My husband and I have regularly been shopping at Anapoorna and can't say enough about our go-to Indian store. It is always clean, organized, and well stocked. An Indian store with superb standards!I appreciate how helpful the owners have been with questions we've had about any product we wanted to know more about.Their recommendations have been spot on, and I appreciate the genuine care and consideration that is evident in the quality products on their shelves and the atmosphere of the store as you step in to get your grocery shopping done.Thank you. Keep it up!

An Indian store. Mostly has all the necessary items required in an Indian Kitchen but at an escalated price. Vegetables are a bit expensive but atleast you can see and buy "Indian" vegetables; something other than just lettuce. All in all its a good goto store. I guess there Haldiram's Roti is the most sold item.

My recent visit to Annapurna Store for meat was extremely disappointing. The frozen meat was of poor quality, and the owner's attitude towards us was disrespectful. Snatching the meat bag when we declined to purchase was unacceptable. Improvement in customer service and quality is desperately needed.

It's a good Indian store. It has most Indian groceries one might need, including some vegetables. Good service too.

A must visit. Always have fresh produce and a huge selection of spices and grains. Absolutely love their frozen paratha as well

Disappointed with the poor quality of meat and disrespectful behavior from the owner. Unprofessional attitude and snatching the meat bag when we declined to purchase. Improvement needed for customer service and product quality. I definitely know the owner would write a rude reply for this comment. Chill uncle you just need to change your attitude.

One of the very few Indian grocery stores in Chambana. Reliable. Reasonable prices. You can always call them up and ask them if the item you're looking for is in stock.

It's a good Indian market. Almost has everything starting from rice, masalas, Roti, Ginger Garlic paste, to snacks. The shopkeeper is also humble. It's has both North and South Indians Indian groceries.

Clean and convenient Indian food store. Store is small, but has most frozen foods that you might crave. If you are one to cook from scratch, they have lot of packaged ingredients. They do not sell fresh vegetables and fruits, however.

Complete range of all Indian groceries you could wish for and then some. I had tried other stores too but this one is now my favorite and my go-to place for Indian groceries. The uncle who owns the store is very nice and so much fun to talk to. If the store is out of something, you can tell him about it and he will bring it for you the following week.

Small store but has product in both ingredient and frozen form. Prices are a little higher than other location, but food is more authentic, causing there to be oddity when they import American brands back into the stores for distributors.Any purses or backpacks must be put down upon entering. This is by the door but also by the only register.Staff friendliness dependent on who is working. Here you will find authentic foods and Man of them in bulk. Credit cards have a minimum that is small enough not to notice. Note; some of what seems to be a difference in friendliness is a difference in culture. Several languages are spoken by staff with ease.Store is clean. Do not put baskets on any of the freezers!Fresh foods are gone since Covid. There is no hand sanitizer available. Baskets are not cleaned off. Masks are no longer required but are still be worn by some. There was clear heavy plastics between the cashier and the customer when last I was in.No public restrooms or wheelchairs. I have never have seen children in the store. Advertisements for events are behind the counter. They do sell tickets to most events. Parking is free and close.Questions have always been answered politely. I have never seen anything expired or reduced price. Prices are sometimes marked only on shelves and not on the product. There has never been a line if more than 2 people no matter how busy the store. All bags are packed well. They continue to have a well stocked supply of various foods that are expanding again. Different brands available side by side for comparison.Update: plenty of spices in various containers. It is a good good shop that uses it's space well.

Annapoorna is by far my favorite place here for Indian groceries. They are very well stocked and they have a commendable range of products. The store is organized well and that makes it easy to browse through their products. Also, uncle (the store owner) is really nice and warm to me every time I go there, so it’s always a pleasant experience. Besides, if you find that something you want isn’t there in the store and you ask him about it, he’ll procure it for you the following week.

My go-to neighbourhood Indian grocery since it opened nearly 20 yrs ago. Couldn't have my daily idli sambar without it. Fresh vegetables on Thursdays; competitive prices; owner helpful and courteous.

