Love the atmosphere, wine, and staff here! Wine comes from their vineyard in Alto Pass, Illinois (close to Carbondale)! I love the Chardonel (dry white), so yummy! My mom and grandma love it as well

Extremely pretty. Fabulous staff. We had a lot of fun. We stopped in in the evening in November. They had had a chili cook off during the day we found out. They have a very extensive events calendar. Very flat parking area is gravel building and grounds are handicap accessible. Are puppy love running around, wines are fruit wines the special in November was a sin Grua, which I bought two bottles. Very comfortable interior spotlessly clean I can only imagine how beautiful it is for weddings in the spring and summer. The website says they serve food, they do not except for cheese and crackers, and small bites for wine tasting.Campers can fit in the parking lot.

This places offers some great wines. My wife and I love the heartland blush. It also has a lot of comfortable seating and amazing, hospitable service.

Is a pretty good wine bar. No vineyard. They have all there wine transferred from the Alto Vinyard in Alto Pass. However, the staff was very helpful. Knew there stuff when it came to the wine. However, we have been to the one in Alto Pass many times so knew what wine we liked. The atmosphere was also very good... The only negative thing I have to say about it is there were no signs on the road to help with location. We used gps and it took us the long way apparently. All around a good experience tho.

Someone said their website says they serve food, but it does not. They serve food at the Alto Pass location, which I've also been to. I still have yet to find a better place for wine tasting in the state of Illinois.

My fiancée and I and some friends were in Champaign on a weekend visit and when looking for things to do, came across live music at this winery. As we like wine and music, we popped by for Candy Foster who was obviously a crowd favorite because the indoor venue was packed. I loved the beverage offerings and felt that there was a wide section available, including the holiday sangria that I purchased. The bathroom was nice—lol—and didn’t smell even though there was a consistent line of people waiting to use the facilities. The space was well maintained and we definitely enjoyed our brief interaction here while in Champaign!

Dueling BanosThe restroom in this tasting house has dual sinks and dual toilets so you can race your friends in a good ol' pee contest.Aside that this place is as normal as can be and even a great place for entertainment. The boys from CU Comedy put on an amazing show. Wine, cheese, popcorn and puppies on this trip were the highlights.

The setting is certainly lovely; expansive porches, quiet views. However, the wine experience is lacking.We smiled, told the lady, “we are new here”. She just said, what do you want? No mention of tasting options. So we checked the listings and ordered the $8 glass of Shiraz. As she started to pour the Shiraz into a plastic disposable cup, I asked for a glass…. “you have to buy that, otherwise people break them”. Really? You charge me $8 for a small glass of wine and then serve it in plastic? I’m 67 years old, I can’t even remember the last time I broke a wine glass.Sorry, it’s called the cost of doing business, a quality business.

Being from out of town, we walked in and asked if we could sit on their outdoor deck. They said sure. We didn't realize that there was no wait staff and that you had to order at their bar. It would have been nice if they had mentioned that. There was no one inside and they let us walk out without even asking us if everything was all right. A nice view but a definitely an awkward experience. A little bit of customer service would go a long way.

We really enjoyed the variety of wines offered. Each one we tried was really good. We shared some swiss almond cheese and Ritz crackers which paired well with the wines. Seating was provided indoors or out. It was the perfect fall day to sit outside and chat with friends.

A nice little winery with a charming feel. They have live music during the summer months and all kinds of events through the the year. The wines are great and the staff friendly and knowledgeable. There's a wine for everyone at Alto! The 3 free samples never hurt either. I like to know what I'm buying and this makes it possible. The nice country feel is great too.

We had our wedding there in October of 2012 and the staff was awesome! They were so accomodating in every way and just great people to deal with. The venue was very personal and romantic, and even with the weather we had to deal with because of all the people involved it turned out great.After the ceremony we had a couple of cases for everyone to enjoy of our favorite wine and everyone loved the Port!!! The wine is very well priced and the selection provides something everyone will enjoy.

Nice homely vibes and a good way to get out of town for a little while. This place is far enough out of town that it feels like you're in the middle of nowhere. They had a good selection of wines; some were not very good, but taste is subjective, so I can't take any stars off for that. This is a great place to go with friends to have a relaxing afternoon around a bottle of local wine.

There was a Faternity Party on the grounds the day we visited. It was not relaxing or enjoyable. They needed there own tasting area. It was just constant running in and out and long lines, no slushies because they couldn't keep up.But the wines we liked. But what was to be a relaxing time with my friends was not relaxing at all.

my wife and I each sampled 6 wines for $5 so thats twelve oz to share among 2. we narrowed it down to top 2 for getting bottles and took home a nice bottle chiller too. we enjoyed the wine and cheese and fun conversation. perfect time of year to sit out on the porch and watch the sunset. hope to be back again soon.

We visited today and were practically ignored. This is the 2nd time we tried to visit with similar results. There are a lot of wineries in the central Illinois area to try that are super friendly. This was a bad experience both time. We won't try for a 3rd.
