Both Steve and the Mrs. are wonderful people and very knowledgeable. Not everything we need is purchase-able at Walmart and driving to Peoria or Pekin is not always ideal. They can be a bit pricey at times but the investment into a pet should never be cheaply done. I recommend them all the time as a go to place for advice and the things someone needs that are hard to find.

I was pretty impressed with this store. Being new to town, I only just learned of the existence of Happy Hounds and it's a bit of a blessing. I'm feeding an old Turtle and she much prefers live food when I can get it. Prior to discovering Happy Hounds, I had to travel at least forty minutes one way and in the winter I limit my driving to going for things I can't do without. My girl will be thrilled to finally see live crickets again. The rest of the store was nice and seemed to be thoughtfully laid out and well stocked. This will not be my last trip to Happy Hounds.

Place was very clean. Beautiful fish. We bought a beta a snail and a plant. Would have gave five stars if my plant wasn't damaged by the knot in the bag and also wasn't bagged in water so with the other 2 bags during the trip home the stem broke. Wanted to love it for convenience sake but lack of variety on live feeders my broken plant had to give 3. Will probably be back for plants but will ask for it to be in a water bag.

The gentleman that helped me was very informative about starting a fish tank. Things i didn't even know. Definitely will go back after my water readings are ok.

Love! Love this place. We have a very large dog and bathing at home is a serious problem. So these folks have accommodated us hound owners and set up a self grooming service. Everything to groom your furbaby is there. From premixed shampoo and conditioner to tons of clean towels ,dryer,nail clippers its all there and extremely affordable. Now if the dog was just as excited I was.

Friendly staff and a great place to get pet supplies or have your dogs nails trimmed. My dog hates having her nails trimmed and the staff take the time to ensure that she is comfortable. The staff really seem to care about their clients 2, 4, 6, 8, or no legs.

Support small businesses!Even though they didn't have exactly what I needed, I bought some dog treats. They were different than the usual fair from big box and chain pet supply stores and very fairly priced.One of my dogs has a poultry allergy, another has a fish allergy. It's difficult to find treats and even food without one or the other included.The ingredients were all pronounceable and my little 4 leggers loved them.

WENT THERE AND GOT FISH AND FOUND OUT THAT THEY ALL HAVE ICH FISH DISease which has killed over more then half of my Aquarium I GOT FISH From Petco Previously and they were all fine until i added HAPPY HOUNDS!!!!!!FISH OVER 50 DOLLARS!!!! FOR FISH THAT HAVE BEEN DYIN +KILLIN AND INFECTING THE PREVIOUS FISH!!!!......DO NOT BUY FISH FORM THIS PLACE!! NOT HAPPY.

I always buy my two geckos food here. They sell you a lot of mealworms for a fair price! They also have crickets for a cheap price. Plenty of options for new hides. Bought one the other day and my geckos love it!
