This place has been amazing for our little and aged Yorkie, Dusty. After moving to a condo last year, we realized that Dusty suffered severe anxiety anytime we were away. She hadn’t done well with other dogs (small dog syndrome is real), but the socialization and supervision the Dog Den provides has helped our family tremendously. The special care she receives because of her anxiety has changed our lives beyond measure. The folks who work here truly care about the dogs in their charge.

I used to work here as a daycare attendant. If you're looking for a job here, don't bother. The owner will treat you like garbage and not listen to any criticism regarding the dogs health or yours. Frequently curses at employees and degrades them. Is never there when you need help and will not send help to you. Some dogs are left in kennels for hours, are not fed proper medications, sometimes not even fed at all. The owner allows problematic dogs into the establishment which endangers staff and other dogs. It is not worth your health or your dog's to go there. This is a simple warning to anyone wanting to work here or take your dogs here. The turnover rate is one of the worst, and it is all because of the unsafe environment and the owner. No one person should ever be left with 26 large dogs alone.As seen in the reply below, Ken thinks I'm another employee. I've been told by numerous staff that I am a hard worker and they did not want me to leave. I have come in on my off days to help employees Ken refused to help himself, and always covered for people who needed to be covered for. I have evidence of this as well if I need to put more pictures. The behavior you see below is typical of Ken, a liar and a gaslighter.

The dog den gave my husband the wrong dog upon pick up. My husband assumed our dog was groomed and brought him home. When I saw our dog I immediately knew he wasn’t ours and called to inquire. They assured me our dog was still there. When we returned the other dog I was told I would receive either a refund or a credit on our account. The following business day I called to speak to the owner to share my experience. When I told him what happened, his first response was not I’m sorry, but “well who told you you’d get a refund.” Then he asked, “is that all.” When I again reiterated my disappointment in what took place he shifted the blame to my husband for taking the wrong dog. His lack of customer service, accountability, or compassion was frustrating so I then told him I would just take the refund if that’s the stance they want to take. He tried to speak over me, interrupting me, and when I wouldn’t allow him to interrupt me he just hung up on me.

My high energy Boston terrier has been going to day care and boarding at the Dog Den, off and on, for almost six years. He loves it, and I know he is safe and happy there. Highly recommend it!

One of the best, if not the best, daycare and boarding facility in Champaign-Urbana. When my dog was first introduced to this place she was afraid of the bigger dogs (she has always been pretty timid) so they put her with the small dogs until she could hold her own with the big ones. My dog absolutely loves this place and the staff within it. The ability to see pictures of her when we’re out of town, through the facebook page they have, is also very reassuring. She never wants to leave when we pick her up 🤣. Great groomers as well.

The daycare alone is a bit too pricey for us, but this is our go-to boarding place. They are quite personable and care about dogs and getting to know them. Everything has seemed very professional I really feel like my dog is taken care of here.

I absolutely love the Dog Den! I feel as if they love all the dogs, and take such great care of them. My puppies get plenty of exercise while they are there. My favorite part is that they take pictures of all the dogs playing throughout the day, and upload them to Facebook that evening, so I'm able to check in and see how much my dogs are enjoying their time there. It's definitely comforting seeing your animals having the time of their lives!

Every time I’ve taken my pups to The Dog Den, I’m so thankful how happy they are when I pick them up. They walk out without leashes, no problems with other dogs, and they are clean and healthy after 4 days. The staff obviously takes great care of them and meets all my “dog-mom” requests! The Dog Den is great! The staff seemGenuinely interested in caring for your fur babies which is comforting. The environment is always clean and odor free. Multiple cameras are in use to observe the dogs at all times.I highly recommend the Dog Den!

We love the Dog Den. It's so easy to schedule boarding and daycare. Our dog loves it. It takes the stress out of leaving him when we have to travel without him. We never have to worry that he is well taken care of. It's fantastic that they get to socialize throughout the day in a safe and monitored space. Whether it is boarding or daycare, our pup always comes home happy and tired from his adventures at the Dog Den.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the dog den. I've never seen a dog facility that combines excellence in so many areas of dog care for the price that it does. Their facility is extremely spacious and well-equipped, they have outdoor space, the owner and staff are very engaged and knowledgeable, they accommodate dog needs and do great work with putting them into the right group given their personalities, and most importantly: the dogs clearly love it there and have a ton of fun. Once we're in the car and our dog knows we're heading towards the dog den, he gets all wiggly and can't wait to enter the building when we leave the car. And when we enter, he doesn't look back at us to say bye: all he wants is to be let into the boarding room and say hi to his pals and the staff members. When we pick him up, we always see a bunch of dogs who enjoy themselves and are clearly having the time of their lives. I think Champaign is lucky to have an institution such as this one!