Worst customer service.I have been to dozens of Indian Grocery store and the owner is the rudest person I have ever met. Glad he showed his color today so won’t be taking my and my friends’ business there anymore. Last month I drove an hour and spent $200 there and was about to spend almost same today. But had to leave after being humiliated by the owner. Took my business Bombay market who were very nice. People with self esteem should not go there. He has the worst attitude for a business owner. Never going back and recommend no one to go there. Maybe he treats people differently. Don't know how he got 4+ star in google. will give negative star if I could 👎👎👎👎👎

This a great option for a small town like Champaign and is my go-to for Desi cooking needs. The uncle that works here is very helpful and knowledgeable. It definitely doesn't quite stack up to stores in Chicago or Southern California, but it's solid. Products also seem fairly priced. I believe you can order halal meat from the store, too, on a weekly basis.

The owner claimed that there is a $10 dollar minimum for people who use credit cards and seemed totally off. I think he attempted to scam me. I don't see anyone else complaining about this rule and did not see this rule mentioned anywhere else in the store, website included! Seeing how he responds to criticisms on these reviews its apparent that he was never a good person in the first place. On to Bombay Market!

Good place on campus to find Indian food like lentils, rice, flour, spices, pickles, packaged snacks, frozen flat bread, frozen curry. Prices are moderate and on high side in comparision to chicago, but the best in town. Would love to see them expanding the store by introducing more items.

Good one to get indian groceries and vegetables. Managing people are very helpful. You can get pulses, legumes, masalas, dahi, rice, wheat, frozen foods including chapatis, gravies, cut vegetables. Only drawback is that some items are old and dusty. Some are very expensive like fresh curry leaves, and mint leaves.

It's like a normal indian store but with lot less variety that there is supposed to be. It has all the indian spice and ready to cook boxes, which is great. All over as a person who cooks indian food at home, i think it's the only place where i'll find what i'm looking for in campus town.

Please avoid buying groceries here if you’re new to Champaign. The prices are unreasonably high and you can get the same items (or rather more variants of the same brand) elsewhere in town. The other stores have competitive pricing in comparison to Annapoorna Stores and also offer options like pick up-drops, additional discounts on orders above 30$. I once found the dosa pack with the sticker of almost double the price ( originally $1.99). On requesting for discount, the owner was rude and arrogant in tone. Not student or customer friendly at all! I suggest go to other stores around that have way more to offer in terms of customer care and auntheicity.

They have a decent selection but don't always have what I need in stock when I go there. They are friendly, but its also crazy that there is tax on everything at any Indian store here in Champaign (not how it is back home in CO at the Indian stores) but overall a decent place to get Indian lentils and spices.

A small store with a good inventory of Indian snacks and spices. The courteous owner is nice to talk to.

I just went there today and the person running the place was very friendly and helpful. They had a fresh selection of vegetables for Indian cooking and all other grocery items. (I saw a negative review on this site, but that was made a few years back. From what I saw, that review is inaccurate at the present time)

While it is smaller than Bombay market, it offers the essentials required for Indian food, including vegetables

It's an good Indian grocery store, with most of the items required for cooking Indian food. Also packed/ frozen chapati, dosa, idli, paratha, Indian vegetables, sweets are readily available. However, you may find the same goods for cheaper rates in Chicago, but I guess this is not a bad option considering Chicago is 300 miles from Champaign.

The owner( male) is very irritating and cheap. By mistake I picked up 2 plastic bag for 1 vegetable, he looked at me in a very rude way. When I was leaving the store, I was waiting for my brother who was behind me holding all the bags, the owner said please close the door in 2 seconds. Not great and expensive as well.

The store is typically well stocked but with the additional 10% off for students at Mirsung that is less than 4 blocks away, going here seems like a waste. The store is also a little small and riddled with cameras making it a slightly weird experience shopping in the Midwest.
