Hidden in the small town of bluff IL was a tremendous surprise. Great food super clean and home like sit down restaurant.Pork tenderloin was spiced perfectly. Sweet potatoe fries done to golden brown and lightly salted.I will find a way to get back here.

Don't know if they have new people or not but I checked my receipt for a to go order and they tried taking a $ 3.82 tip. Food was good but maybe train the people to use the register. Customers always check your receipts from anywhere this happens a lot more than you think these days.

The food is always good. Great selection for a small restaurant. The menu is updated frequently as the owner conduct regular taste testing with their vendors. Ice cream options are well above average. They have a once a month (seasonal) pizza night from a wood fired oven that is extremely popular. Orders should be phoned in well in advance.

Absolutely the best fish around on a Friday!! Great staff, always clean. All food has been great and good prices. Don't forget the creamy ice cream! As good as DQ!! Make the drive :)

Absolutely horrible! Price is outrageous. I got breaded chicken sandwich, was so burnt & dry couldn't eat it. Order of mushrooms, burnt to where there was no mushroom left. Asked for a go box so I could feed it to my cats. Never eat here again.

Placke's is a GREAT local small town business! The food is amazing! Our family, especially my children refer to Placke's as the "Ice Cream Shop". They love to head there for a tasty treat in the afternoon when they come home from school or on a hot summer day. We also like to take a night off from the routine once and awhile and enjoying delicious, reasonably priced food, a warm atmosphere, served and surrounded by a friendly staff!

Found Placke's on the suggestion of a nice lady. Catfish & Buffalo fritters + 2 sides for $8.50 is a bargain. The fish, baked beans, side salad (the size of most large salads) and coleslaw are delicious! Highly recommended!

Ice cream was good. Just had vanilla soft serve with stuff you could add. Banana splits, etc. Other food items looked and sounded good . Good service. Historic.reasonable prices.

Fish, wraps, burgers, soups, steaks, ice cream... just a little of everything. They even serve wood fired pizza on occasion, but you have to order about a day in advance. That's just how good it is.
