Every employee goes out of their way to be exceptional. They listen and care, they’re personable and comforting, they’re open outside of the standard 9-5 hours! My first visit was for an emergency. The actual doctor followed up multiple times in the days after to check in and answer any additional questions I might have. I’ve since made it my primary vet and I’m so grateful to have my city kitty in their care.

Our pets have gotten very good care at GoodVets. Its important to us that we have access to Vets who invest in getting to know our pets, first and foremost, but also their keepers. We feel that our care at GoodVets as been very personalized. The expertise and compassion shown by the Veterinarians, particularly Dr. Schauer, is notable and very much appreciated by us.

TL;DR Our dog, Stella, went from being a perfectly healthy, happy, energetic dog to a diabetic, emaciated, almost fully paralyzed dog in one month… all because we took her in to have a hot spot cleaned. She was put to sleep one month after coming to GoodVets. We are writing this so any pet owner never has to experience what we did.We brought Stella in with a hot spot. They had to sedate her to clean it and shave the fur around it, but they did not shave the fur at all. Her fur got matted in the wound again, and we had to bring her back the next day to have her undergo more sedation so they could properly clean it. They put her on prednisone.Within a few days, Stella was drinking much more water than normal and having accidents in the house. We limited her water intake to 3x her normal amount (although she would have drank way more). GoodVets told us this was all normal and it was ok to continue limiting her water. We later found out this was dehydrating her.Two weeks after the hot spot, we found Stella in the middle of the night unable to stand. My wife and I helped her up and she pooped right in front of us. We took her to the ER at 3 am. They said to have her rest and see GoodVets in a week. In the morning we told GoodVets and they agreed. They continued to dismiss our concerns about all of the side effects she was experiencing. We noticed through Stella’s fur that we could feel her bones. She was still acting very weird, so we brought her in the next day. She had gone from 80-85 pounds to about 70 over these two weeks (She was a malamute, so we did not notice her weight loss through all the fur). They still were completely unconcerned. They ran a blood test anyway to alleviate our concerns and found that she had developed diabetes, a known complication of prednisone (Excess thirst and urination we later found out are also side effects of diabetes). Although there is no way to confirm with absolute 100% certainty that the diabetes was caused by the prednisone, it would be a shocking coincidence for Stella to have developed diabetes by chance the same week she went on a drug known to trigger diabetes. She also had never shown signs of prediabetes prior to this (e.g. frequent urination, excess drinking, cloudy eyes, vomiting, increased/decreased appetite, weakness/fatigue, etc.). We were referred to MedVets as an emergency case because they thought she may be DKA. MedVets ran more tests, had us wean her off prednisone, and began Stella on daily insulin.Meanwhile, Stella’s condition continued to noticeably worsen every day. She could no longer use her back legs to stand or walk. We had to carry her and support her for everything from eating to drinking to going to the bathroom. Out of desperation, we took her to another vet that we were referred to. They told us that she was in extreme pain and that if we were able to stop her rapid decline, the best case at this point would be hoping to have her walk on her own again after rigorous physical therapy (and that was a complete uncertainty). We felt that was an unfair choice to make for her and made the decision to put her to sleep.Although prescribing prednisone was probably an aggressive treatment for a hot spot, that is a doctor’s judgment call. However, GoodVets dismissed our repeated concerns about Stella’s extreme side effects, never noticed her weight loss despite being weighed at appointments in their office three times over the two weeks before she was transferred to MedVet, and has not accepted responsibility nor acknowledged their role in Stella no longer being here. Stella might still be here if they listened to our worries and responded accordingly.Stella went from being a perfectly healthy, happy, energetic dog to a diabetic, emaciated, almost fully paralyzed dog in one mont. All because we took her in to have a hot spot cleaned. We asked GoodVets to cover her medical bills. They referred us to their insurer who offered a fraction of the bills we accumulated. We declined. We never heard from GoodVets again despite reaching out to them via email.

Disappointing experience.. Our cat has been coughing excessively, so we scheduled the earliest visit for Saturday. We were 11 minute late. The receptionist coldly informed us that we couldn't see the vet because we were 10 minutes late, the next booking was next Thursday… Fine, although I didn't see any cut-off time mention when booking on the app, we did arrive late. However, the receptionist's attitude made us feel unwelcome, especially after making the effort to get there, and that the pets’ wellbeing is completely irrelevant to them. My husband suggested going to another vet, and the other receptionist literally laughed!! As if mocking us for thinking that losing one customer would affect their business! We just wanted to address our cat's coughing issue as soon as possible. Very uncomfortable attitude!! I recommend hiring more mature and professional receptionists. My friend had been here before, and she said she found the doctor unhelpful and dismissive. I should have listened to her and gone to another clinic. There’s better alternatives in this neighborhood anyways.

