Update 9/4/23My first real experience inside this Freddy's. Good service people and good decent food.If you've never been to Freddy's, think Culver's plus Steak 'n Shake.--Didn't actually go inside because it was already closed at 8:00 p.m. even though Google maps says that it's supposed to close at 9:00 p.m.they need to get that fixed on Google maps especially for folks driving a long way come to Freddy's.Kid-friendliness: Great for kids

Freddy's does it right! I'll highlight 3 key areas for myself. #1 the food is made right and is super tasty. Burgers, dogs, chicken, etc. The fries are crispy and delicious. #2 the Freddy's fry sauce is second to none. I buy the bottle and use it at home. #3 The frozen custard desserts are killer. This Reese's dessert is second to none. Give it a try. You won't be unhappyKid-friendliness: Excellent kid combos

We went through drive up, it was our first time visiting this restaurant. My husband ordered a hot dog with mustard and onions. When we got it we got a cold hot dog with no toppings. My Frisco melt was disgusting. It had sauteed onions, I've never had onions on a frisco melt before, yuck, there was some cheese but no sauce. The bread was burned. We will never go there again.

If you enjoy eating greasy burgers. Then Freddy's is your burger place for sandwiches. 3 kids' meals wasn't too expensive. It was only 18$ for 3 kids' meals. There's a drive thru and dine in. If you looking to just grab a meal for a lunch break to a meal for a family of 4 or more. This is the place. I remember it was clean when I went in one time. No issues with any of them being disrespectful. Doordash does do Freddy's deliveries

It was my first time there. I enjoyed my meal and the Turtle Sunday for dessert. Very friendly staff and the restaurant was very clean and well stocked. Employees were all busy and not standing around. I will be back.Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu with several choices. Good variety for kids to eat.

Decided to try Freddy's today and it was awesome. Fresh cooked to order steakburgers, shoestring fries, and cheese curds for lunch. Everything came out good and hot. For dessert I got me a large hot fudge and butterscotch sundae.... large is really large... be ready! The girlfriend got a concrete mixer, (blizzard lol) which was also very good. Definitely a good place to eat.

Like a midwest IN-N-OUTWe loved it! Was delicious. Makes steak and shake look like mc Donald's for steak burgers, Will be going here as my burger place for now on 😁As a first time experience it was very good. Friendly. And clean.

I was in Champaign for a work conference and had never been here. I was a craving a smash burger and Freddy’s did not disappoint. The customer service at 9PM-ish was fast and friendly. Love that they expect you to want the sauce and have many of them near the drink station to self serve. The sauce was delicious! Also the beef tasted fresh and well prepared as far as fast food standard go. I’ll be back!

Based on an evening dine-in experience:This place gives a ‘five guys’, ‘Johnny rockets’, ‘’shake shack’ vibe. The price points are cheaper than those places and the serving sizes are larger—so many fries with meal. The only drawback was the taste.Everything was plain, it had no flavor to it. I really wanted to like this place because I’ve read all the good reviews about it.I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich meal that come with skinny fries and a drink.I hope the lack of taste of everything isnt the reason this place is normally empty.

Great and fast service!!! I got my food in about 5 min. BEST fast food burger place I've had yet. Better than five guys!! Better $price$ also!I was greeted by Tavia. She was very polite and helpful while taking my order. My son and I had burgers, cheese curds, onion rings and ice cream. The food was great! The ice cream was built just like the pictures. Burgers were well seasoned and built just as good.

Very disappointed with my service. There was a lot of staff present but nobody was doing anything! My drink wasn’t full all the way when I got it and I waited for about 20 minutes when only 2 cars were in front of me. Very accommodating when they forgot multiple items of the order, but had to wait 10 minuted for fries. Will return but I hope things improve!

99 out of five 🤩 stars ⭐ ✨ Both the morning manager, afternoon manager and all employees deserve a raise for going above and beyond the call of duty. The store is in perfect working order. Super clean and efficient service.

We ordered online. Our food was ready, but the receipt was lost. We had to go in. We didn't get some of our drinks. We only got the rest by double checking.The interior was dineresque. The staff were friendly and energetic.The 12 dollar bbq pretzel burger was the most miniature burger I've ever seen from a restaurant. Think "McD's standard hamburger size" and take some meat away. Then pay 12 dollars for it.We didn't hate anything, but nobody in our group of 6 was impressed by any of their food items.

