Bad communication. One fish died. Got store credit and bought another. Two workers there told me I had nothing to lose if I bought another one, because I would be able to get store credit again if something happened. Well that one died in 4 days, and now they tell me I can’t get store credit. How is this my fault? Their own workers told me this. If I knew their policies I wouldn’t have bought that fish. 130 dollars lost over this situation.

The staff at Sailfin are always friendly and eager to help, they always have good weekend sales.They even have stamp cards…fill it up and save big $.Very reasonable prices on R/O refill water; frozen mice and rats…best prices around.It’s an hour drive but well worth it for the great customer service.I use mobility devices and the team members always carry out my 10-12 gallons of R/O water.#SailfinPetShop rocks, thank you, you have great team members working for you.

Love this place, they take great care of the animals there. I have adopted 3 of my parakeets and both of my cockatiels there(they SOMETIMES have cockatiels parakeets are there all the time.)They have exotic fish, baby stingrays, coral, crabs, tank plants, rats, snakes, bunnies, degus, air plants, koi fish, eels, frogs, canaries, parakeets, zebra finches, chameleons, spiders, bearded dragonsThey have all the food and supplies there you need for any animal they have.I will say they are not complete experts but they know how to take care of the animals properly.

Truly an amazing store with the kindest and most helpful staff. I’ve been a frequent customer for two years and love this store. They are total experts and will give thoughtful advice and help you build an amazing habitat for your creatures. They will even custom order hard to find creatures from reliable sources, so you’ll get healthier animals, as opposed to what happens when ordering things on the internet. One of my favorite parts about this store is how knowledgeable they are! They patiently help you learn along the way, whether you’re a first-time pet owner or very experienced. I recommend asking for their advice and listening closely if you want to avoid common pitfalls and keep your animals happy and healthy.

I bought powder orange isopods and 2 cultures of springtails. The isopods look amazing and are doing good but neither cup of the springtails had aby springtails in them.i dont want a refund keep my money I just won't cone back.

Genuinely one of the coolest places I’ve ever been. One thing to note that I personally thought was very cool is their personalized kits they have for each pet. This place is a million times better than any chain pet store, and I wouldn’t have found them if Petsmart wasn’t out of small crickets today. It’s very clear that the employees are passionate about what they do and have plenty of experience. You won’t catch me at Petsmart again!

I went there to get my first ferret, when I first went in to just look at them they would let us pet them but did not let us hold them, what surprised me the most is they were not used to being held, they also were kept in a cage way to small, ferrets need a lot of space and the two in the cage were in a guinea pig travel cage, they also had no vaccinations from what I was told and we had to call them just to find out a vet clinic also, they were kept in a room with other rodents and reptiles, I also spoke to a former employee at the petsmart near me and they had said that the owners of sailfin would buy a lot of baby mice and 2/3 of them would pass away before selling, I also had friends who got rats from them and both of the rats died within a year, i highly recommend not buying ferrets from here, there are other breeders and also other stores nearby who will be a lot better

Great store including many cool critters you can’t find anywhere else. Animals are healthy and well cared for. Buying fish anywhere else in the area is pretty silly since they’re not more expensive at Sailfin and are way less likely to have problems. It’s kind of a small store, but the tank decor they have in general is very nice (not tacky like a lot of places). And it’s hard to find sand at other pet shops. They also sell bulk rocks by the pound that are very nice, as is their driftwood. It’s worth it to get a healthier animal and a good looking natural setup!Our axolotl and most of his tank stuff is from Sailfin (pictures included)

My favorite pet store. Very knowledgeable helpful staff. Always plenty of beautiful animals. Have purchased fish, frogs and guinea pigs here over the years and all were healthy. Decent prices. Truly unique store. Keep it up!!

walked in the store an employee was standing next to the cash register talking to someone. Looked around the store for a while. picked up some fish medication and went to the cash register. The employee was still standing there talking. I was ignored for 5 or 10 minutes when I said excuse me can I get waited. The employee told me she was busy so I left. I will not do business there again.

On a Tuesday I bought 4 fish. I lost 3 of the four within 24 hours. I took them, along with a water sample back to the store. They tested the water which was fine then said that this was a bad batch and that they shouldn’t have been sold and to come back Friday and they’d replace all 4 at no cost. On Friday I came back and the owner replaced the 4 fish without an issue. Within 24 hours 2 of those fish died (and one more since then). When I went back in he saw me, didn’t make any eye contact or even acknowledge that I had been there 12 hours ago. When he finally spoke he looked at me and said “I can’t keep replacing these fish!” (Rather than saying “I’m so sorry this is happening. Let’s see what’s going on”) When I tried to continue to reason with him (while being STUNNED that I couldn’t believe what I was hearing) he continued to be more argumentative. I’ve never been more SHOCKED by a situation in my life. I have no other words, except as I told him “ I’ve been coming here for months and months, singing the stores praises. I am completely appalled by your behavior , ESPECIALLY as the store owner, and I’ll never ever come back into this store again.” Buyer beware.

Best pet shop in town for small animals/etc.I remember my dad having a 55gal tank and going here back around 89-90. When I bought my first rats in 2019, I was amazed that it hadn't changed.Everyone is really good to work with. There is a reason they have so many regulars. I'm in every couple of weeks for food and to look at the rats I want to take home, but don't need more of...Usually I'll have one or two of mine with me when we go shopping, and they love getting attention from employees and customers alike.

Was worried my water was horrid, test and said I have typical local water. They are kind enough to adapt them to local ph and such.I have tested Sailfins and Petsmarts, Petsmart is making enviroment to the book of the fish and as such will not acclimate well if at all without using pure R/O water.Sailfin is best place for fish.

Great place! We got our Black Bear Hamster there, as well as all the food and toys etc. All the animals, reptiles, snakes, fish, birds, rats, (even aquatic plants) were taken good care of, and the staff teach you everything to make sure you can give them a nice life. My bf also got a betta fish there, who's happy with his moss ball.

We bought a lovely yellow parakeet last Tuesday. Sales was great. The parakeet is adorable and friendly. More importantly, "he" (perhaps) escaped from the cage several times. Soooo cute!

I go hear all the the time just to browse. They had so many animals that I never thought would be in a pet shop, like an eel, a lionfish, some piranhas, and a stingray.

We were there this evening to purchase a hamster for my son. The young man who helped us went above and beyond to make sure we were getting what we needed and wanted, and was an immense help to us. His knowledge and kindness was well received and appreciated.The animals here look well cared for and loved, and staff seems very helpful and attentive. I have not been to Sailfin for several years, but we will definitely be making this a primary source for our small critter supplies, and some new additions.