Everything I write is the truth, nothing but the truth based on our experience and opinion. This review is for the GoodVets on Streeterville. We had three visits to this veterinary clinic, and none were positive experiences. However, our most recent visit was particularly sickening and unacceptable. Our cat was suffering from a severe cough and was visibly unwell, prompting us to urgently seek the nearest available vet appointment, which was, regrettably, five days away. Upon our arrival, we found ourselves just one minute late past their cut-off time for saving sick animals. They told us the next time they can see our pet is another five days away. The place had no customers at the time and the vet was clearly not busy. Moreover, the conduct of the two front desk staff was deeply unprofessional and insensitive; they put on fake smiles and actually laughed at us as we were forced to leave with our suffering pet. Want to mention that we did not argue and we treated the staff civilly. In our honest assessment, it was apparent that the demeanor of these two girls displayed a disturbing blend of apathy and sarcasm. This experience left us feeling utterly disregarded and distressed in a time of need. This situation painted a stark picture of a practice that seemingly prioritizes financial gain over genuine animal care. For us, money isn’t a problem, just save our family member. It is my right and my responsibility to warn and share my experience to my friends and community. For the sake of all pets' wellbeing, I strongly recommend other vets in the neighborhood. We went to another vet in Streeterville; they saw us immediately and told us thankfully our pet was seen today because this was serious but easily treatable. Be wise with who you entrust with your pets' lives. Your pet only lives once.

Very nice facility. Warm and friendly staff. Dr. Schauer was very gentle and put our normally anxious dog at ease during his exam. He spent so much time with us going over our dogs history, as this was the first visit, and answered all of our questions. We did not feel rushed and left very confident in the care he received.

My cat has had some serious health issues since he was a kitten. I've worked with several vets in these last 3 years and had some of the worst experiences with these other vets. With that being said, I'm so glad to have found GoodVets. I feel heard and understood. And I know Lexi and I can be a bit overbearing with all of the health issues he has going on but everyone from the receptionist to Dr. Schauer and Dr. Knox were so understanding and patient. I'm so grateful for their attentive care. I truly feel like the staff here care deeply for every animal they work with. I highly recommend working with Dr. Shauer. There was a time where I was there at least once a day for 2 weeks because of my cats health issues and I never felt like a burden. Can't thank GoodVets enough for all of their help getting Lexi to better health.

Love the friendly and comforting vibes of this veterinary clinic!Last week I scheduled a visit for my black mainecoon Sebastiano because he was sneezing and I was concerned so I brought him here for a first time client visit.Dr. Lee checked his breathing and everything was fine 🙂 just allergies 🤧 and nothing to worry about. He did however prescribe antibiotics just in the event anything got worse so I could fulfill the prescription if needed in the near future.Needless to say Sebastiano is in perfect health and I really appreciate the staff here for getting him in so quickly.

I was absolutely in love with how kind and knowledgeable the vet was. She was very nice, and had a good sense of humor but was also very informative and detailed about my dog's health and about the overall exam! Additionally, I was very excited that she appreciated how much time, training, effort and care I put into my dog.

Dr. David Lee was excellent. Kind, caring, sensitive. He never pushes any treatment or therapy. We have experience with "merchant veterinarians" who propose intense, expensive treatments. We feel like his only interest is in the good health it our cat. Highly recommend Dr. Lee Agree.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!! This practice is wildly negligent in their care for animals. What should have been an easy, safe vet visit for a hot spot cleaning turned into the death of an otherwise healthy dog.

Although I do not use this particular location for my veterinarian needs, I just used them for a grooming experience that was well worth every penny. They have a phenomenal staff. Very pleasant, organized and caring. We brought Dolce here to be groomed. Since it is primarily a veterinarian location, they did a free wellness check on Dolce before grooming him. I would definitely recommend this location as a primary place to take your pet to be fully groomed. Dolce was extremely excited after being groomed. We are very happy with the outcome. Thanks Stephanie for an awesome job.

