Disturbing is the only word I have to use to describe the produce selection. I was looking for some grapes and some apples. What I found was a produce section that looked to be tantamount to a food desert - bin after bin of moldy, rotten fruit. and vegetables that look to be a week past expiration. The management should be ashamed. Seriously.

I was giving a 3 only because I came in full of sunshine. I was very friendly to my cashier. In return, I was greeted with grumpy passive-aggressive service. I know we all have bad days, especially in customer service careers. However, you gotta remember that your survival must depend on that paycheck. It's us, the consumers that keep businesses flowing. Without us, your store will get canceled and have to close. Look around it is happening everywhere. Especially in the town of Carbondale. Other than this, the meat here does, looks fresh. They also have canned veggies for 79 cents. I haven't tried them yet, but that's a good deal. Thank you, and please do better. We want a happy community.

Fair prices on food. Love this place, but the black older gentleman never smiles or welcomes you or anything! He has been there awhile. Maybe he is burned out. Everyone else is always so friendly and helpful. Had to wait in line a bit because something was going on with a customer's card. They did open another register, though. The young black man handled it well. He is always friendly!

This store is horrible! Went into the store on Saturday for bananas, they were were all very overripened! Went back on today, Tuesday, the same bananas were there for sale! The watermelon that was sliced for sale looked spoiled, and it was green! The cashier had horrible manners, never acknowledged me, except to say what my total was, handed me my change, never said 'Thank You', or anything. The selections leave a lot to be desired. Wondering how this store is still in business. I like the idea that it's in walking distance for me, but I will NEVER shop there again!!!!!!The only reason I gave it 1 star, is because I wasn't able to give 0 stars!!!!!

Umm, it's a Save a Lot, not a Whole Foods. That being said, the Latin food section is lit. Don't sleep on the donuts/muffins either. But no, this is a very basic grocery store with some bargains, especially in the frozen foods area.

I love this store. It's always so clean, and they have good deals on common household goods. They also have interesting international products and fresh produce. I found a spice I fell in love with and my roommate's favorite chips. They are able to keep prices low with self bagging and it's a bargain. The employees are friendly and always a pleasure. Thanks for the mobility carts that are always charged and working. Local big box stores can't do the same.

There seems to be a steady decrease in the attitudes of the owners and the employees. The store is no longer clean and you are hit with the smell of stale, spoiling vegetables. The once wonderful quality of greens, i.e kale, collard, mustard, turnip, has gone downhill. They are now placed in filthy, stained, broken tubs to wilt and turn brown, and none of the vegetables are misted anymore. The meat department is no longer the superior quality it once was. The shelves are dirty, sticky and blood stained and the smell is questionable at best. There is only one item I shop there for anymore because there is no other store in the area that carries the item. If it weren't for the importance of the item, or if it could be substituted, I wouldn't shop there anymore at all.

Save A Lot is a moderate sized supermarket mainly with a wide variety of groceries at very competitive prices. It's very central and easily accessable. The staff and management are doing a marvelous work to maintain stock levels even through the pandemic. Health safety measures are required and social distancing and wearing a mask are required, and that's great.Now, here's a greater Good News. God's unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own great and glorious family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave God great pleasure. Ephesians 1:5. That's how much God loves you, Repent, give your life to Jesus Christ and enter into God's glorious family right now. Prayerfully look for a Church where Jesus Christ and righteousness are preached, believed and lived or practiced and then get totally committed serving God there. You'd be glad you did, that's for sure!

Discount, off-brand, with occasional brand name mixed in, food. Good prices. Good quality meat in the meat department. Produce is usually fairly fresh. The store is kept clean, and the staff is typically very friendly. It would be better if the store was 24 hours, but its location prevents that from happening. It is usually a very pleasant shopping experience. And if you take a minute to look through the store, you will find better deals than usual.

Love the location and easy access. Prices aren't bad either. I just prefer thicker cuts of meat, but still, their's isn't bad at all for the prices. I'll always shop there and at Aldi's.

The product is what you would expect, basics and off brand items. The store is very outdated. I found it hard to navigate the boxes and stockers that filled the isles. I found the other shoppers to be exceptionally kind. As for the employees if this store, my cashier was extremely disrespectful and I was embarrassed and shocked by her behavior. BOTH times that I shopped here.

For the most part it's a good place to shop for cheap when in a bind. However the rice has plastic in it. Yes. I have bought it and noticed there were sticky strands which is not normal in rice and typically means plastic. Certain things you stay away from here but meats is usually ok. They have a wide array of items for purchase here so that's also a bonus.

I worked there for a couple of months I absolutely enjoy. The customers were great the staff was great unfortunately I was homeless at the time and at a point where I needed to move on with my life I would dearly love to go back there and work in that little store it was really great and as I said before I enjoyed it

Very dissatisfied, my family and I walked to this store as our car got serviced down the way. We asked if they had masks for sale. The manager said "we have single masks for $2." Let me clarify, they have a sign on the door "must ware mask" but they don't sell masks in a box, the manager opened a box of paper masks labeled "not for individual retail sales" proceeded to sell 5 masks @$2 each (the regular blue and white paper masks). When handed 2 $5 dollar bills she stopped and said "o that's 10.98, with tax." When my husband told the manager she was selling masks illegally she stated " take it up with the governor" I will nerve be shopping here again. Price gouging, illegal taxing, no complementary masks or hand sanitizer.

Disgusting store. Some of the fruits are old. The eggs, cheese, and bread are some strange brand not sold at Walmart or Kroger's.The orange juice tastes very strange. The meat tastes weird. The cashiers look like they came from the ghetto. They need to shut the place down ASAP.

For it being a Sav A Lot it surprisingly very good. Clean with a good selection. Employees are friendly and helpful. And believe it or not very good meat department with good prices and high quality meat.
