The campground host at Rend lake recommended this place, and she was correct! The fried chicken was moist and delicious. The apple salad was crunchy. It came with dessert. All for ten bucks

The service was excellent, the food came fresh and hot. I highly recommend the breakfast bowl. I chose scrambled eggs and bacon, no cheese and a biscuit instead of toast. Crumbled the biscuit, added it to the bowl. Love that the potatoes on the bottom had green peppers . Was absolutely delicious. The cook did an amazing job. Had a fantastic waitress.

Just wonderful place to enjoy. The staff is wonderful. Locals are friendly. Visitors all seem happy. Highly recommended. This place is six stars!! We stopped in on our way home after a 10 drive... In need of replenishment that didn't consist of food from a chain. After searching hard, we found this cafe. Where else can someone get an entire meal...I mean AN ENTIRE MEAL (dessert included) for eight dollars?! THIS PLACE! To top that off, it's mostly homemade! (the mashed potatoes were instant, for example)The atmosphere is homely and extremely relaxed. They have menus to peruse, but all around the restaurant there are white boards with the days specials which I assume must change. With a dinner purchase, THREE sides are included (so many choices) , a roll/cornbread, plus a piece of cake! Three portions were just right! It was a Tuesday evening around six and though it was busy, it was still very chill. The service was attentive but non invasive... Just an overall great experience!! The meatloaf was delicious! I couldn't believe the amount of food we had for the cost of around $20 before tip. (There were two of us)The server informed us that they are doing a remodel soon, so check if they're open... Apparently after Father's Day they'll be finished. But if they are, this is a for sure check-it-out spot if you want real food. It was a bit of a drive off I-64.. (maybe five minutes) but well worth it. We had no issues parking a large flat bed truck. Unfortunately the ice cream shack wasn't open... Maybe next time!

Good diner food with a friendly atmosphere and a mix of booth, table, and counter seating. Lots of rotating specials on whiteboards on the wall. Kid friendly with adequate parking. My kids loved the soft serve ice cream sundaes.It was busy when we arrived, which I consider a good indicator for local diners.They are in the process of remodeling (June 2022), so there is still construction work outside. The inside is complete, and is very clean and bright.Parking: Large lot with free parking.Kid-friendliness: Kid menu, small pizzas, high seats and kid risers, changing tables in the bathrooms. We found the corner booth perfect to corral our two young kids after a long car ride.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible parking lot, doors, seating, and restrooms.

A couple miles off hwy 57 but well worth the effort! Chrystal served up a delicious and filling breakfast at a value price and in record time. Full of locals and guys wearing camo, that is a great sign of a quality breakfast joint.

I had the Mushroom/Swiss burger, seasoned crinkle cut fries and drink.Burger was a little to dry for me!Fries were unevenly seasoned!All of my food was fresh and hot!All in all, it was very tasty and well worth the price!
