Anna was our waitress she was doing it all. Taking orders, handling 6 tables, clearing and cleaning tables, prep cook, and checking people out. Not one customer suffered she was tremendous we were super impressed. Food was huge portions and very good see the pics in attaching. It is a hidden gem and worth the 15 min ride for us. Good home cooked food with great service from a small town mom and pop joint. Highly recommend checking out this hidden gem!! I had the AUCE ribs for 13.95, wife had Reuben, kids had burger, shrimp, and hot beef. Soups were great too. So refreshing to find good food and good service at a small town restaurant.Dietary restrictions: Plenty of optionsParking: 25 to 30 spotsKid-friendliness: Yeah very large meals for the kids

Glad to try this place, I did my normal thing and scanned Google photos for this place to pick out something that looks good. I saw the fish and shrimp and though fish looks good. So I ordered the fish and chips. 1st out was a really good fresh garden salad and some fresh bread. Then came the fish and chips....a complete fail. Frozen fish squares. Definitely not the fish I saw in the photos. Wouod ingo back, yes and try something besides fish and chips.

Five star service with average food and large portions. Waitress Brenda is great. Awesome service! Clean restaurant. Free WiFi. Food is common diner stuff, family style dining. Big humongous portions at average quality. Better than Denny’s but nothing to rave about, especially at the price. Breakfast is $7.95-$10.95. Honestly expected a bit higher quality food at this price point, omelette was actually a scramble, but it tasted good and the hash browns were done perfectly. Pancakes were quite dark on bottom and syrup was corn syrupy fake stuff. Bathrooms very clean, newer fixtures, and overall a good place to eat. Breakfast served all day. Kids menu and senior options. Updated interior.

Eggs weren’t cooked raw (sunny side up) and when I explained it to the waitress she said “yes it’s supposed to be like that” when you would see the egg white raw all slimey, Orange juice taste sour and bad, also waitress assumed my son was a girl because he has long hair even though his father was right next to him with Long hair in a low pony. My son was bothered he’s 5, coffee was good😏

Traveling for baseball. Breakfast was very good, hot and tasty. My son had the "Man's breakfast" with pancakes. I had a Denver omlet, hash browns, and a side of biskits with gravey. The restaurant is a bit dated but very clean. The service was excellent along with the food. If you are staying at "Camp Komfort" RV campground why drive to Bloomington for breakfast? Just go here as it is a mile and half away, Awesome!

We ordered the club sandwich and the cheeseburger with fries and their delicious beef vegetable soup. Everything was high quality and tasty! We were traveling and tired of fast food. This place is okay. I've given it several shots.The food is hit and miss.I don't like disparaging small business owners- but at the end of the day, I have had several very disappointing meals here, be it the meat loaf, or any of the egg selections, which were respectively, nearly inedible, or far over done to the point of being crispy.one of the several meals I had was an excellently made rare steak. The baked potato is good here as well.

The service was fast and friendly. The portions were very generous. I ordered a salad and the waitress offered to add chicken at no up charge. The French onion soup was homemade as was the bread that was served with meals. This restaurant was a great diner experience and their menu is large.

This restaurant is a GEM. a hidden secret. I was visiting family in the area and had pretty low standards for the restaurants we might visit. This place surpassed my expectations and would have if it was in a big city with a lot of competition. The food was so tasty, good portions, and hot. the service was fast, and friendly.Get an awesome hot sandwich like the hearty beef dipper or the grilled Reuben. Get the French onion soup and be really satisfied! Best restaurant in the area. Busy corner is ok, but this wins by far.

Great service for our party of 10. Always had coffee in my cup! It’s not strictly a menu item, but they served me chicken fried steak breakfast style with hash browns, eggs, and biscuits and gravy. Some of the best I’ve ever had!

I feel as though 3 stars is kind of me. The food was alright. Sort of what I expect for a roadside place like this. I'll stop again if I'm hungry but won't go out of my way. I would have been happier if the owner/cook was wearing the required head cover while he prepared the food. He had nothing on his head. I didn't like that. The meatloaf was nothing to write home about. The pie was from the grocery store, the coffee was Folgers-like that sat too long on the warming plate. Refill sir? No thanks!Service was... ...the kid had to do too much. He covered the carryout, the phone, the dine-in customers (all 5), while two senior staff sat and rolled flatware in napkins. He really needed a hand but didn't get one. He was very pleasant but needed several reminders from me because he was over-tasked. There is no-way this is a five star place. I don't know why so many people rate it that high. I guess everyone wants to be nice.

My daughter in law and I were traveling yesterday and stopped to eat at Charlock Family Restaurant. We loved our food and the people who run it are very friendly. They were serving lunch but we had breakfast! We watched the food others ordered and it all looked wonderful, especially the fried chicken. I hope to make a special trip with friends!!
