They took good care of our sweet Coco! She had bladder stones. Surgery went well.They are kind of expensive but excellent service and communication skills with the doctors. Some front desk people are rude and in a rush when we called with questions a couple days after surgery

Do NOT take your animals here. I started taking my 10+ year old cat here to ensure he stays healthy as he continues to get older. And this vet ALWAYS told me to do more and more EXPENSIVE diagnostics because they could never find the root cause of his sickness. They recommended Antibiotics, shots, medications, Xrays, bloodwork, a new expensive diet, EVERYTHING they could possibly recommend to make the most money off me when they knew damn well they should've put my cat down. they should know when its time and when an older animal can no longer be saved but they continues to play games with us. This place just toys you around and does not get to the point because they want to make the most money off you. and they prescribed my cat appetite stimulant on a wednesday, I ordered it ASAP from them because my cat wasnt eating and I paid 1 DAY shipping. I HAD TO CALL THEM ON FRIDAY asking where the medicine is because my cat wont eat, and doctor Contreras said he forgot to put the order through. My cat hadnt eaten in days and the doctor forgot to put in my order for appetite booster? I never got that medicine before my cat died. Sad. I spent $1,300 + on my cat here who any real vet would've unfortunately told us he was dying. But no, Carol Stream Animal Hospital toyed us around to get every penny from us before our cat passed away. Please don't take your animals here. Rest in Peace, Kitty.

We called around the area to 8 animal hospitals when our cat swallowed a decent sized toy. 7 places were unable to do anything and said they were “booked”. Carol Stream animal hospital was also completely booked but understood the urgency, took our angry (he was vicious outside of our home) kitty and were able to help us get the toy out very kindly and efficiently. Extremely impressed and we have found our new vet going forward. Thank you!!

I was a new client, panicking a little of course, and Diane was really great on the phone. She just kind of makes you feel like you're going to feel better, and everything's going to be okay. The nurse was gentle and thorough. Her calm helped my anxiety. She was kind and nice to talk to. The doctor I was going to see was just a little backed up, it was a BUSY Saturday morning after all. Another doctor stepped right up and gave my pet and I a wonderfully gentle experience. I sincerely appreciate the call back from the doctor to check on my pet today. It made me feel safe. Thank you to all the staff for being so good to me and my pet. We appreciate the great care beyond words. Thank you for everything you do!

Wonderful staff and doctors. Curbside service is a life saver for me and my reactive pups. Instead of trying to keep them from going crazy in the waiting area I can wait with them in my car until they call to let me know the exam room is ready. Fantastic! Also curbside pick for prescriptions. The facility is clean, updated and well organized. Calls are returned in a timely manner and appointment reminders are a nice touch. Highly recommend this clinic.

I came in with no appt and not very much money and they were so kind to take me in and see me. I really appreciate it so much! I was getting turned down by so many places I just needed to make sure my kitty was okay! Regardless of the outcome, the fact the vet and team cared enough to just give me some peace of mind meant the world to me. Thank you for seeing Louie last minute and working with me. This vet has seen all 3 of my animals. The receptionist is not friendly or helpful at all. They are slow. Building is dirty / old. I never get my pets issue resolved. Tried another (family) vet close by and I realize this place is about $$$ more than helping the pet get healthier . The woman vet was nice and so was the vet assistant. You do not feel like you get yours monies worth here. They always keep it open ended. Waste of time & money.

We adopted an elderly cat from the shelter in December 2020 and have loved our experience at Carol Stream Animal Hospital! Our cat had some eye issues requiring medication which was so easy to get through them. Sadly, she was later diagnosed with diabetes. We have worked VERY close with Dr. Contreras, with bi-weekly phone conversations monitoring her levels and insulin. Sadly, we made the difficult decision to put her to rest. Dr. Contreras has always been honest and supportive of what ever decision with made, providing his expertise along the way. He knew how hard it was for us to imagine bringing her in for euthanasia, and even recommended a home euthanasia company to make it easier for us. I cannot say enough about Dr. Contreras and the entire staff here. Their knowledge and true emotional support is so genuine. Our cat hated the drive to the vet, but loved the people and was so relaxed around them each time. I think that speaks volumes about their care and personalities. We will only be going here with our future pets because the trust is there and they have proved that they have exceptional care and huge hearts!

