There’s always plenty of parking close to the entrance and the parking lot is usually clear of trash and carts. The inside of the store is relatively organized and clean. The employees are nice and always seem busy.

While attempting a cash back transaction I was denied multiple times with different cards. Customer service finally took me to a different register to process my transaction and was successful. So what happened the other six times, five of which the cashier was assisting?

wow is this location overpriced! clearly taking advantage of being in a food desert. Six dollar jewel generic colby cheese slices vs. $3.25 virtually everywhere else?!

During the pandemic I can understand a note to the public a limit on infant formula of 5 cans It’s 3years later and this location has a personal typed out note to customers that they can only have or buy 5 cans of formula this note to customers are only on the glass window or side were everyday formula is not it’s absolutely ridiculous and I’m sure corporate would absolutely not approve of this. Plus I have 3 other adult family members in the store shopping so all I could have done was buy 5 cans and have my sister or mother go buy 5 more it’s so stupid. I needed 10 12.4 Oz cans ($200+) I’m having to drive across town to another Jewel Osco that doesn’t have the formula locked away or Target just to get what I need. Will not be coming back to this location

I ordered a cake 1 week in advance. I found out on the day of the pick-up that location did not write down the cake type on the order form. It only had my name and phone number. No one thought to call me and ask about this. I had a manger verify my order 2 days beforehand and she said it was fine. This was disappointing. This location is not responsible or considerate. The manager did blame the two new employees, which were not present at the time.I also noticed that they remove the 39 cases of frosting from the refrigerator and they were sitting out for some time. There was only 1 person working at the time. The containers clearly stated that they are to be refrigerated. This was concerning.-Jewel responded to this feedback, however they did not response to 'Contact Us' section on their website yet.-August 24, 2023.

I was in the Jewel-Osco store, in South Chicago Heights, IL. on Friday, March 1, 2024 shopping the amazing stock up sale. I had approximately $200 worth of groceries and somehow my "U" discount did not go through. My cashier, Samantha, who is amazing, had to cancel my order and re-ring everything. It was more involved than what I can say. The bagger, James, was a huge help as well. Samantha was so incredibly kind and patient with me which made me feel like I was an important Jewel customer and not a bother. (Even though she had to go through my whole order again) Thank you Jewel for hiring such great employees.

I placed a cake order for my birthday and when everyone tasted the cake at my birthday party it was whipped cream. And I asked for buttercream. On the label on the box it said buttercream. Very disappointing because I hate whipped cream cakes. And nobody ate cake at my party. A waste of $21.

Nice size jewel with big parking lot helpful friendly service, clean. Prices are little high here but it's jewels and there's not that many grocers in the neighborhood.

Been shopping at jewels for my whole life. It's my go to store and this one is no exception. Good selection nice deals and sales and they employ a lot of disabled persons. Good people. Really upscale experience at blur collar prices

I was disrespected, dismissed, and humiliated by South Chicago Heights morning store manager. I prepaid for a catering order of 200 pieces of chicken and cake for my mom's retirement party. When I sent family to pick it up, they didn't have my order at all. They prepared what was quick and not what I ordered. And the food was hours late!!The next day, I went to speak with the manager and he pretty much blamed me for their broken catering system! He told me I didn't pay for the chicken or place the order even after I presented him with a receipt and order form. Then, he tells me my story is way too common and he's not refunding me for messing up my catering order!After going back and forth with this man in front of other customers, he compromised by offering me a $50 GIFT CARD as if he was doing me a favor! I WILL NEVER PLACE AN ORDER OR SHOP AT THIS LOCATION AGAIN!I was humiliated & treated like a criminal due to Jewels Broken Catering System!

A pleasant location, that features a large variety of quality products, all packed into a nice, cozy store.The staff is more than willing to make sure that you are satisfied with your shopping experience. Very nice employees work here.Oh, and the organic milk is ALWAYS fresh. That's why it costs more.

Don’t fill out an application for this place and then call to find out if they reviewed it. The store manager Patty very sarcastic person says well we only pull applications when needed well my husband called and spoke to someone two weeks before and said to hurry up and fill out the application and I was likely to get hired. Well, the sarcastic manager, Patty said I don’t know who you spoke to you but we don’t do it that way. Well that’s nice. Maybe it worked out for the best. I wouldn’t want to work for someone like her.

Bruce and and Paul are amazing. Especially Bruce he helped me find several odd items to make my girl happy for a dinner she wanted to prepare. Bruce deserves alot he did it with a smile and with true customer service something we lack in today's industry. 1525217 is his employee # this man deserves something extra from the company. This is coming from a Manager of a retail company I would love to have Bruce on my team!!!

