Professional and Contractor Services - do your research when using Home Depot recommendations. Electrician we were referred left a splice in our ceiling, installed romex which is not code in Chicagoland or surrounding suburbs, and left 21 holes for us to patch. Only 13 holes would have been needed to install 6 in canned lighting, so we’re wondering why he needed to cut 32 altogether, when we only had 10 cans installed and two pendants. The 12 holes makes sense, but why another 21 were needed is beyond us and the electricians that needed to come repair after. No refunds so far…Home Depot needs to vet these pros better. This was a total botch. Code should be followed if the customer is paying for that. Always.

This is a great Home Depot. The staff are friendly and there are some who have been there for years and really know how to help!We recently purchased storm doors and I apologize for not remembering her name, but she helped with everything, asked great questions and provided exactly what we needed. Ken in flooring and blinds has helped us so much over the years. Recently helped me with multiple window coverings. He is accurate and clear and so kind. The staff at the service desk are always knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. Love the garden center in the summertime.

Go to a different home depot or different hardware store. They have lazy staff that aren’t willing to help and take forever. Don’t recommend going to this location. Who ever is managing this store should be terminated and replaced with someone that knows how to be efficient with customers

Just too much junk , quality is not there anymore.Often hit or miss on the items you need.One of many examples is selling a name brand product but not all the necessary hardware specific to the brand.

We are planning to clean and plant our backyard garden. It have a lot of dress and some tall grass that need to trim. We have no tools or equipment to used , so me and my dad went to this store. They have lot of tools and equipment for gardening so I think we bought all of we need. I grab one cart before we went ot the area of gardening tools. There are lot of people in some section so its hard to push the cart. When I looked at my dad I can see that he knows what he purchased. It seems that we need those.After we bought tools we wen to the pot area. There are lot of pot to choose. Some of them are colorful and some are simple. Since my dad knows that mom like the plain color he grabbed the white pot. After he put it in the cart we went to the counter. I can say that this store was good.

Came in to get some 2x6 wood for my company. We had to purchase a lot of it and cut it. The staff was very helpful with getting it cut for us.

Challenge was to put a window AC unit in a brick wall. Home Depot rental for an electric Concrete saw and purchased treated lumber. It's in, need to trim it out. Second weekend task was build a deck garden for my home bound mother. Again Home Depot had what I needed including lumber, fasteners and plants. Mid May project. Productive 24 hours with some great family helpers. August 3rd added an after photo of the deck garden. Thanks to Home Depotn, Miracle-Gro fertilizer and Sevin insect repellent the garden has filled in beautifully.

A great store for all of your handyman needs. It is well organized and well maintained. The employees are helpful and knowledgeable of the products. The selection is great and if they don't have it then you probably don't need it. The prices are fair and reasonable.

This Home Depot has the most inventory. I go to a lot of Home Depot’s in the suburbs and this one is always the most active. There are always people in every aisle to help you if you have any questions. I came to return a vanity cabinet and they accepted it with no hassle. I appreciate not having to have to insert my card back in to finalize the return.

I wrote a 5 star review 3 yrs ago (now deleted) but this is according to my recent experience.There are a few things that I'm unhappy about Home Depot in Carol Stream. First, the young kids at the return counter are very rude. Second, the cuts done at the Home Depot for my $65 each for 3/4" plywood (3 4X8 sheets) were all messed up. When i said 15", it is 15" on 1 side and 15 3/4" on the other end and likewise when i said 18", it is exactly 18" on one end and 17" something on the other end. At the home improvement store, i expected the cuts to be straight. Obviously the cut products cannot be returned. I think they need to hire someone who knows how to operate that machine. If you read my message still here and plans to go to Home Depot for wood because they would cut it for you and you can fit it in your car, then measure it before you pay for it. You can get it cut but if they mess it up, leave it by the aisle and walk away and don't pay.