Terrible experience. Good vets Streeterville insisted I pay for another "wellness check" for my dog when I only needed to get her her vaccinations. She had a wellness check four months ago at the West Loop Good Vets. They would not accept that wellness check from the West Loop Good Vets office. There is something so wrong with that business practice! Will never step foot in Good Vets again!

Very thoughtful and attentive service. My cat was very calm considering the busyness of the area because of their quick isolation after check-in. Parking is an issue, but not surprising for the area.

We have had a great experience with Dr Redies and Dr Schauer. The technicians have also been very good. The doctors listen attentive and are conservative in their choice of line of treatment Agree.

We've been going to Good Vets for a couple years now. Dr. Schauer and his team are always so good with our senior dachshund and patient with any questions we may have. They are all very knowledgeable & sincere with answers and care for our pet.

Terrible. Waste of time. I had an appointment I have received an email and I hit the confirm button then on the web browser it said the appointment was confirmed. I was there and they told me my appointment was canceled. I asked them how. They told me it was cancelled through the app which I didn’t even know that they had an app. How can I cancel the appointment through the app that I didn’t even know it exists.

I love taking my cats here they are the best vet I have ever had. Everyone is so compassionate and listens to your concerns. They will get you in for a same day appointment even which is super impressive. The staff’s compassion and excitement towards the animals and the parents is unlike any other vet! I have recommended so many friends and neighbors.

We love it here! I’ve seen a couple of the vets here for my cat and dog over the last few years, and they’ve all been top notch. They’re always calming and reassuring to me and my babies, and we’re always able to be seen quickly. They even have a note that my nervous pup loves peanut butter and try to make her feel extra comfortable when she has to pay them a visit.

We really love having GoodVets nearby. Our dog had a very bad experience at a previous vet and has been skittish ever since, but the vets and techs at GoodVets are always so kind and gentle, he is doing much better and doesn't always mind going. The office is cozy and clean and ask the staff are friendly. The care with which everyone at GoodVets operates is always appreciated. We trust them.

The vet and his tech where phenomenal today. Previously my cat has left with higher anxiety than she entered with, but today she didn't. They made sure to have calming spray on the blanket while doing her exam and to use calming voices. During the visit the doctor even said that our cat was marked as feisty but he didn't see why. We will be returning to this specific GoodVets even if it is a long drive. Being a calm presence for my cat.

Great staff, clean facility, & very competitive pricing! Took great care of my dog all in timely manner without crazy wait times & didn’t have any issues. Dr. Lee was very kind & was able to help us out with our DFA so our baby can run around the dog park! Will definitely be using them for her annual vaccines and exam!

Everyone at GoodVets was so great with me and my pup! I am a first time puppy parent and they put me at ease with all my questions. The staff were gentle and inviting with her exam. The doctor stayed extra long with me until all of my questions were answered and didn't make me feel rushed. Would definitely recommend!

Both, Doctor Schauer and his assistant were wonderful to our kitten, Maple. They made her feel as comfortable as possible and handled her with so much care. Everyone from the Vet himself all the way to the front desk staff; basically everyone we interacted with during our visit, was very welcoming, warm, and well-informed. I can rest assured that my pet is in great hands when it comes to her health.

I’ve had a wonderful experience with the vets and techs at this location. On our first visit, Dr. Knox patiently and knowledgeably explained everything I needed to know about vaccines for my kitten, as well as things to look out for as he continues to mature into an adult. Daniel was our tech, and he really went above and beyond in his detail-oriented approach: all our documents were neatly organized into a folder, he made sure that we got all the prescriptions and brochures that I had requested, and even took the time to label my cat’s vaccine passport with information about each shot that he got. A few weeks later, I called in to get a new Gabapentin prescription for travel and had a similarly good experience with Dr. Schauer, who took the time to walk me through my options, even though it was a busy Saturday and he was the only vet on site. Highly recommend!

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Stecher and her team at GoodVets. She has taken such wonderful care of our girl, Tortee Bear. Tortee Bear has had multiple health issues that were always diagnosed and treated expertly. Her road to recovery was not a straight line, but Dr. Stecher has improved the quality of Tortee's life immensely and in turn, improved ours. You could not ask for a more dedicated, competent and caring professional. I enthusiastically recommend her to everyone I know. The facilities here are top notch and the staff is friendly and caring. They even have a special bed (pictured) and fleece blankets for cats who get anxious during vet visits. Pheromone diffusers also help to calm anxious patients. As a result, our girl has never felt more at home during her visit. She never in a hurry to leave! We will continue to visit GoodVets for as long as they will have us!
