I started keeping a salt water aquarium last year so by no means am I an expert. When I walked into the store it was spotless and the fish and coral looked fantastic. Sean was so patient with me and asked me so many questions so he can help me to his full potential. He proceeded to teach me what would work for me and why and was so honest with me. Most people would just make a sale but instead he set me up for success. Truly amazed with the amount of passion and knowledge. I will definitely be back. This is a business worth supporting. Thank you guys.

Great selection of stuff and it used to be reasonably priced. Now a single red cherry shrimp usually $4-7 at other stores is $11.99 and a singular floating plant is $6 each. All decor is overpriced as well Pretty ridiculous given that shrimp breed every month and floating plants multiply quickly. I understand you need to keep the business going but you’re going to lose many customers charging double what other local fish stores charge and triple online prices.

My wife and I visited to pick up a stand for our very first fish tank. Upon entering, we were in awe at the amazing seascapes and variety of healthy, gorgeous fish,plants, and inverts being cultivated here. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful; he also happened to have exactly what we needed in stock at a very fair price. We had a wonderful experience and will certainly be back!

Aquatic World very generously accommodated my 4:58pm request for a 4-into-1 air hose reducer, which I’m using to help synchronize carburetors on an old Honda motorcycle. Replaced my old broken plastic one with a stainless steel item that should be good forever! I’m sure they are just as helpful for actual aquatic needs.

Sean and Stef are very knowledgeable, informative, and patient. Their assistance and recommendations in assisting me to set up my 74 gallon was invaluable. Not to mention all of their fish look very healthy and active and the water quality in their tanks is clean. Highly suggest you check itout.

Aquatic World is a great place for ALL skill levels of aquarium designing/management.I have been in the hobby just over a year and I am not sure my Nano Reef would have survived without the help of Sean and his staff at Aquatic World!The staff is extremely knowledgeable and have a great attitude helping people who are still trying to learn (like myself).The location has everything you can imagine from fresh water to salt water fish. The place is small but has a nice selection of aquarium tanks, supplies as well as few species of both marine and fresh-water "creatures" for your aquarium. Great service and if you dont like aquariums on display they can order one you chose.

Aquatic World is an amazing store that provides a wonderful service to Chicago! I Stopped in here to get some supplies to start up a new tank. The materials they had in stock and on display rocks.. wood.. gravel.. etc were great and made it a one stop visit Sean and Steph were so very helpful. They helped talk and educate me through what I was wanting expecting and the outcomes of the aquascape I was wanting to achieve. Their knowledge and experience is very helpful for me to achieve exactly what I am wanting while also understanding and delivering a quality and happy environment for the fishies! 🐟 🐠 🐠 🐟. I can not recommend them enough

Super healthy plants and great selection of driftwood. Tons of freshwater and saltwater fishes, saw so many unique and beautiful creatures here. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend for any aquarium enthusiast!

Went yesterday to purchase a clownfish.The guy was extremely professional. But but the lady was extremely rude. She refused to sell us me the clown. I kind of felt discriminated. She tells me she felt like we wasn't capable of keeping the fish alive. If I ready got a Dory fish in saltwater tank already....

I have been working with Aquatic World for over a year and to my total satisfaction. Having a saltwater fish tank takes a lot of patience and knowledge. Sean has helped me with both. I am a bit of a nervous norvous and Sean has always supported me with patience. My fish tank is healthy and beautiful due to the work of the monthly maintenance done by Matt and Jay. If I had my way my tank would be overstocked but Sean puts the health of my tank before his profits by helping me control my desire for too many fish.

I would give six stars if Google would let me. This place is amazing. I wouldn’t shop for fish or aquarium products anywhere else. They have a very wide selection and Steph is VERY knowledgeable and answered every question I had. Quality customer service, friendly staff, and unbeatable prices. Totally rude lady who answers the phone. I am a professional shopper, and called to ask a question about fish tank rentals, and supplies. I introduced myself with my full name, and that I'm working on a commercial. She quickly cut me off and said, "we've done that in the past and it doesn't work for us" and hung up the phone immediately. I called back and said, "with all respect mam, I'd like to ask you a few questions". in which she replied, "I have customers in my store, I have to go" and hung up the phone AGAIN. uhhhhh.....what kind of customer service is this?! Maybe she got burned in the past by my industry, but that by no means gives her the right to treat a stranger rudely. Do not go here, do not support rude miserable people. Go somewhere else. I'm sure it smells and they don't treat their employees well if that's how they go about operating their business.

Cute little fish and supply store. Parking on weekends can be atrocious but that is not the store's fault, its Chicago... where the 1 star fell off has to do with inventory. While the space is small, I feel like it could be better optimized for more offerings of aquatic life. The owner, however, is very friendly and helpful.

I got a emerald crab and a coral banded shrimp yesterday. I put them in my tank and the 10 dollar crab ate my 35 dollar shrimp. I’m extremely upset they either sold me a aggressive crab or sold me a sick shrimp I called it to explain my problems and they told me it’s not there problem. I recommend tank it easy.

Long time customer, Sean is great. Highly recommended.Our tank started to leak on a Saturday night and Sean was there early on Sunday morning as soon as I called, to take it away and save the fish and coral. Kind of critical as we were having an open house at noon to sell our place.

Can get a little crowded at times but great customer service, selection, and fish.I updated this review down to four stars because even though I like the selection and service I saw too many tanks in less than perfect conditions. I will say I was disappointed to see two tanks with bad water and environments.

Super knowledgeable staff that is eager to teach anyone who is in need of advice. Sean created a really great image of what i needed to do in order to have a successful aquirum. This is now be my first stop whenever i need anything and it is not a short drive.