This is one of our go to hardware stores. I like the layout, price, selection, and convenience of home Depot. We recently had to replace both our clothes dryer and dish washer and we bought both at home Depot. We liked being able to see the selection of appliances in person, but found ourselves reviewing details and comparing information online anyways. I did like that some of the appliances (I think KitchenAid) had QR codes directly to reviews It was also slightly hard to find a person to check it (altho that could just be the timing of when we went there). We bought the second appliance online from home Depot. Both options allowed super convenient installation and haul away of our old appliances.

Ridiculous and Deceptive perennial guarantee.The store associate was awesome but the policy not so good.The fruit tree I bought last summer died on me. Tried to exchange per their one year guarantee and they were out of the size I bought.Why guarantee a product if i wouldn't be available the next year?I know I lost my receipt, but I was told I could exchange as long as I had either the receipt or the pot that the tree was in when I purchased it.I guess the purchases I made the past few years wasn't worth anything to them.Taking my business elsewhere, stay away unless you able to keep your receipt for a year.

Christian in the garden center was so helpful today. He helped us with our perfect Christmas tree and was so patience when my over tired toddlers were acting absolutely awful. He never made me feel embarrassed which I really appreciated since we had been in the hospital all morning with our youngest and our older children had been waiting all day to get our tree. Thanks again for all of your help!

We go there not expecting much. This time was very different. Elizabeth our cashier took her time with me and didn’t rush me. She was super friendly and knowledgeable. The gentleman who was cashiering next to her was happy to help every other customer. I didn’t catch his name but he also took the time to cover the bed of the rental truck we got and helped my husband loaded up our purchase. They were extremely courteous. We would definitely just come back for the two of them! Thank you both.

We do a lot of shopping at Home Depot. When we downsized from a 2 story home to a 1 story condominium a few years ago, everything in the condo needed to be updated. Our kitchen, both bathrooms, both bedrooms, and all the flooring throughout, came from Home Depot. Their experts in each department worked closely with us and we are so happy with everything!!

I shop at the Carol Stream, Illinois store and am I ever impressed. Marvelous employees who greet us when they see us come in—many know us by name. When employees who know even don’t know us see me looking for something, will stop and ask if I need help. Then if they see me again, they ask if I found what I was looking for and ask do I need anything else. One person who helps us a lot in electricity and plumbing—okay, he helps us wherever he sees us is Steven. He really knows the store and is very willing to patiently help us find exactly what we need—we can tell that he cares. We have been very loyal to the store because of that and have spent many thousands of dollars there. The last time we went, a woman we don’t know started acting like we were criminals. I believe that woman was a good person, but I didn’t understand what was driving that treatment. We were really taken aback because we’ve proven our honesty over and over. When I saw a familiar lady (who also has helped us a lot in the past and really seems to care about the customers) walk by—named PATTI, I begged her to come and help us. She was awesome, kind to the woman who had been assisting us and to us, professional, and quietly affirming as she helped us solve a problem with our order and set things right again. SHE WAS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! She not only saved the sale, but she saved our business. We will return to shop there again. (Later, we found out that there has been a lot of theft at stores like Home Depot, so that explained the “criminal treatment” by the first woman.) Thank goodness for people like Patti and Steven. Great store! Thanks for all of the other lovely people you hire there. It’s an exceptional store!

A guy named Richard helped me to figure out what I need for a DIY project involving PVC pipes and wheels to make a custom wheelchair for my ferret. He works in the plumbing dept and I couldn't have done it alone! When I finally finish my project, I will post some photos. I truly hope that they appreciate him at this store and treat him right to keep him around because every store needs a Richard! Seriously.

Appliance delivery is a nightmare. Bought washer and dryer. Waited 4 weeks for Saturday delivery. Got 6 emails with redundant instructions about how to prepare for delivery day. Installers came and within 2 mins refused to install because they claim water valves, which are only 10 years old, are too old and will leak. This is not in their installation guides even though installers said it happens with nearly every delivery of washers!! Installers said I could have installation next Sat after plumber replaces valves. I called for delivery and, nope, another 2 weeks. They are inflexible snd inconsiderate. They don't care and don't actually try to find solutions. Called 3 times and was on hold a total of 75 mins and was hung up on once. I'm so angry. I will never vuy appliances from HD again.
