Since they got a new manager in the carlinville IL store service has improved and they keep up with the stocking better.rarely do you find a store that does such a turn around keep up the good work!!!!

The manager is beyond rude. I’ve been coming here everyday for 2 years and she will still follow me around the store like I’m going to steal something for the first time in two years. Even worse, they constantly put out food that is WAY out of date….milk, chicken salad, they carry these pre made salads that are good, except most of the time they are 2 weeks past use date. It’s done on purpose because there are newer ones in the back. That’s even IF they even have what you want stocked. The other day they had no Benadryl, no nasal spray and no hamburger buns. If there were any other option in town, I’d NEVER walk into this store again. I get that they work these people to death and there’s no time to stock shelves but, if you hate your job this much, QUIT.

The staff is really nice and it's easy to find stuff. It's a little outdated but it's not dirty. Just a little run down. Sometimes it takes just a few moments to get in and out, but other days they have an issue with the checkouts and it takes much longer than it should to pay and leave. Overall a good place to get the odds and ends you need.

Great place to shop. Love the remodeling. Would like more cashiers when a huge line. I saw the assistant manager complaining to the manager while she was shopping in store off duty. He should have stepped to check out the people standing in line. And saved the complaining for the office behind closed doors.

Prefer going here over Walmart even though Walmart is closer to us. Incredible prices. Pretty quality stick too! The only drawback I could think to mention is that stock is a little limited, but DG is a small store so not even a real complaint!

Customer service was great!!!Only problem I had was I could not purchase a credit card. The checkers tried bout 5 times on each check out and it just wouldn't sell it to me.Thanx for trying so hard, Y'all are GREAT!!!

The store could definitely use some revamping, but you can't beat the courteous and helpful service that the employees of this store provide to the customers. This store seems to always have anything you need in-stock.

Great for a quick come in and grab what you need stop. Could use someone at the register all the time, I usually have to wait for the cashier to come up from somewhere else in the store

Shop here quite frequently. Tried to return 2 items that didn't fit..Due to having no receipt, I couldn't get my money back. I've never returned anything before..I am a knownCustomer and I was quite upset over their policy.

That Dollar General store doesn't carry the right seasonings..they don't have basil,the only stuffing flavor they have is Chicken,they have no cranberry sauce, and they have poor selection of yogurts

Dollar general is great. Selection has grown over the years and there app and digital coupons make it easy to save even more money.

Rude unhelpful grumpy old ladies so don't expect much past ringing u up and don't dare ask them how use their app for their coupons or anything to do with that they will tell u to do it yourself
