Green Top is affordable, local, fresh, organic, donates to local charities, *and* you don't have to be a member to shop there. There's nothing not to love. They always have fresh produce, meat, bread, and cheese from local farmers and bakeries. Their deli counter is always well-stocked with grab-and-go items if you're looking for a quick meal, and there's space in the store to eat if you have the time. They have a taco bar on Tuesdays and a vegetarian and non-vegetarian soup of the day. Some of their more affordable items include bulk goods (flour, oats, nuts, coffee beans, etc.) and canned goods. For example, a loaf of fresh bread from Central Illinois Bakehouse is around $4.50, comparable for what you'd pay for a loaf of ultra-processed sourdough from Jewel or Kroger. There's a good selection of wellness items, and always fun seasonal items. I do Christmas shopping there every year and stock up on fancy chocolates, Funks Grove items, and other edible gifts. You also don't have to do all your shopping at Green Top to support them and save money. For myself, I do about 25% of my shopping at Green Top and feel that it's good value for the money. I highly, highly recommend them!

Greentop Co-op has become such a part of our community. Everything from LOCAL produce, dairy and meats, to round up at the register for local charities, participating in parades, live music gatherings, tons gluten free and vegan items and my favorite fresh ground peanut butter. super overpriced produce but I respect the idea and atmosphere of the store. If aldi was opened I would've gone there but Green Top Grocery took care of me. Staff was friendly as well. Thank you for supporting local farmers

Excellent store! A variety of health foods! Focus , memory and cognitive supplements lions mane gummies ! Soaps that are made with 0 chemicals! I found a store that I don’t mind spending my money with!

Green Top is a great place to find locally grown produce and niche eco friendly items! There are certain items I can find here that aren’t available at other stores. They are also super friendly at the cash register and always seem to start small talk around the items I’m getting, even recommended other goods based off it! It’s the only place I get high quality shiitake mushrooms at lol

Great Co-op Grocery Store and Deli. Delicious soup. The food is fresh and local. Healthy foods and vegan options are available too. An excellent variety of beer, wine, and spirits.

Moving into the neighborhood and so excited to be close to this coop. The classic coop smell of spices and good food meets you the minute you walk in. Very well supplied, with a nice touch of gourmet pick me ups available for an easy bite to eat. Will be joining soon! Two Heads Consulting says YES!

To help them spread the word: you don't have to be a member/owner to shop! Great store for small grocery trips. I really liked the look of their produce. Prices are a little high, but pretty good for the local/organic/healthy options they offer. Really good options for craft beer and wine if you don't want to make the trip to Binny's.Checkout staff was very friendly and helpful. For bringing our own bag we got to donate to a local charity and they do a round up on your total that also gets donated. I wouldn't do my full grocery shopping here, but definitely a good place to get some great produce and organic/allergy friendly products.

Everyone was kind and helpful, and even went out of their way to help me. However, there arevery limited options to shop from. If you eat a specific/health conscious diet, this place is awesome. I love that they carry and support local produce, and their system for helping those who use LINK cards to match their dollars (up to $25 a day per user) for the fresh and local produce.TL;DR Great if you're after particular items and produce, lackluster if you shop like a stereotypical American.

It's a gem. Some of the prices are higher than other places in town, but it's a local co-op, which is nice. I love the local produce and the idea of meat and dairy from local farms. There is a great bulk foods selection and a wide variety of tea. The prepared food always smells wonderful. I'll have to try it sometime.

At this location the staff are attentive/knowledgeable and offered assistance when needed. This store is truly amazing, prices are very affordable, especially for the wide variety of products. You can get a lot of things that you cannot find elsewhere here.

The place is well kept and the staff is very helpful. The prices are on the moderate side but the vegetables and thing are mostly organic. They have lots of natural products. Bring your own bag and help local charities. The atomospher is very nice you can get lunch and dinner from here. It a great place 4 stars because of the prices but otherwise it would be 5!

I visit GTG often for their delicious and fresh grab-and-go items. They also have an excellent wine selection and have recently added local liquors as well. Excellent and fresh selections of cheese, local produce and fresh baked goods too. Convenient location and excellent staff.

Local. Local. Local. Green Top is a great store. Full disclosure: I'm an owner of the store. Along with 1,800 other people in town. You can be, too, but you don't have to be to shop here. The food made in-store is amazing. And healthy. It's a great alternative to traditional fast food. The salad bar is great, too. And they have local items in nearly every department, even ice cream and beer! (And local bacon. Need I say more?)

I love shopping here. Clean, lots of local produce and reasonable prices. The aisles are well laid out. They also support community organizations with their round-up option at checkout. Easy parking.

I love Green Top and am an owner. The food tastes better than what I buy at other stores. The grass fed beef hot-dogs are amazing, the bulk PB cups are better than Reese's, and the chicken salad is just yum. The prices are high and I am conscious of my spending, but I am so behind the mission of the store--paying employees living wage, doubling SNAP (food stamps), and buying local make it worth it for me.

This place is going to be a bit expensive. But it's worth it. You have organically grown Foods, locally grown items and fair market pricing which helps people in underdeveloped Nations.Another upside is you have WONDERFUL items that are difficult to find. Excellent tea, Salad dressing, coffee and dark CHOCOLATE to name a few.The staff is wonderfully pleasant & helpful. TAKE A BREAK. Sample the FRESH soup and the get a Bowl with a sandwich and go upstairs to eat with a view of the David Davis Manson in the distance. Pretty with a snowfall. Come HERE to get the family something unique for Christmas. Fresh dates?I dont know why, but the smell when walking in the door reminds me of Europe.ENJOY

Great place to find local grown or raised food. I only wish there was even more diversity of produce, representing more local farmers. Their hours of operation are great for us, and we live out of town. We plan to shop here often. (Caveat-Their card readers still do not have chip readers.)
