My husband and I happened to be in the area, and stopped in. Loved the retro games, consoles, and the folks that own it now. Really nice, and answered any questions we had. The shop was set up nicely, and you can easily see prices/etc. Also, we got to meet the manager cat on duty. He is very dedicated to his work.

I can't recommend Live Action Games enough as a place to sell your games, consoles, and paraphernalia. I've sold many old games over the years, but everywhere else I have always felt ripped off. Not here. The owner is also a really cool guy and always has good conversation at the ready.

Absolutely awesome retro store. Super clean, well organized and the owner is one of the coolest guys I've encountered while traveling and retro game hunting. Everything from Atari up thru the current gamibg systems.

Great selection, awesome staff. They answered our numerous questions and had a great attitude while doing it. They were very knowledgeable and super helpful. The selection was great, the prices were good, and we ended up getting just what we wanted.

Absolutely wonderful store, tons of nostalgia, games, snorlax quilt, owner was kind and patient with all my questions, at NO point did I feel pressured to buy or leave. If this place had a couch I would loiter in that ambiance.Owner is knowledgable and helpful, incredibly friendly.The little book nook is right up my alley with all of the books being game related or themed in some way. 100% was eyeballing the fallout cookbook, before I decided on an amiibo.10/10 would suggest stopping buy and giving it a look through.Don't forget to wander over to the Gundam section as well!!

This is what a video game store should be: Excellent selection of retro and new, limited releases. The guy working at the counter was very cool. If we're in the area again, would definitely visit the store again.

Live action games or LAG is a bit of a conundrum sometimes I go in looking for something and find exactly what Im looking for at a great price other times a find a game or two that looks cool, and others well, staff is rude condescending and prices are out outrageous, but if you take the gamble your liable to experience a great atmosphere, great decorations and retro to modern games that you would never find elsewhere think, boxed copy of Super Mario Bros, so in all it's ok I would recommend a stop by the store for more than enough games, plenty of collectables and a small collection of video game OSTs on vinyl that pack a punch!

Great prices and very helpful. There were some things I'd come there to sell a while back, and I actually really liked getting the feedback for a few of the games being rejected. I didn't know at the time that overwatch was discontinued, or that I was missing one of the disks for oblivion for the 360. This was entirely unintentional on my part, I had gone through boxloads of games so quickly I honestly hadn't noticed. As for the overwatch, I genuinely had no idea, since I'm not up to date with games. Anyway, I just really appreciated that they were cordial about the misunderstanding on my end, and also took the time to explain it to me. I love this store, disc replay, and gamestop, and each store has better prices on different things.

This place is excellent, the only place at which I will now buy video games in Champaign-Urbana.The selection here is unbeatable, the prices the same as anywhere else, the owner is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and it feels easier to justify buying video games knowing that I'm supporting a local business rather than a major box store.Highly recommend.

Great little retro shop with knowledgeable and personal employees. They also let me set up some of my paintings for a time, so extra stars all around!Prices are OK but every once in a while you'll find the random extremely overpriced PS1 title (Rayman shouldn't be $$$) or conversely, extremely underpriced PS2 classic (Final Fantasy X for $5, sign me up!).8-bit selections are sometimes hit-or-miss but that's understandable since this is a single location kind of in the middle of nowhere central Illinois. You can always check out The Exchange if you want but the nearest one is in Indianapolis and Chicago. Even then, I find LAG to be very comparable with the bigger retro shops when it comes to price.Other stores in Champaign don't vet their inventory. You're definitely going to get burned if you buy an older game with battery backup if you buy from Disc Replay. Those guys don't check anything besides "does it turn on". LAG has a pretty good reputation in making sure EVERYTHING works with a game.I also had LAG fix my PS3 that hasn't worked since 2011. It's hard to give up, it's a launch 60-gig that's backwards compatible. As Indiana Jones would say, 'It belongs in a museum!".

