Prices are appropriate (and an app is available). The only portion of the stock that I found was slightly higher than I am used to was the sodas, and if you time out what deals are available on a given week, you probably won't notice this significantly.Selection of produce is clean, well stocked and the temperatures in the cooler are exactly where they're supposed to be. Similarly, when I visited the meat sections, the cuts were all fresh, properly sliced, properly sealed and the coolers were at and below the needed temperature. As a former butcher's assistant, I am aggressively picky about my meat departments and will refuse to shop in grocers where I find these lacking. I found nothing inappropriate about what I saw here, and the prices are what I expect in 2024.Overall, the selection of goods is much larger than I expected in a local grocer, which was a pleasant surprise. It is larger than I'm accustomed to in Detroit and there's plenty here to choose from. If you're going to shop here, get the app and use that to keep abreast of current prices/deals.Please keep in mind, however, that the pharmacy is a little thin, so this is not a first choice for medications.

Been around for awhile now. Highly recommend if your close by or live in the area. Even if your visiting definitely should go support. Great business and atmosphere. Very clean and safe. Employees are well put and organized. Understands the true meaning of customer service. Products are always neat and well put. Produce is always top tier. Save to consume and get your local groceries if you ask me.

Pete’s Fresh Market, located in Calumet City, sold me molded and outdated food. This isn’t the first time this has happened. I was just there a few days ago to purchase Beyond Burger patties and had to put it back in the fridge because the expiration date was expired. I would definitely recommend double checking because someone could get sick.

I’ve been coming to this Pete’s location for years and have never had a problem. I’m checking out with Andru T. and the lady in the picture starts running behind me like she’s on some kind of drugs screaming as I’m getting back in line acting crazy her hate card showed today working in this neighborhood as well not the first time I’ve seen her do this but the attack was real. Y’all food might spoil in a day or two FDA needs to be in there asap be careful. So everyone is looking as I’m walking back in line to pay for my groceries. I’m disputing my charges because this was the worst treatment ever. Then the workers don’t speak English to help you overall worse experience.

Pete’s is a really nice grocery store. They pretty much have everything you could want. Once you get passed the fact its in an area that’s not considered “safe” you will be presently surprised. The vegetable section is massive and filled with every kind of green leafed vegetable and fruit you could imagine. They have a great cold cut meat and cheese section.They also have homemade sides like slaw and beetroot salad etc. There’s also a great looking sushi section where they make it fresh in front of you. And after all this there os the meat section and the frozen food section and of course canned food and boxed food. There is also fresh made bread and donuts,cakes,cheese cakes and flowers and last but not least they have a massive liquor section.Finally the staff are helpful and check outs are always fast and ladies there are friendly.Try it out and you won’t. Be disappointed

I got 3 items from the Deli, Chicken Pasta, 4 pc. BBQ chicken and Banana pudding, it cost me $45 dollars. The food is good but the prices are extremely high.

Petes have been my go to place for grocery shopping for over 20 years. For about the last 5 years I feel like I go there because they are the lesser of the two evils. I've noticed outdated products and bad looking and smelling meats on several occasions. It's time for me to go vegetarian and grow my own food instead of choosing the lesser of the two evils

Thank you Pete's for making my family's Thanksgiving Day, Memorial .! I had no time to cook so I came to the cooked food/ hot Deli section. Each dish I chose was excellent .. especially the macaroni with the shrimp! Everything perfectly seasoned, not salty! Prices were reasonable, so thank you for rescuing my Holiday! 5 ***** Stars!

Pete’s has almost everything I need when it comes to groceries! And they have a lot of unique food / drink items or related items that you usually don’t find any place else in your regular chain grocery store. Pete’s Environment is always neat, clean and the item are always organized. Most of the time, the cashiers are always pleasant. I usually do not have to come in contact with any other employees because everything is clean and stacked all the time.