We brought our dog in for surgery here. We were told the surgery went well, but she couldn't wake up from the anesthesia and she died on their table. We're still paying off our credit card bill for the thousands they charged us for this. She was only 8 years old and we miss her so much.

My original review was hidden. I gave a lot of details in that one, but the ultimate point was that they operated on my dog, she lost blood, and they didn't have a way to give her any blood to save her. They wanted us to drive our dying dog 50 minutes away in the backseat of our car to get a blood transfusion. She died on their operating table before we could get to her. Draw your own conclusions about the level of their care if you're considering getting surgery here. Also take a look at the careless way they shaved her before an ultrasound (pictured). I will never forgive myself for bringing her here.

Really disappointed with the service here. Refused to let us come in with our puppy and he, according to them, was aggressive and acting out so he needed to be sedated during visits.Spent all this money on sedatives which didn’t even work for him. Was thoroughly confused by his behavior there because he is so well rounded and adjusted at home and around new people (albeit a little shy at first). Very angry at the comments made about how they assumed he was going to be aggressive in the future and he’s trending to become an aggressive dog in general. incredibly judgmental considering they only knew him from those visits.Took the pup to a new vet and literally no issues, not one. The new vet even said he had no behavioral issues she was concerned about! I feel terrible bringing my new puppy here for his initial experiences with the vet. IMO go elsewhere for care of a new puppy/any dog going through a fear period.

Went there for the first time with our first puppy together. The staff was very friendly and professional. You could tell that they took their job seriously just by how they cared for our fur ball. The questions that they asked, the answers to the questions that we asked..yeah..we were impressed. And so now it looks like we found our vet!

I am new to the area. I’ve asked friends and family if they were happy with their vet. No one could give me a definite answer. That was troublesome, since my babies (Shi-tzu’s) are our life.Most answers were I wanted someone that was close to home. So that’s what I did, I researched vet close to home the reviews said enough. My experience with Dr. McCarthy has been ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING!!The Entire staff from the 1st phone call through the meeting of the Doctor. I couldn’t be more pleased.Our babies are in LOVING hands!!

I've been taking my 16 year old cat here for a little over a year. We switched initially because of my daughter's recommendation and it was closer to home. We hated leaving our previous vet of almost 14 years, but our cat was getting so stressed with the longer car ride that we needed to find a closer vet. The folks at Carol Stream are so caring and knowledgeable, they made the decision to change much easier. They do a great job caring for her many Senior cat needs and issues. The staff there is truly the best.

Carol Stream animal hospital was the only veterinary clinic that made itself available to us because they offer urgent care appointments. We LOVE Carol Stream Animal Hospital. I switched my dog to them about two years ago & have had nothing but positive experiences here. They are extremely knowledgable, but also kind and compassionate towards your pet. They are awesome about getting you in quickly if your pet is sick or hurt (this is why I switched from my old vet - when my dog is hurting I don't want to wait 3 days for an appointment!).

I love CSAH. All the staff is very friendly and helpful. Dr.Contreras really cares about his animal patients as if they were his own pets. My dog is always so excited to go and say hello to all of the friendly staff there. This is the best animal hospital in all of Dupage County.

Over a month ago, I woke up to my pet chinchilla making a horrible noise. Anyone who has had an exotic pet knows that a good vet is difficult to find at the best of times. But she needed help and Carol Stream Animal Hopsital was literally only a few minutes away.They not only got me in the same day, they treated Norma Jeane as if she were their own pet. She ended up needing surgery a few weeks later after the initial problem was treated and Dr. Gonnering couldn't have been more helpful. She not only understood that Norma Jeane was family but that I was also concerned. My little furry one has made a complete recovery and I know it's in no small part to the wonderful staff there. From the receptionists to the techs, they all deserve a huge thank you.If I or anyone I know in the area needs a vet, I am definitely recommending Carol Stream Animal Hospital.
