, the store manager, was real helpful and accommodating. Thanks

It's a small place but they have a lot in there. They have a good selection of small animals, reptiles, and amphibians. They didn't have that much in the way of fish, but the fish they had were affordable. They had a variety of live plants. (plants are a little high priced). Their gravel was very reasonably priced.I bought some tropical fish here, and once I got them home, I realized that at least one has Ich, and another has something around the mouth. I guess I'll treat them and see how it goes. The Ich has happened before, and usually, the fish come out of it fine. So I'm not too worried. I'm a little worried about the other fish with the stuff around its mouth.The person who assisted me was very friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful.I'll probably come back just to visit the little critters with my grandson.

If you want the cheapest price and the customer service is emaculate. They ALWAYS have pets that I can't find anywhere else. If your looking for a new pet, then Julie's pet store is the place to go. I live on the Southside of Chicago and I still go all the ways north to Julie's.

DO NOT BUY AQUATIC PLANTS HERE. They are absolutely infested with scuds and snails. The scuds will take over your tank and are extremely difficult to get rid of. I hate to give this place a negative review because they're nice people but their plants nearly ruined my tank. To this day I still have to suck out tens if not hundreds of them a week.

honestly just tired of the apologies because they’re out of crickets and pinkies. people and their pets are relying on you guys for their food and there’s just no excuse. if you’re constantly running out then ORDER MORE guys it’s RIDICULOUS. it’s EVERY WEEK and no pet should go without because you aren’t properly supplying. food should not be first come first serve while supplies last!!!!!!!

What a rare find in Chicago! Lots of great pet options from birds, reptiles, hamsters, etc. Everything is appropriately priced & their fish selection is impressive. Note: if you come later in the day around 630/7 it’s feeding time for the snakes.

Animals are in horrible condition. They are in tiny cages and almost all of them look lethargic and sickly. Heartbreaking. I saw dead hamsters in the corner of a cage. Do not support!

David the owner and his coworkers are amazing I have been buying animals and animal supplies from them for over 2 years now and they have been amazing when ever I’m short on money they always pay my remaining if I don’t have enough witch I’m more then grateful for today I went there looking for a small tank for my snake but I didn’t have a lot of money so they hooked me up with a ten gallon for free with a lid and I was short a couple cent on my crickets and the coworker payed of my remaining would recommend if looking for a pet store with kind and loving works

I have never seen a pet store with animals in such unsuitable living conditions - it’s like they are trying to cram as many animals in as they possibly can. Far too many animals in far too small of cages. Also, the staff barely had their face masks on in a facility that is very hard to social distance in.