Pete's Fresh Market is one of My favorite places to shop be cause you can pick up a cooked meal and all of their meats are fresh. You can generally find what you need. Pete's is very very expensive & their produce section isn't what it used to be, choices are limited. Parking is frustrating especially for us seniors. Carts are rarely available in store.If you want quality, come prepared to pay for it at Pete's 😉

Pete's has become my new go to place for fresh fruits and vegetables. You'll find any ingredient you need whether you want to cook Latin, Caribbean, Soul food, or something very American. The store offers a wide variety deli meats and cheeses, seafood, and meat. The store has good weekly specials on a variety of items. And affordable prices overall. And, you can't ignore prepared pizza, juicies, sandwiches, salads, and hot entrees. I picked up a lunch of jerk rice with shrimp, asparagus, and a sausage with peppers. Delicious!!

A nice clean store but the lines were ridiculous today. The lines stretched from beginning of the aisle towards the end of it. I just went for a cake so they should have a line for people with few items because everyone had carts full of stuff and the wait was annoying. I guess the day before thanksgiving could be the cause but it was 8am. I definitely will be back

Yesterday I went to this Pete’s to buy a case of essentia water, as I do every week. As the cashier scanned the water, I noticed the price rang up as 44.99 to a discounted price of 41.99. I asked the cashier if that was correct because I come in here every week and buy this water and it’s 28 dollars. She said the price was correct and that it was on sale today. I decided not to get the water, not only because of the price but because I don’t want to feel like I’m being cheated where I spend my hard earned money. It makes me wonder how many other “sales” you have had!

They have just about what you need for your cooking needs . Very well stocked . Only thing I saw too many employees running around , blocked isles with carts,a bit much for me . The prices were kind of high $40.00 for a 10lb bucket of Chitterlings . Ridiculous 😜. But other wise ,I guess you'll find what you need for a meal

Fantastic selections on produces, meats, and seafood. Store is always well stocked and clean. Employees are always attentive, helpful, and provide customer services with a smile.Warning: The buffet is addictive. The salads, cooked meals, and deserts are spectacular and prepared with flavor and pleasing to the eyes and more so to the tastebuds. The varieties are endless. I appreciate gloves and hand sanitizers are provided for handling food. My only complaint is a store is desperately needed on NWI as I drive from Indiana, but it is definitely worth the once a week trip.

Over the years, I have shopped at Pete's in Calumet City for two reasons: (1) good looking produce, and (2) lower prices on said produce. However, on my last two visits, I found "lower prices" not to be the case; in fact, the prices were distinctly higher. Let me be perfectly clear, I have always shopped at Pete's for fruits and vegetables only, because their other products, i.e. canned goods, dairy, etc. have always been too high. After this last time, I do not see myself shopping there for produce except on occasion. I still have to compliment their food to go section, tasty and competitively priced with per pound pricing.

Purchased some Danish bacon from the deli on Friday night. Got up Sunday morning to cook breakfast for the family and the bacon was rotten. Smelling up my whole house. I have the receipt but the manager says they don't give refunds after 24 hours. How can you taste $100 worth of groceries in 24 hrs?

This store is nice, clean and organized well. The employees don't have an issue with helping you with anything, it is one of the nicest grocery stores I've visited and actually enjoyed in a very long time. Great Job Petes as of 3/10/24 I see the reorganization taking place & it's looking good👏🏾👍🏽

I use to work here yearsss ago and they treated me horribly as a worker and I was in line saw they still are mean to the workers that blk color telling them to clock out just mean still also tall manger years ago use say mean things soon I quit walking in shopping look who tried to talk to me one of married mangers but while I was working there super mean !! Stop treating your employees bad of color !! Someone needs say something!!!

Never have enough registers open. It’s 9:00am and 2 registers are open one is for 10 items or less I have been in line for 20min I asked if they could open other registers they said no not enough people were scheduled to work. If 2 lines are to the back of the store I think a manager should open a register. Definitely won’t be choosing this store to run into again.
