Great neighborhood grocery store. People are very helpful. Store is clean well maintained. Their Deli is pretty good. Berkots is known for there meat collection and quality.

Way to expensive. Bought some fruit last week, woke up to a kitchen with gnats. Have had to throw away a lot of meat recently. It looks good, but when u open it, it's nasty. This pertains to the location in wilmington, il. They've been caught putting new stickers on stuff to extend the shelf life.

I love the local Berkots. The meat sales are phenomenal, and high quality. The produce is very good. The cashiers are friendly, and always make conversation. They also offer good alcohol sales. Great place for quick shopping.

Handy and they have some pretty good products. But I call it the dollar more store... seems like everything is at least a dollar more than any other store. I do not recommend that chicken tenders or wings.They are not good and I've traveled the whole country

Store is always clean and staff is generally really friendly. Unfortunately, they don't always have things in stock and some items get overpriced, but that may be just part of the time we live in right now.

Love the boneless chicken wings!Only problem is they short every 1.25 lb container by 2oz (or one good size wing). They keep putting 1 lb 2.5 oz instead of 1 lb 4 oz ,which is 1.25 lbs.

I guess it’s ok for a quick stop, the weak link is the DELI-GUY, NO PERSONA, NO SPUNK, LACKADAISICAL ATTITUDE , TOTALLY USELESS FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Remember Helen? Every Deli had a little old HELEN that knew everything about the Deli and she’d talk your ear off while serving you, I really miss old Helen and her wonderful customer service.

Seems to be small but well stocked. Bakery and hot food area are dirty (wrappers everywhere, greese film over work area, cutting cheese and deli meat on same slicer) and always seem to have a fly problem. Rude employees. Lines are back up and cashiers are chatting with each other. Lady at the 15 items or less kept telling people to get out of her lane and go to other lanes that were just as back up. Put my basket up on the belt and cashier passive aggressively told me " jeeze you could have at least put the stuff on the belt for me" and proceed to talk with another customer instead of checking us out. I will definitely drive a little further to coal city next time.

This berkots is smaller compared to others I've been to but pretty decent selection of grocery items. The staff is always friendly and they have good deals on the meals in the kitchen a lot. Big Variety of different liquors and craft beers. Convenient for the area.

Used to work here! Workers are super polite and store is the perfect size to find just about anything. Dave, the manager, is very helpful and Is great with making schedules. He tries hard to keep the store looking good. I would recommend shopping at this store. The workers make Berkot’s a good shopping experience. Helpful, polite, and handles your needs quick!

So as someone who DOES live in braidwood, this store is convenient. It's usually a little higher in price then most places due to taxes but It beats the hell out of going to Morris Walmart or another berkots near by..... usually

I personally like the store. It's nice and clean and the staff is very friendly...but recently I walked in on a conversation between the manager named Dave and the customer. They were talking about doing some work around the store...Well the customer mentioned that he knows a great guy, an operator, union worker that can do the job...the manager Dave replied and I quote " Oh No We don't hire any union workers we do things the cheap way!"Personally I feel like we all go there and we all support the local business and he definitely shouldn't be saying stuff like that out loud because that makes me not want to go there ever again and support their high prices that they charge.SORRY ONE STAR FROM ME BECAUSE OF DAVE

I like the staff here a lot. Things are usually in stock, never had an issue with expired products. Only complaint is when they need more help at registers its not a priority.

BUYER BEWARE. Both Berkots in Wilmington and Braidwood donot check nor remove rotten outdated food from their shelves, especially produce. I have come home after shopping at Berkots only to notice my so called fresh mushrooms and lettuce were brown and slimy underneath. I have been at the checkout and noticed my strawberries were moldy. When I told the cashier I didnot want them, she said" that's fine, quite a few moldy strawberries have gone through the line today." REALLY??? My deli meat I purchased was rotten and slimy one day after purchase. I have taken chicken out of the bag to notice it was rotten, smelly and outdated. Last week they had Bays English muffins on their shelf that were moldy and outdated. It'sjust so disgusting and I'm so done with Berkots. It may be close, convenient but they are overpriced and sell rotten disgusting food. Don't waste your money and avoid getting botchalism and shop at the Aldi's on 102.

All the berkots I’ve been too I’ve never had such a bad experience until I went to the one in braidwood. The cashiers are very rude and never have employees. The manager is no better. There could be 15 people in line and nobody opens up a register. Always only 1 register open at a time. It’s terrible. You don’t see that in coal city or Wilmington.

The staff went above and beyond to help me on my last visit. They helped me load water in my cart. They fixed my total when my digital coupons were not coming off, and when the young man brought the groceries to my car he loaded everything in when he seen I was struggling trying to help him. It was the best trip ever. 1/26/19 late evening. Thanks everyone!

Most of the staff is nice but berkot's is an awful company. You don't want to buy anything from the store unless it's on sale otherwise there's a 90% chance you'll be paying 100% more over price than you would in other places.

Meat prices have soared quality has dropped produce department has old, moldy food very hard to find decent quality management and uppers need to step up. I only go once a week mainly milk and eggs now I'm forced to large chain Walmart for good prices and quality I would prefer to support local but local needs to care about it's community

I really like the hometown feel of these stores but feel like they're taking advantage of locals after buying every store. I hate getting scammed by the sales that are changed at the register with a 'oops we goofed' paper printed out. If you messed up take the sale posters down off of the products!!! Managers need to be held accountable!

I enjoy shopping at Berkot's in Braidwood. It is close to my new home and for it's size it has a very good selection of food ,good produce,bakery and spirits. The deli selection is stocked well too. Employees are nice and friendly. The store is clean and parking is great for the space.
