The cashier was very professional in ringing me out despite a problematic JCP retiree who was being difficult with her. Just a shame that there's only one place to check out on the entire floor as far as I could tell. JCPenney changed their checkouts several years ago. Unfortunately, it does not take the customer into account. This one young lady was the only person checking people out. Despite having to juggle, she was wonderful. She deserves a pay raise.

Great customer service. Always ask if we needed help.But the store is just not well stocked and not as clean as others. I saw some clothes full of lint and dirty. Maybe the store is just too big?

Was just at JC Penney’s in Champaign and brought several items worth $185 dollars. I didn’t know when I tried on a pair of clearance Capris what was scraping my upper leg until I took them off and at least six security tags with exposed pins fell to the ground. My upper leg is scratched. I was going to leave the store but I needed the items I was going to purchased. I showed the check out person all of the tags (and one was still in the pockets)and explained what had happened and all I got was a mumbled I am sorry about that as he was texting. Is this the way you treat customers.

Need NEW buyers!! I have been saying that for years. Move their store to West side of Springfield!!. Need junior dept desperately.!!! Check out depts at Target, TJ Maxx, Marshall's , Kohls, Von Maur. Look around. Get rid of mattress, Levi dept, maybe Liz Claiborne. Update your store. Bring shoe dept to front of store, womens clothing, not so many bra and panty selections, not so much exercise clothing. Update what sells. Need more selections for men. Better prices. Change way you give your credits. Check out Kohls credits. Give Kohls cash. When returning things you still get your credit back. Offer free gift wrapping. Offer senior citizen and military discounts. I will say it again---Desperately NEED NEW buyers!!! I don't want to lose Penny's!

Went there for one specific items which clearly said 20% that item. Nope rang up regular and wouod not discount it. I went backntook a photo of the sign and explained this sign is clearly 20% off. Send someone over to validate it and please apply the correct discount. These two ladies weren't happy about it but did apply the 20% to our purchase. As we walked off one told the other to go remove the sign. Buyer beware.

Like most other Penneys, the store was well organized and the staff was friendly and helpful. The store was very clean and tidy. It's located inside of the market place mall which is very nice with a bunch of different stores and options. I definitely recommend checking out either the Penny's or the mall if you're in this area.

It's Clean, and Great Customer service and Great Sales on Everything from Women's Clothes to Jewelry. I'm always at the Jewelry counter and the Employees in Jewelry know I buy a lot jewelry there for Friends Family and myself. Good quality Diamonds, Sapphire and Sterling Silver. It had been awhile since I had been to a JCPenny store. I had become disappointed in their merchandise. I was very shocked and pleased with the merchandise in this store. Inventory seemed a little sparse, but definitely one of the better JCPs I’ve been to in a long time.

This store will not honor prices that are displayed. There were a lot of clothes in a certain section and the sign displayed a certain price. It didn’t ring up that way. They said they made a mistake placing the clothes there. I understand that but they should honor the price.

The store was decorated nicely. Employees were friendly and helpful. It seemed like clothing and merchandise were in short supply and prices were not great. Kind of gives you that shaky feeling of uncertainty.

Great customer service. My crazy self accidentally placed two orders online for the exact same items. I took one of the orders in and had no problem getting a refund. Of course, while I was there I had to do some shopping as they had some really good sales.

Great shopping experience in this location! Very nice clothes, decent prices, easy to get to. Friendly staff, great selection of items to choose from for anyone. Only sorry I was just visiting and didn't give this review sooner. My store closed in Massachusetts and I have to travel further to get the correct stuff. Ordering items online can be a hassel when things don't work out in my favor. Thanks for being a great company for many years! My earlier years, I had been an employee and it was a decent experience!

I went in not knowing where to find a certain work shirt and every time I walked by a worker they asked if I was finding everything okay and if I needed help. One lady understood what I was looking for and walked me directly to the item and told me where the dressing rooms were too. It was just such a smooth and satisfying experience. Check out was great too and the cashier scanned a Sunday paper coupon for me. Much appreciated.

Had a new ring sized here and they did a beautiful job! The staff were all very helpful and friendly. I hope this store can hang in there since Mattoon and others have closed because I live everything about JCPenney! They truly offer high quality and unique merchandise.

Went to buy a couple pair of tall jeans. The ONLY price sign said $49.99 and at the register they were amazingly $59.99. Didn't argue buying them online. Thanks for the free sizing! Makes ordering these online easier. 😂

Good selections on better than average men's clothing.Service lady was very nice and helpful.Cashier was new and not trained very well didn't even know about current coupon available.Nice clean store with school selection.Was not very crowded.We will be back

Tags were wrong on my clothes and prices didn't match the rack they were on. One person checking out everyone and they were very busy..couldn't find anyone to help us either. Our cashier was friendly though I'll give her kudos for that.

I had the worst experience and I am never going to buy at JC penny now. I got some order online for curbside pickup. App said it's delayed, I called the store and someone said they are going to come out but had to wait to so long. So I thought I want to cancel but they said I need to come inside the store to get the item returned and the item is in the store. Why would I come inside the store to return the item that is already there, Manager told us that is the rule. Manager even did not apologize, she was just saying it's the rule and did not even address the problem. Also one of the item did not came for a month and when I called the store they have no idea where it is , refund it being processed for that though.

Two registers open a lot of customers. Everything ringing up wrong. Three items all priced incorrectly grossly more than should have been. One item the lady actually said where did you get that from? It is out of stock! There were hardly any employees. The ones we finally found were polite and friendly.

It was clean, while salespeople were stocking and straightening areas. I had not shopped retail (brick and mortar) in a while. Some very good sales even before Black Friday. I recommend a look and see before you order online.

Great sales as the season changes. The store definitely has that hollow feeling... Disorganized shelves, few patrons and hard to find associates... All adds up to a quiet, minimalist shopping experience. Worth the deals.
