When Tom's Supermarket, the place that used to be in this building, closed down, the people of Brighton were deprived of a local place to get fresh meats and fruits and vegetables. Brighton needs a local grocery store so the people don't have to travel all the way to the next town to shop. So I was hoping that when the former Tom's building was used again, it would be used by another grocery store. But instead, Family Dollar decided to turn it into a Family Dollar/Dollar Tree hybrid location. This is not good. Brighton did not need another dollar store. Now the Dollar General has some direct competition, and the place itself is nice (even if it has little trace of what came before), but Brighton needed a supermarket. This is not that. Now Brighton is stuck with just another dollar store, and the town now has even less in it than 7 years ago.