I'm editing my review. 4 years later, 2/5/24. The last couple times I've been here, the staff is friendly. The restaurant is clean. Staff is doing a great job and props to the manager running a tight ship.My family stopped in and they weren't busy at all. We walked out without ordering. The tables were all dirty. Everything in there appears to be greasy. The Champaign location has been this way for several months. Its ashame because it used to be a nice place to eat.

The food is pretty good for the price. Service meets the reasonable expectations of typical casual fast food quality. Atmosphere is also nothing notable as it's another chain burger place.Vegetarian options: My vegetarian wife is able to find multiple things to eat at this restaurant.Kid-friendliness: It's not kid-unfriendly I guess.

Dinner was good, but when went to get custard no vanilla custard cashier not communicative about being out until after taking order and had to restart order and the chocolate was melted, gave us wrong sizes of wrong versions we ended up ordering 1 brownie delight Sunday 1 brownie concrete and 1 scoop of chocolate.... they gave us two brownie delight Sundays melted no cherries chocolate all over the dishes and a hair in my partners. Not prepared correctly. Staff had poor customer service conduct when ask to fix the errors. Mind you they shut everything down at 6:30pm and don't close till 9pm

I rarely go out to eat anymore and when I do I vow to never do it again. But I do.I had never been to Freddy's before. Today I drove past and noticed "Chicago Dogs" on the side of the building. Okay, sounds good, I'll try it.Walking in I noticed everything was grungy. Not filthy - I've seen worse - but every surface had that "wiped with a well-used rag" film on it.The young woman taking my order spoke barely above a whisper and probably was annoyed with me for asking her to repeat everything she asked.I ordered a hot dog with fried cheese curds instead of fries. When she asked me what I wanted on my hot dog I asked her what the options were. (Yes, it's on the menu, but the menu is so cramped I couldn't find the them.) She could have politely pointed to the location on the menu for me but, instead, did this:she adjusted the register screen so it was flat, pointed at it and said I could read it.First of all, it was upside-down. Sorry, I can't read upside-down. Secondly, I don't care how annoying it is, if a customer asks a question, answer it to the best of your ability.I should point out that I was the only customer in the restaurant and there was no one in the drive-through. It's not like she was overwhelmed and pressed for time.To make things easy I asked for mustard and relish (already ruining the ingredients for a "Chicago" dog).The cost was almost $15. Pricey for a hot dog and side.Almost twenty minutes after ordering, no food. There were at least 10 employees. Only two of them were doing anything. The rest were bumbling around like zombies.Just when I was going to say something my order was ready.The food looked good. However, I'll nit-pick. Not precisely Chicago-style. The hot dog is, as it should be, all beef. But the bun was not poppy seed. The peppers on the menu are jalapeno not "sport peppers", and there is no celery salt.As for the taste: exactly like a higher-end grocery store dog.The cheese curds. After a eating few I thought they were the best fried curds ever. After a few more my taste buds caught up and the amount of salt became far too much.Freddy's is the only chain I know of that has it's own "fry sauce". Two varieties. Standard and Jalapeno. I'll take almost any condiment over ketchup. They both tasted odd. Not bad. Just odd. However, if you like it, they sell bottles of it...as well as their specialty spice.I ate almost everything but just couldn't finish.As I was walking out I went "Blegh!" and looked up to see two employees sitting at an outdoor table. Oh well, just being honest.So, I won't vow to never eat out again, but I will vow to never eat at Freddy's again. That vow will be easy to keep.Covid really messed up the restaurant business. Nobody wants to work in it anymore and many of it's current employees are from the bottom of the barrel.

Went through the drive through and ordered a double veggie burger, double jalapeno burger, two large fries, and fry sauce. Got to the window after a 20 min wait and they seemed to have lost our order. We repeated what we ordered, paid and waited for another 15 minutes. Someone else came up to ask for payment a second time, we told them we paid, they left. We pulled forward so they could bring the food out. Then we start driving home. No fry sauce. We go back to get fry sauce and notice the veggie burger is a single. When we tell them about it they said that's just how it was. They said if we wanted another patty we had to pay for one. Mind you we told them twice that we wanted a double at this point. 3 different people come to the window to explain that the veggie burger does not come as a double. We explain to each one that we know that, that's why we ordered a double. They asked us to come inside so we do. Then another person comes up to explain the same thing to us again. We tell them it's fine, we will return the food we just want a refund. Who I'm assuming is the manager, comes up and snaps at us to give him the receipt without saying a word. As we wait for the refund multiple employees are talking about us saying that ,"that's on you" like I work there or something. There was no apology for them not communicating with us and extremely bad customer service the entire time. Would not recommend and will not be going back.