I always enjoy a trip to the store. I might not always buy some thing, but I love seeing the care of the selection here. If you have something to trade in, they will always give you a fair price for it, maybe even more than fair. I’ve also never bought a single thing here that didn’t work when I got home. They also have probably the best collection of obscure games that you’ll find in town. I’ll definitely pick this place over any other used video game store in town every time.

All of the employees are really friendly and welcoming and always happy to strike up a conversation. Every single time I purchased a game that ended up being broken they fully reimbursed me, even going as far as to let me replace it with a game slightly more expensive than it originally was. I will always recommend this store to my fellow game collectors

I was traveling out of town and wanted check this place out. I went there today and I was blown away by the collection the store has. I bought few games at a REALLY good price! The store owner was really friendly and was able to help me out and I had a great conversation. Once I'm back in town, I have to come back. Great store, great prices.

They had such a great collection! Sega, N64, Super Nintendo, original Nintendo games and even older consoles! I was able to buy an original Nintendo console for a decent price! Even newer games for Xbox One, S Series, and PS5 games. Definitely a go to!

Passed through Champaign-Urbana about a month ago on my way to Iowa and stopped here. I was super impressed by the selection, the quality of the pre-owned games, and the prices were definitely reasonable and within expectations. I also appreciated everything being priced and displayed nicely. Clean store, too. Walked away with a Genesis game and a wish that it was closer than halfway across the country from me. Thanks for a great visit!

One of my favorite parts of living in a smaller city is having cool retro video game stores like this one. LAG helped me get through quarantine by adapting and staying stocked up so I could buy a Switch and popular games when larger stores were all out. The employees are really chill, knowledgeable, and honest, so they're super helpful and have made a shop that you'll want to keep coming back to. Their buyback and selling prices for older games are great too. If you're in town, definitely try this place out instead of going on Amazon.

Awesome retro game store with fantastic selection and competitive prices. Everything is visible and well-marked with tons of options for nearly every platform starting with the Atari 2600. I was pleasantly surprised to see a variety of Japanese games for the Famicom and Super Famicom, again with clear labels. A must-visit in the Champaign area.

This place is hidden away on a side street near downtown so it's tricky to get there if you don't know where it is, and I'm never quite sure I'm parking in a safe spot but the shop is awesome, they have retro games for almost every system between the PS5 and the Atari, and the guy running it is a cool dude. I could spend a lot of money here, and their prices are great.

I’ve purchased several things from this store and I have always been satisfied. The owner is always very helpful and a nice person. The selection is always more eclectic than other used game stores in the area. I recommend stopping in and browsing at the least. You’ll probably see something you’d like to have.

I absolutely love Live Action Games. The crew that works there are super friendly and don't shake you down for sales. They'll gladly answer any questions you have and are very honest about peripherals. They have a HUGE selection of old school Nintendo, Sega, Atari games; they're always getting new things in. If you're a gamer, support this store!

Clearly the best retro video game store in Central Illinois. It is Well stocked, well organized, and the addition of the wish list feature is awesome. my wallet cries every time I go in there because the deals are so good that I spend a lot of money on many different things. If you are looking for something retro, if they don't have it they can get it, including imports! they also carry a full line of Hyperkin, Retro-bit, and Old Skool consoles and accessories.

The place had become my favorite place to go to in Chambana since the new management arrived this Feb. The prices are fair, and if you are a collector, be on the store owner's good side and you'll never know what surprise you are up for.The shop owner is very talkative and brings up interesting topic so that the customers can have a good time at the store, and he is willing to give regular customers all sort of perks.I know that the ex owner of the store did a number on that place, but give it another chance, it will be worth it.

I've spent about a grand at this store over the last two years. Only had one problem with them, they wouldn't let me volunteer! Other than that a good store, descent prices, great customer service! I also love the decor all around the shop! Being across the street from the terminal there is plenty of free parking as well!

A great local video game shop with a great selection and reasonable prices, for games new and old. I also have found my trade-ins to give more store credit than I was expecting. If you have even the slightest interest in video games, I recommend just stopping in to see Adrian and the selection he offers.
