Today I went to the closest store to my home to get some puzzle books and a novel to read on the train. There was some pool and garden supplies on the sidewalk with a sign saying 70% of green dot. Not a single item had a green dot on it. I picked up three seed starting trays regularly priced for $6 from the table of 70% off garden supplies. I go in the store to get the things I wanted. At the register, the woman in front of me was buying some of the pool supplies that were 70% off. They rang up for 50% off. The poor kid who was the only worker in the store was apologizing for the error and even called the manager from his cell phone. She had him remove the items that were not marked correctly and had other issues with sales signs. My seed starter trays also rang up 50% off and the poor guy was not able to adjust the price even with the signs clearly showing 70% off for pool and garden since they didn’t have any green dots. I checked again as I left and there were still 70% off signs taped to the racks but nothing had a green dot. I stopped shopping at Dollar General for more than a year because of the poor service and conditions of the stores. I feel bad for the people who work in your stores. Bad customer service experience sucks for your workers and your customers. Do better. Chxx-Fil-A has a loyal following of customers because people know every time they visit, they can expect great customer service! Be better to people who spend their time and money in your store!

This dollar general has a worker who constantly put himself down talks about killing himself and complains about customers coming in. It has gotten to the point my wife had to walk out before she snapped on him. I myself don't like the atmosphere created by him the biggest problem is for some unknown reason not one time has a coworker or manager corrected him. Honestly it would be best for you avoid going to the Dollar General on Ramada Ln In Carbondale. Update since the last time I visited this particular Dg the worker still works there and still does the same incredibly depressing apparently Noone knows either how to tell him he's wrong and needs to change his attitude during work or they don't have the balls to fire him guess that's why I usually avoid that store. Management it's not looking too good that you don't correct him he deserves to lose his job.

The Cashier is extremely rude and has a bad disposition. When I would go into that store, at check out, I'd tell her thank you, she never respond. She heard, I would repeat myself. Jackie is rude and not friendly or polite at all.Once again her name is Jackie.

We were happy they were open until 9 pm on a Sunday because we were out getting supplies for an upcoming wedding. Everywhere else was either too expensive or closed. The sales clerk was wonderful as well. Her name was Ashley.

The store is never clean or organized. The staff need to learn how to put up freight and not leave u boats all over the place. Doesn't make for easy shopping for customers. It always feels dirty

Would give zilch stars. Was charged twice on my debit card, after the cashier had me run my card five times bc system was "messed up". I showed them my receipt. Time stamp. Online bank account. They couldnt do anything about it. They had me call corporate and waiting for that call. Now will call my bank for fraud alert. Trying to get $28.90 back on my card. Will be calling the BBB also.

The manager there that drives that white older suv is downright rude and hateful I seen her make a employee cry she needs to be fired asap!! Corporate needs to be contacted she is no good for the reputation of the store and how dare her treat people the way she does.I plan on calling corporate today on her I hope anyone else that sees this review and sees her behavior does to

I wouldve given 5 stars because of the large selection of items BUT the store was a tripping hazard in alot of the aisles mostly unstocked inventory but 1 in particular had stuff scattered on the floor down the whole aisle I didn't get a photo because my phone was dead

This one is more organized than the one on Giant City, but I've come in a few times to find no cashiers available and waited at the checkout for about 5 minutes with my son before setting my items on the conveyor belt and leaving.

Cashier was very rude to me and yelled at my 84 year old mother. This is the second time this has happen . Management should do something about this. Her name was Dane I think.... When i asked her name she turned away so was hard to hear. Terrible customer service

Dollar General on New Era Rd in Carbondale IL is a total disaster! Nothing is organized and the floors are full of merchandise that has been thrown on the floor!! I've been to many yard sales that were more organized!!They need a new manager that can actually "manage" the store!!! No stars!!!

Pitiful. The parking lots looked like a war zone with all the potholes. The interior was not organized. The staff seemed friendly, but the register wouldn't work. Corporate needs to invest some money back into the store to make it nicer. Pitiful.

Small store full of essentials for pretty much any thing you might need. Specials aisle and seasonal stuff are always changing. The staff are helpful most of the time but sometimes get lost in the store.

Typical Dollar General. But they had the staff in masks and the lanes were marked for directional path. Wish the aisles could be wider.
