Came specifically for the seasonal chocolate mint shake. Complete let down. Nothing like the pic or what we've had at other locations. Chocolate syrup only. Not the thick, chocolate icing as in the past or like in the advertised pics. Manager tried to "remake" it by adding a pump of mint syrup. Fail. Chili dog, cheese fries, and beef were as we remembered. Delicious!

Due to the fact when you make a fish sandwich it needs to be centered on the bun in order to eat it properly! My ended up in a mess and Yes, they said they make another, which I already had ONE MESS I did not need another!! I would appreciate it very much to have someone show them how to make them correctly & to honor theircustomers’ request!!!!

Do yourself a favor and SKIP THIS PORTILLO’S!!!!!After YEARS of hype this is my first AND last time eating at a Portillo’s! The service was absolutely dismal from the minute we arrived. It took forever for our food to be prepared despite being the only people in the restaurant at the time and then absolutely everything was wrong or nasty! Started with an entire cup of cheese being shoved in the bag sideways causing it to spill all over several entrees. Then the “jumbo” beef hot dog was far from jumbo and the bun was basically nonexistent and what there was of it was soggy to the point of being inedible and the hot dog was nearly cold. Another diner in my party ordered the Italian beef dry with gravy on the side with hot & sweet peppers (which he was charged for). The sandwich arrived drenched in gravy to the point of being inedible and when returned he was given a completely dry sandwich with NOTHING, after asking for the peppers he paid for he was still given the wrong items. The other diner’s burger was a mess, condiments all over, no onion ring on the burger as advertised but empty shell that was supposed to be an onion ring, and it was also cold. The only positive I have at all for this experience was the cheese sauce for the fries because it took me back to when McDonalds still had cheese cups & shoestring fries!

From Chicagoland… have had Portillo’s up in the suburbs many many many times. First time having it in Champaign recently.Ordered the new Rodeo Burger… it was topped with an onion ring and really tangy BBQ sauce! It was SO GOOD!Fries were also delicious, as usual.Will be back! ❤️

The food was delicious as always! This was my first time dining in and it was wonderful. An employee named Tim brought my food to me (as well as other tables) and made sure I had everything I needed. Overall it was a wonderful experience and the atmosphere was fun too! The spicy chicken sandwich was awesome, so was the chocolate cake shake!

Won't take CASH for payment,only debit or credit cards in the drive up. That's discrimination. Against people that don't have then and difficulties walking to have to go inside to get food. Won't be back.

Ordered delivery and got it with the fries hot and crispy. The Italian sausage and beef combo sandwich was good, but I wouldn't say I loved it. The chocolate cake shake was awesome and I will get it again.

We held my fathers 77th birthday party Saturday. My mother called and was informed that we should plan to come in after the lunchtime rush at about 2PM, when we arrived things were winding down and Tim the host approached us and helped us setup for 15 people. He was amazing and made the whole process go so smoothly. I appreciate him and the teams help in making the day so special.Tim provided my father a hat which he loved. When we arrived home my dad told me he had never had a party at a restaurant like that. We always have his birthday party at home, he was so happy he just kept hugging us. :)Thanks again for an amazing experience.

We love Portillo's! Always hard to decide between their Italian beef, cheeseburgers, or salads (especially their seasonal salads). Of course their milkshakes are amazing---and lemon cake!!! Friendly staff who will sometimes bring the rest of the food to the table or clear the table when we have finished eating but are still talking. Helpful with customers who have cognitive or mobility challenges.

Should have reviewed earlier kept forgetting to buy I recommend not going to this portillos. The honey mustard looked GREEN when I opened them up and smelled awful, was definitely expired. And my husbands hot dog came without a bun. I saw another review with the hotdog bun being moldy maybe I should have checked the reviews before ordering, definitely won’t be ordering from here again.

I'm a door dash driver and their heat was out so dining in was not an option. I sat in the drive thru about 30 minutes before the ordering prices started at the window. You'd think the orders I needed to pick up would be done since the dining room was closed but they weren't. The staff inside were all standing around cussing, cracking jokes with the manager, not even working. They had to ask me twice who I was picking up for, and then had to wait some more. The door Dasher people should've still been allowed to come inside to pick up the food so we don't have to wait that long..

I love Portillos and have been a patron for over 30 years . The location in Champaign is consistently getting worse . Tables are never clean. Staff here is not at all attentive to the clients. They have now removed all of the napkin dispensers and salt & pepper shakers - all this unnecessary waste . The portions have diminished . I love Portillos and hope that this local franchise will get their act together !Vegetarian options: Awesome veggie dog

Excellent service. Food was hot and fresh. Tastes just like it does in Chicago. Staff is friendly and clean. The whole restaurant is very clean. The parking lot was also clean and easy to get to. Portillo’s is easy to access from I-74. The Italian Beef is still the best anywhere. I’ll continue to support Portillo’s.

I thought I would wait a day to see how I felt about our recent visit to see if the experience still bothered me. So yeah this is gonna be a long one.We used the drive thru and as we were pulling away we checked our bag and noticed we were missing a sandwich. I doubled checked the receipt and saw we were charged for 5, the bag only had 4. So I parked and went inside and I informed an employee that we were missing a sandwich.Showed him the receipt. He walked away and told the manager and she came over and in huff emptied the bag counting all the sandwiches (4) then said, "I put 5 sandwiches in that bag" all while smacking gum in her mouth (very unprofessional)I informed her that there were only 4 sandwiches in the bag. And just looked at her.Then she rolled her eyes and huffed and walked away.Now I'm standing there thinking to myself as she's walking away, what's going here? Am I getting our missing sandwich or not? Does she really think I am trying to scam them out of a sandwich? Why not come out and call me a thief?I'm standing there watching her walk away I'm looking at the food prep area and noticed the employees we're too busy clowning around, laughing joking making weird Noises like they were mocking a mentally challenged person. Not that they were mocking anyone, they were justing acting like they were mentally challenged. Again very unprofessional. Not wearing hairnets over their excessively long hair to note another issue.Anyway, I digress. So the "manager" gets down to the other end of the prep area by the registers, stands there for a minute then glances back at me and notices me just standing at the other end just looking at her. Then with another huff and snapping up a pair of gloves she grabbed a piece of Italian bread, and appeared like she was making a sandwich.Whew 😥, i guess she realized I wasn't leaving without my missing sandwich. About 5 minutes pass and she takes her time walking back down to the my end of the counter, then puts the sandwich in the bag and TOSS SLIDES the bag in my direction and walks away.In the end mistakes happen. Own the mistake and remedy it. Next time, if there is a next time, we utilize the drive thru we're not pulling away until we check everything right there in front of the employee. Then they can't imply your trying stealing an extra sandwich.
