I just moved to the area recently and found this place today. They have a very nice selection of liquor, wines and mixers. The guys behind the counter were very helpful and they have some good deals and prices. Now I know where to go for friendly service and a great selection!

Decent little place but the young kids always working are more worried about talking about their personal lives, checking their phones, and listening to music than actually knowing where anything is. I wasn't impressed by selection.

The selection is good. The customer service is outstanding. I spoke with Corey ( hopefully I've spelled his name correctly) who was knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Highly recommended!Update July 9, 2021I rarely, if ever, post multiple reviews of a business. However, I felt compelled to do a second review of AJ's in general and Corey in particular (I'm embarrassed to say that I'm still not sure if the spelling of his name is correct). AJ's continues to have an extremely good selection of liquor, beer and wine. However, it's the customer service that keeps me coming back. I especially like dealing with Corey who is always friendly, informative and helpful. This is not the only liquor store I use but it has become my favorite simply because of that customer service.

It's the only place in Carterville that sells liquor a couple of miles from my house. The price is fair. A little bit of variety. They seem to just keep the good stuff and not much exotic.

A wet spot in dry Carterville (only place that sells alcohol). Great when you need a bottle of wine and don't want to drive to Marion or Carbondale. Friendly staff and the drive-through is convenient.
