Worst food I have ever stuck in my mouth. Spent 58 dollars for 2 people on I guess seafood night. absolutely disgusting. Nothing has any flavor at all. Everything was old and harder than a rock including the rolls I've heard so much about. I've been upset about wasting money on some bad food. And I'm definitely not one to leave reviews. but this place was a joke. I don't understand how it stays open. I have ate hospital food and have worked in a nursing home and the food was better.

The buffet was very good. I tried some ribs, but they were a little overdone and tough for me to eat. But, if you have a good set of choppers, do try them. I had some of their cold, but nicely cooked shrimp... Often times shrimp ends up tough... This shrimp was great! Not drowned in water so that it got soggy. Nice and firm. Their mashed potatoes and brown gravy was spot on, a great comfort food. I'd go back in a heart beat!!

Reid’s has always been good for food and atmosphere, but as of lately, the prices are just way too much. $46 today for two buffets and two drinks. It might be our last time going.Parking: Big lot.Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level.

Still a good family buffet but the quality of the food has dropped after the Covid had expired. Chicken shouldn't be the same amount of chicken sitting in the pan getting even more dried out after 2 times going up for a plate of food & the same amount of chicken not being replenished. Fresh served chicken would be great, also skinless chicken would be great too.

The fried 🍗 chicken has been a little dry. Otherwise other food has been great. The fried fish 🐟 has been really good. Salad bar and desserts are always good. Everyone is always friendly. Workers are always busy and doing their jobs. We have always enjoyed eating there and the breakfast buffet 😋 is always really good. Thank yous for giving this opportunity to share.

The buffet had a great selection of food, the meatloaf was excellent, the ribs literally fell off the bone, the fish was fried to perfection and the salad bar had a wonderful assortment of choices, I was very surprised to see cooked beets on the buffet ( they were good) definitely worth the drive, holiday prices are less than 11$ for all you can eat

This place use to be good and reasonable in price. That is no longer the case. It is overpriced now even on Tuesdays and the quality of food lacks big time now. The food was not hot and staff does not keep the buffet full. Many of the food bins were empty and not refilled while I was in there last in 8/2023.Stay away from and do not trust the reviews on the Facebook Group Southern IL Eats about this place (the group refuses to allow honest reviews on their group.)

Our 1st time here was highly recommended on : Southern Restaurants Eats...Buffet style.. Price and drink reasonable.. Foods were HOT and refilled every time something was low.. Nice selection of foods.. Each day varies on the buffet menu.. Sugar Free dessets,too.Staff is very pleasant.. They also have it , where you can buy to take home.The drive here to Chester was enjoyable . We also got to take pics of Popeye and other characters!Highly recommend this place..Vegetarian options: Lots of salad bar options and vegtables.Kid-friendliness: Very children friendly ..

Carol our waitress was awesome and gave us some sights to see while we were in Chester. The food took me back to childhood with the best catfish and bread pudding I have ever had. We will be back for sure.

15-20 years ago, my family and child self would visit my grandmother in Chester. Every visit would include a trip to Reid’s. I can recall my parents, sister, aunts, uncles, and grandmother sitting at a long table in the back. All enjoying comfort food…. Fried chicken, catfish, and of course that good bread pudding.Fast forward to present day. My wife and new baby girl go to pay our respects to my grandparents, may they rest in peace. Before leaving town, we stop by Reid’s for lunch. Everything is exactly like I remember it. Delicious quality southern food. Fried chicken, catfish, bread pudding, and ice cream for dessert. And the joy of sharing the experience with a new generation. I think my grandparents were at the table with us in spirit. Wonderful experience. We will be back.

Hands down the best salad bar around. Bread pudding is unbelievably delicious! Didn't have the all you can eat buffet because of the salad bar! Sure smelled good! Fair prices, clean, friendly staff. I recommend.