My dog is a regular and loves every minute! He plays all day, comes home tired, and gets excited to do it all again. The facility is clean and my dog never comes home smelling horrible. The staff is fantastic with animals, provide phone updates if anything concerning happens, and always welcome my dog for day play or boarding, even if last minute. Thanks for taking such great care in what you do!

Our dog Nyx loves playing with other dogs, so the Dog Den is great for her. She gets super excited when we start driving in the direction of the dog den and always runs straight to the door when we let her out of the car. She clearly has a great time, and at the end of a visit it's clear the folks at the Dog Den have taken good care of her. Of course, she's always happy to see us but exhausted when she gets home (either from a brief day care or from a few days boarding), which tells me she had a good time. The only downside is a lack of outdoor space (at home she has constant access to our back yard), but she doesn't seem to mind at all. Great online reservation system, super organized folks, reasonable rates, and a happy dog.

As I was riding past, I saw a dog trying to obviously get in. It is 91 plus degrees plus a heat wave the poor dog had no water in site. I called and told them that, a young man who refused to give me his name hung up in my face 4 times. I wouldn't send a rat there, the old lady who claimed she was the manager refused to give me his name too. Unprofessional

We usually have someone come into our house to watch our dogs. My brother and I dropped our 1 1/2 year old black labs (who are from the same litter) off for the weekend. The place was super clean. Process was very easy. Dogs all seemed very happy and very well taken care of. Staff were very friendly and even responded quickly to my email checking on the dogs. We loved getting the doggy report card at the end of the stay. Our dog slept all the way home and through the next day. She was exhausted from all her playing!

My dog loves going to the Dog Den! She will try to leave with me every morning because she wants to go play with her friends. She also knows when we pull up and gets super excited and whines to get out of the car. When I come to pick her up the workers sometimes have to carry her out because she doesn't want to leave. The workers are all friendly and enjoy being around the dogs. Every time we go in my dog happily greats all of them. I would recommend the Dog Den to every dog owner that wants their dog to socialize, and get rid of some energy. They are also wonderful when it comes to boarding your dog as well and try to make your pet feel as comfortable as possible.

This was our first time boarding our dog and The Dog Den made it a pleasant experience. The facility was very clean, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and I liked that the dogs were allowed to roam around during the day. Our dog came home happy and worn-out after his weekend stay!

My dog Dino had a great experience at Dog Den. He had never been boarded and was a rescue so I was a little concerned how he would do. There were pictures posted on Facebook every night, so you could get a glimpse of their day and playtime. Thanks Dig Den!

Jones participates in daycare 2 days each week and LOVES it. In addition, Jones stays at The Dog Den when boarding is required. The Dog Den is a very large facility with several rooms of various sizes that allow dogs sufficient space to play and relax. Jones was rescued from a challenging environment and the key to his being a successful daycare dog is the owner and this facility. Ken and The Dog Den staff are very knowledgeable about dogs, which makes this a safe place to bring dogs.

The Dog Den is a clean, safe and fun environment for dogs. My dog visits The Dog Den for daycare, usually two times a week, due to his high energy and love of interacting with other dogs. When I travel, boarding my dog at The Dog Den gives me complete peace of mind. Registration, check-in, drop-off and pick-up are all efficient processes. The Dog Den folks understand dogs and get to know each dog's personality to provide the best experience for my dog.

I just picked up my Pup, Opal up from her first daycare visit to the dog den, and she seemed to love it. When they brought her to the front, she said hi to me and attempted to run back into the play area! The staff were very friendly and had clearly invested some time getting to know my pup. Opal will definitely be visiting again soon!

We regularly board our dog here, and have been very pleased with his care and the services provided. Our pup is a little anxious, but the staff helped him through our vacation and made sure he got wet food when he refused his normal food. His nails are always trimmed well when we ask for that to be done. Our dog can be difficult, but we trust the Dog Den to take excellent care of him.
