Ruler foods which is a division of Kroger foods has lower prices along with a limited selection of items. They often run weekly sales which often have even lower prices. As an example one such sale item recently was a dozen large eggs for $0.99 a dozen. So if you are good with a limited selection but lower prices then Ruler would be a good store to shop. They are able to offer low prices because a large number of the items they sell are house brand items. I have never had a problem with the quality of their items and I find their items to be just as good as the more expensive name brand items. So I suggest you give them a try.

This place is great for some items like milk and eggs. Some of there items are extremely cheap while others are comparable to other grocery stores. Be advised that if you go here you have to use a quarter to get a cart. You will have to bag your own groceries, and you pay for the bags so it's better to bring your own. Inside the store is set up more like a warehouse then a grocery store. Ruler states all these measures are to save them money, and the savings are passed to the consumer.

Noticed a major decline in customer service and cleanliness of store about 6 months ago. They are selling damaged items that are opened and not allowing customers to return them. Store manager is clearly under the influence of some type of drug.

I love this store! It is reasonably priced and has a great selection. They even get in items that you are wanting by filling out a survey.

Quality has suffered in last 6 months or so..rotting meat,molding produce.went in today and was appalled and the food you were selling should have been in trash.. I'm done with you...Sad!!!Not sure why Charleston, Illinois ruler foods can't get it together....back to Walmart for me.

It's all good, except for the blonde assistant manager and the dark haired mgr. They have affordable, food and one of the hardest working cashiers, Clara.