Jewel Osco in South Chicago Heights is one of the Best Jewel Osco in the Chicagoland area. Honestly every time I good try, it's a smooth experience. The fruit is always on point. The meat is always on point. The bakery staff is extremely nice. If you need to get a cake for a party or an event, I definitely suggest going to this location. Now as far as the crowds are concerned. They seem to get a bit busy on Friday afternoons and Friday evenings. That might be due to the fact that a lot of people in the area get paid weekly on Friday and that Jewel Osco is one of their top spots to go. All in all this Jewel Osco location is a great place to shop. I posted a picture of one of their pre-made deli sandwiches you definitely have to try out. You might have to doctor it up to your liking but they are real good and tasty.

5 Stars as my go to to find what I need if I can't make it to my usual shopping store. I have never had a problem shopping here, the food is great, they have a lot of options, I am always finding deals and I love the holiday section when it goes on sale. However, I am rating this store 3 stars because usually all of the staff are great. Until I had two bad experiences that didn't sit well with me. The first one was being followed and watched while I was shopping for a mop and other cleaning items along with cat food. Then as I was heading to the holiday section I overheard two employees in the next aisle over and they were talking about customers stealing. I heard the women say that the people who buy lottery tickets are the customers who steal and a few days prior to this incident I purchased lottery tickets and I purchased them quite a few times during several visits. I am familiar with most of the employees faces because I have been shopping here for 2 years now. Most employees recognize me as well. Again, most of them are great. I do not know what that incident was about but I do not want an employee assuming because I purchased lottery tickets that I steal products. That is insane.The second incident was when I was in the self checkout and a heavyset blonde women who looked about 40ish was yelling out rude and inappropriate things to her co-workers. It's not a good look and if I was a first time customer while she did that, I would have never returned. That kind of hostility should not be displayed in a workplace especially when there are children present.

They always have enough of everything whenever I go in to shop. Prices are a little bit too high compared to other grocers in the area. Some staff are very courteous and friendly. Others are deer in the headlights and may need a little more training on customer service. BTW, the people referenced are old enough to know better. The young people working there provide really good service.

Tried yesterday numerous times to find out about the crab legs that were on sale was hung up on three times the fourth time she was extremely rude so I said don't bother. Today the sale paper sad freshwater lobster tails 399 I get to the register she calls over the manager and the manager said absolutely not you have to have your phone with the app. After going here for almost 50 years I think I'm done and I won't be back

Rating goes to prepared food section not for the whole store. Question: When you buy fried chicken I would assume you like the skin breaded and crispy. Right? Ok. Who likes soggy fried chicken? Not me. I was shocked when buying fried chicken one day and asked if they could put it in the cardboard buckets they have. I was told “NO” that’s for wings. ???? What the….. so I explained that is plastic bag they put the chicken in create condensation and it ruins the fried chicken skin. She shrugged and repeated that thx card board buckets were for the wings. So I told her I don’t want to get home and have all this wet chicken and decided not to get it. The young lady was mad because I didn’t want chicken in a plastic bag. How messed up is it that this store doesn’t understand no one wants wet chicken. Other than the crazy logic at the prepared food section store is A-1. Bad part now I had to go somewhere else to buy chicken and was already starving so dinner was delayed by an hour. Was really looking forward to the Jewel chicken. It’s really pretty good when it’s not soaked in condensation.

Omg last Saturday I was shopping at Jewel like I do every Saturday but I forgot that I bought a $12 steak and it had a 50% coupon on it and it never got taken off. I called up there to customer Service and it is Wednesday now and ask them if there’s anything I could do. They said no problem bring the steak up here with the coupon on it and they will give me store credit. Wow awesome customer service and Mike the manager is it. Good job guys keep up the great work. 5 stars

Way overpriced and poorly stocked. You can find most things drastically cheaper at any other store. The shelves are waiting to be stocked all day so chances are the shelves will be empty no matter what day or time you go. What you find on one visit may not be in stock again for weeks. But the people are pleasant.

Always busy at this store. The wings are back on sale on Fridays. Absolutely love the Friday bucket of wings spicy and honey. You have to get a half and half bucket. Then pickup a frozen Home Run Inn Pizza, grab a Redbox movie or watch cable. It's a inexpensive movie date night with the spouse and/or kids doe a Friday after work.Save going out until Saturday.

This store is very busy. It's clean and has everything that you need. You also have two ways to check out you do it yourself, and the old fashioned way they bag it. It was very worth the time for me to go there.

Jewel has a large variety of food items And bake goods. I also have a large Full service deli which provide excellent service.The jewel still on Chicago road is a good place to Stop and buy.
