Their newest employee is so positive and friendly!!! We love their meat and get all of our meat there. Wish they had bone in skin on chicken thighs and that their chicken breasts were smaller.

We always have had a perfect experience here until yesterday. I asked for two cheddar brats. I did not watch the employee grab them because I figured she knew what she was doing. I came home, cooked them for myself the next night. They were VERY spicy! I could not finish them, only had a couple of bites and I needed milk to hide the taste. I get cheddar brats here all the time, and they are never spicy. So this employee obviously gave me the wrong kind of brats. The label was correct, but the brats were not.

They have a great selection. Everything they sell is high quality. The butcher's will cut to your specifications. Only place in town that consistently carries Beef House Rolls.

A wonderful gem. Ask them and they'll cut you steaks as thick as you want. Their sausages are great and they also sell salmon fillets, chickens, frozen legs of lamb and oxtail... Call far enough ahead of time and they'll try to get less common items in.Ask about their customer loyalty card too.

My partner and I have been going to Old Time Meat and Deli for the better part of the past year. Their meats are always fresh and juicy and the staff has been happy to cut a number of meats to order for us (they cut a whole roast into beef jerky sized strips for us to smoke and they’ve taken some of their larger chicken breasts and butterflied them for us). The chicken breasts, in particular are some of the best we’ve ever had and are available in a variety of delicious marinades.Last week, we were hosting a party after our wedding. We contacted Old Time a couple weeks beforehand and they were happy to work with us for our order. We got 20 lbs of smoked brisket and 10 lbs of bbq pit beans (w/bits of brisket in them!) for our party and it all came out perfectly. The brisket is moist and tender – some of the best we’ve had in town (my partner is from Texas!). They were even gracious about me arriving 5 minutes before they closed to pick it up.Excellent service, excellent food – the prepared stuff, too! – and really reasonable prices!

I have been going to the this place for a while now and love it. Everything is fresh and delicious. The staff is very friendly and will be more than willing to accommodate if you want to order a custom cut of meat or specific quantity of a particular item. They have great weekly specials and bundles. There is not a better place to buy meat in the area. They are now also smoking meat daily that you can purchase hot. I have had the smoked salmon and the baby back ribs. The ribs literally fell off the bone and were amazing.

First time going to butcher shop that wasn't willing to cut bones. It just seems lazy when you have 4 people standing around and not one is willing to help a customer make a cut they are looking for. I hope they are not as lazy when preparing their food and keeping their store clean. Nonetheless, I will not ever be returning.What a shame.

Love this place. Great quality and always willing to butcher different cuts of meats. Can be a bit more expensive than the grocery store but the meat is super fresh and staff is very helpful. Check out weekly specials.

I called first to check on availability of specific items. The drive is 1 hour. I asked specifically if they had ground lamb. They said yes. I got there and was told they would not have until tat Friday! No customers were in the shop so when I spoke I had all of the up front employees attention. I explained what was said to me and how far I drove. Like deer in headlights. The answer not an apology says it all. "We've got other lamb parts in the freezer". Common sense, customer service and remembering where the money in their checks comes from, seems like a discussion needed.

I like to go here to look, but everything seems so pricey. I guess that's what I get for being used to the grocery store pricing. I have bought or been gifted several roasts from here, and they have been fantastic. I like to look at the new style pellet grills, even though I won't be getting rid of my Traeger anytime soon.

This place has been around forever, and as a life-time local let me testify: Short of driving an hour out of town to one of the local farms in the surrounding towns, you will simply NOT find a better source of meet. Now those local farmers do come into town for our markets and they do stock their wares at the local Co-Op, but none of that feels like visiting a butcher.Combine old-school butchery with top-shelf customer service with the best of our local meat availability here conveniently in the center of town, and you get Old Time Meat & Deli Shoppe located at 2018 S Neil St. Champaign, Illinois 61820Custom cut of meat? A must try are the twice baked potatoes. Great service and knowledgeable people. Lots of sausages but there is one they need and Thats BOUDIN, it's a cajun sausage that is delicious. All I can say is just go you won't regret it.

The meat is very good quality. The twice baked potatoes are to die for. Just don't change your mind about a piece of meat after they have one wrapped because the butcher I had today got PISSED off and just half assed wrapped the new piece of meat. I even purchased the larger piece of meat. Oh well. Merry Christmas anyway.
