We had the most wonderful experience at animal control and adopted the BEST CAT. They made the process so quick and seamless. It was very inexpensive (about $20), and she already had all of her shots, registration, spayed, chipped, etc. She is a sweetheart and we will definitely adopt future cats from animal control.

So patient and kind with the animals. They really want what's best for these fur babies. Please shop rescue shelters and kill shelters first. These creatures deserve a 2nd chance!

Hard-working team dedicated to helping animals and reuniting lost pets with owners. They've assisted me with four feral/stray/lost cats by loaning me a trap and providing them a safe haven. Thank you MCAC!

Clean facility, animals have food and water, nice staff. I want to take all "available" kitties home with me. Pics of my cats. Mostly rescues, some RIP.

Update!!! Adopted the best dog in the whole world after being Dogless for 2 years. Dog dragged my goat off to kill it. Then continuously chased and slashed at my horses legs thru fence. Then dragged me down in yard by locking on my hamstring. Last straw. 25 year old young lady was petting him and he wanted in her lap. She let him. And then he tried to bite her in the face. Her whole face. Returned him and advised the grumpy chunky 50ish lady that he was not a candidate for rehoming. I bent to say goodbye to him and she dragged him with a rope thru the door. I said hey I wanted to say goodbye. She snarled I just did. Less than 4 days later, dog up for adoption again. Different name. Same dog. ( I kept this dog almost 4 months. Taught him all hand signals. And commands in a foreign language. My first dog I had 13 years. Next dog, 14 years. Trained dogs and horses with hand commands for the last 25 years). This dog is a killer of anything living. Please listen to this story and buyer beware. PS. The young man who works there is spectacular.

City of Bloomington! State of Illinois - you’re on notice. April 12 2023. A friend of ours received a tip from a concerned insider that this place receives stolen dogs and then sells them for profit - and further informed her that her missing/stolen dog is a victim and also provided photo proof! The director of the shelter is ignoring calls, and refusing to let them in to see the dog in question. A quick search reveals that this place has a history of this. Who is in charge here? Where is the Attorney General’s office on this??

“If I could give 0 stars” IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. do I start with lying about lost dogs in their facility to where you have to threaten police action? Trying to sell rare or akc registered dogs. Or should I start with if the dog doesn’t want to leave the kennel to use the bathroom it doesn’t. What about not scanning lost dogs for microchips? Looking up rabies shots and giving a second and or third rabies shot in a year. The staff do not interact with the animals or work with rehabilitation at all. This place really needs shut down. It’s truly sad.

This my OWN personal experience. If I could give zero stars I surely without question would. My dog was given away without my consent or knowledge and I’ve been trying to locate him endlessly. The person that I spoke with first told me that had received a dog that matched the description that I gave them turn around in the same breath and said they haven’t had that type of dog in “YEARS”! The person that gave my son away told me this is where it was taken so I drive all the way to the site just to be told they aren’t open to the public. So I send a picture and some slim younger looking red headed clueless person comes out looking like life is miserable comes out to speak to me. Not paying attention or taking anything seriously that am saying. Then end the conversation by saying I have to move my car. Your at work, on the clocking helping someone and you walk talking about your car? A complete mess that’s unorganized. These people don’t care about me and my search to locate my child and it’s sad.

Nice people who are in the doing the best they can with what they have available to them. We adopted a couple cats and the woman who helped us knew each cat's name, any past information, health status, etc without notes. Everyone wore masks and were very helpful.

McLean County is not just Bloomington/Normal. I live outside of town and was a little annoyed that I had to bring in a trapped animal to Normal and meet animal control. This animal bit me and needed to be tested for rabies. Although they had the lab results on Saturday, I had to contact them on Monday to get the results - wondering the whole time if I needed rabies shots. Why not notify me as soon as you get the results? The animal control guy was friendly and helpful, as he met me while I was in town to return my crate. But they need to do a better job at returning test results.

McLean Animal Control is a great place with a fantastic, hard-working staff. Despite not having a lot of funding, a person can walk in and tell that the animals are well cared for. The facility is also very clean and offers several volunteer opportunities!

The staff at MCAC did a great job on a limited budget. They adopted out 3 stay alley cats for us. Those cats are inside where they are warm and fed now,
