Charleston county market has got to have the most disrespectful night staff there is, they make you feel so unwelcome especially if you even step foot in the building within the last hour of them being open. This is their unhappiest employee of them all, hoping for some new staff soon!

Other than Walmart, this is the only other full service grocery store in town. Quality fruits and vegetables and good full service meat department. Penny pincher digital coupons are helpful as well. The store is in need of a remodel, but I doubt that's in the cards.

They cheat you at the registers. Carefully watch their scanned prices verses what they are supposed to be.Also, they leave expired foods on their shelves. Check the dates.

Went to the local meat department to get some steaks. Got home and they were brown in the middle with white specks. Called customer service and the lady, who was rather rude, insist I bring only the receipt in. Just to be sure they saw how off-putting this meat was, I put it into a gallon bag and brought it with. After explaining to the customer service specialist, the department staff was called up to the front. They offered replacement but as we chatted, the white specks in the steaks began to move further, then they promptly issued a refund. Parasite infested meat and the package was labeled “sell by November 13” it is Nov 9 for reference 🤮🤮🤮🤮

This was my first visit to a County Market. I planned on running in to pick up 3 items. The produce was so fresh and well stocked.I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of food and drink that was arranged in such a way that it beckoned me to enter and peruse the isles.The entire store had an inviting atmosphere that was completed by an attentive and knowledgeable staff.

Nice selection of products. Reasonable prices and friendly staff. Some specialty items along with beer and wine and cheese. There has been a noticeable improvement in their meats. The meats used to be somewhat fatty for the cut but I have seen that the meats are right on or even in some cases slightly lean. Very nice

Wide selection of food options; the bakery and deliboptions are good as well. The upstairs section has tables and couches and is a great place to hang out or study. Very family friendly. Free wifi is available as well!

This is a tough one. Sure the store is nice they've got good quality merchandise but this day I went they were a bit lacking in customer service. I approached the register and the associate standing there did not say hi or acknowledge me this person merely looked up to notice that their light was indeed on. They were taking what look to be $20 bills and very methodically crumbling each one up and placing it on the scanner in front. I asked the person if they were crumbling them so that they would ensure they did not inadvertently give two together. They acknowledged affirmatively but I already knew the answer because I've done this kind of job many times in life. Anyway I waited for probably close to 7 or 8 minutes and that might not seem long but when you have an appointment and you have only accounted for so much time and unusual disruption like this can be a problem. I very politely looked at this associate and asked if they knew how much longer this process might take before I could be checked out. Person said oh probably not much longer now. LOL and then the person asked was I in a hurry? To which I answered affirmatively and the person quite disappointed looking proceeded to straighten out all of the bills put them together put them in the register and finally after about 15 minutes I was able to leave the store. So let's think about this review the place is good the product is good but the help could use some better training. Now to be fair let's say I have been removed from the customer service industry for probably 30 years so I really don't know the stressors that people in the setting face. Judging by the way people seem to treat one another I think they probably get treated rather poorly. Anyway this was a good trip but maybe just an opportunity to put some customer focused training together. They still get a five-star review you know why because that's what normal people are supposed to do. If you have no problem with the things you went there for don't ding them because you had a minor customer service kerfuffle. People Are People times are tough right now. Give everybody a break. And honestly I wasn't mad at this person it was quite humorous. Because it looks like something I would have done when I was younger LOL.

It is a good store with fair prices but I was not completely happy with their meat selection. Some of the cuts seem to be a little bit more fatty for some of the better cuts. Their staff do not seem to be educated as you would expect from a butcher shop, as the lingo sometimes stumps them But generally I was satisfied with their selection and they do run weekly sales to help keep your groceries within budget. Staff are friendly and helpful so I would recommend you give them a try and see what you think. What do you have to lose?

Over priced!!! Produce is very expensive and not the best, we are talking double the price of Walmart and almost triple the prices of Aldi. Very limited selections of most things. Two stars because most of the staff are nice.

I went to buy a few things yesterday (4/21/23) and noticed Prairie Farms yogurt was on sale for 2/$1.00. I found a couple that expired 4/22, ok, not a huge deal. There was more in the back that had expired 2/18/2023. I brought one up with me to the check out - the worker couldn't be bothered to look up from her phone to greet me. I brought this to her attention and she said it didn't matter, it was taken off. I told her that was one of many and it was extremely dangerous as people buy things without looking at the dates and could get VERY sick from eating it. She said they rotate stock regularly. Apparently not. Past visits we have had unfortunately bought expired milk as well. There is no accountability or professionalism.

The employees are generally nice, and they try to be helpful. The employees on the floor have very little knowledge or influence about how things are run in the store, so I get the sense that they feel powerless to make things better. Their biggest problem is having accurate pricing between their signage and their registers, especially in produce. There aren''t many choices in town, so for supermarkets, your choices are County Market (considered to be the priciest), Aldi, or Walmart. Ruler Foods is the budget spot.

Clean, well-organized grocery store. The prices are a big expensive, but the produce section is nice. Very little vegetarian options, I was only able to find tofu and maybe five plant-based options, unfortunately. The fresh floral arrangements are really nice though, too. Overall, good grocery store! Doesn't have everything you might need.

My girlfriend and I stopped by to check out their organic food section. After about 5 minutes of being in the store, a staff member began following us. The giveaway was returning to aisles we previously left and they were still "checking shelves" and watching us.We did not feel welcomed here. We will not be returning.

If you need heart healthy food items this is where to go. My diet had to change due to heart and health issues and they have a specific area just for that. I don't have to search the whole store it is all in one place I love it.

They did not have the particular product . This is not a complaint. I understand all products they attempt to stock can't always be on hand. About a different product: their previous donut recipe was much much better and so was the icing. Hopefully they will be able to bring back a product made locally.

I love the produce, bakery, and meat counter. The staff is always helpful. The store is always clean and welcoming. I love that they have a mezzanine that offers a place to sit down and eat what you buy from the deli. There is free wifi access. I think it's great to have something like this for the community but mostly a place off campus that the EIU students can go to and be in a clean safe environment.

I love to go to County Market. Their bakery, deli and meat department are much better quality than any other store in Charleston. If the prices were just a little lower, I would shop there all the time. Plus it always smells so good when you go in!😋

Very rude at closing. Customer service terrible all together. I felt like i did something criminally wrong when they locked the door behind me at 1052 pm. Bad energy. Good selection of products though.Ps.. products do not ring up as the sale prices even wirh digital coupons. Buyers beware.

When you're tired of putting up with Wal-Mart's lack.of customer service, come here. In general, you are going to pay a little more. But, I can get in and out of here in half the time that it takes me at Wal-Mart. The meat is better. The deli section is better. The staff is amazing. And, if you are watching every dime, there are deals to be had every week, so you can make it work if you're savvy.There's some issues regarding the MyCountyMarket app which isn't the fault of this location. Basically, to use your digital card, you need the intervention of a staff member as the self-check doesn't recognize the barcode in the app.

Friendly helpful staff. Aisles are clearly labeled which makes shopping easier. Wonderful produce section and deli. Definitely check out their meatpacking. The store is always clean and items are usually easy to locate, bit if you have difficulty the staff is always extremely helpful in assisting you locating your item.
