Would so NOT recommend Fairway Knolls Veterinary Hospital in Bloomington for cremating services. Jake unloaded her to their table, they wheeled her in, we followed where we were left at the checkout counter to pay our $245. But when we asked if we could just say goodbye, they advised we should have opted for an ER vet then because it’s 25 minutes after closing. Impersonal, insensitive, and compassionate for someone who works in this industry. Your extra 10 minutes would have been worth our last few minutes before letting her go. Awful experience and sharing with all pet friends who are considering taking their pet here. Will be finding a new vet for our other 3 animals now

Dr. Anderson is the kindest most sincere animal lover I’ve ever met. He’s exactly the kind of person and veterinarian you would want for your pet. He really cares and makes sure your concerns are addressed and answers all questions with patience. The techs and front desk are also super helpful, I’m so sad I’ve recently moved away from Bloomington and have had to find a new vet. No one has compared to fairway knolls and dr Anderson!

I haven't had my dog's appointment yet but from the first call I could tell this will not only be a much better fit financially but also the front desk employees are extremely friendly and actually give you the cost of what services you will be getting ahead of time. I've taken my dog to another vet in town for the past almost 9 years and was treated very poorly after 9 years so this wasn't the easiest choice but after speaking with the front desk employees and the fact they could get my dog in rather quickly instead of 2 months from now was a huge plus. From reading the reviews, I know my fur baby will be in excellent hands and I will not be treated disrespectfully. Thank you to the front desk employees that I spoke with, you made this transition so easy and I have never been treated so very kindly! Bella is looking forward to meeting everyone :) Update: Bella had her appointment today and I learned more in this one visit about my dog and important information than I did in 9 years at Town and Country!! Dr. Tatro is amazing and tells it like it is and doesn't try to do unnecessary procedures or tests. I'm very impressed and wish I had been bringing my fur baby here from the start! Thank you to everyone in the office for the kindness and taking time to explain things to me. I know Bella will be in excellent hands during her remaining years!

I used Fairway when we lived in Bloomington and since moving 10 years ago, I've never found a vet as competent and with as much straight forward advice. I literally called Tatro one day recently when I couldn't get a straight answer from anyone here in Atlanta. Working with this vet was one of the best parts about living in the middle of Illinois.

I, like many pet parents would be, hysterically called the closest emergency vet to me when my cat got badly injured this morning. I am so lucky it was Fairway Knolls! They took us in so quickly and immediately went to making him as comfortable as possible while they figured out the next steps. Throughout this whole frantic process, I never had to question whether or not he was in good hands. All of the staff genuinely care about their patients and their caregivers. My cat has a long journey of recovery ahead of him but I’m confident it will be as smooth as possible working with this team. Thank you for loving my baby (almost) as much as I do. ❤️

One star is generous. Terrible experience with our pet that resulted in weeks of unnecessary treatment/trauma. Sought advice of another vet who verified all could have been avoided with a correct (obvious) diagnosis.

Friendly staff and the vets are the best. Dr. Tatro is honest and tells it how it is. He's had years of experience and doesn't mind explaining all the vet jargon to you so you're better prepared with more information to better care for your animal. If he thinks you're wasting money with a solution, he'll tell you so. It refreshing to see a no-nonsense, truthful doctor in any capacity; he's not in it for the money, he's in it for the animals and that shows through in his work. Dr. Anderson is adorable. You can really tell he loves the animals he cares for. If he doesn't know what's going on, he's happy to research further and will actually call back with results of his research. My bf and I have taken several of our animals there with no problem. They love our animals and the best part is that they call back to ensure the animal is doing well after their visit. Can't say enough kind things about this place.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!Took my cat there one time with a bladder issue and was treated. No problem there. “Bladder issue” kept happening every 3 weeks or so. I would call to refill prescription to make “him” feel better. All they would say is “young cats can have reoccurring issues and there’s not much else we can do besides medicine.” Well “he” is actually “she” and my cat was just in heat. 1) How do you not know the gender of a cat? Would you not think to check especially with a bladder/urine issue? 2) Called them and the vet was scared to talk to me about getting a refund so he hid while the receptionist talked to me. 3) They said “well the previous owner and another vet said it was a male so we just went along with it.” I find it inexcusable to be pumping my cat full of prescriptions and shots. Not very common for a 1y indoor cat to have reoccurring issues. Also, the first time I was there, they ran tests without consulting me and just dropped a bill in front of my face. Very unprofessional and clearly the vet doesn’t have the education necessary to help your animals.

We really appreciate Fairway Knolls. Reasonable prices—the puppy package is the best deal in town if your child finally convinces you to become suddenly encumbered with a maniacal ball of fur—and great care. I really think it's the best value in town.Boarding services are for existing customers only, which is a big perk if you travel. Additional bonus: Our dog doesn't come home traumatized after a stay like she did after staying at The Barking Lot (seriously; stay away from that place unless you really hate your pet).We're really happy with Fairway Knolls and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Dr. Tatro is an absolutely wonderful vet! He has been my dog's primary vet for almost nine years and we have never had a bad experience. He goes above and beyond to provide excellent care to his patients, and always follows up to make sure any treatment was well tolerated. The office staff is wonderful as well, always friendly, and always eager to help. I would recommend Fairway Knolls to anyone!

They were really rough with my pet cat, Frosty. He’s not a fighter, he doesn’t scratch or hiss. But they grabbed him held him by his scruff and pressed him down on the table. I had to tell the guy to let me hold my cat and the vet tech refused my request. I had to be very assertive to get my cat back to me.

We had to make the difficult decision to out our 22 year old cat to sleep. They were so amazing and gave us the right information and time with her. We ended up switching vets for our other animals because they were do great. Highly recommend!

Dr. Tatro and Dr. Anderson are the best vets in town. The staff is amazing as well! We have used them for years and never been disappointed. They advocate for the best interest of you fur baby every time. We lost 2 of our babies within a year of each other and they were so caring and compassionate. I have worked for Dr. Tatro for about 13 years and can honestly say (not because I work for him) he is a wonderful vet! He has saved the lives of more than 1 of my pets and I wouldn't take them to anyone else. He gives you his honest opinion for medical treatments and gives you options to choose from to treat your pet and tries to work within your budget. He is willing to try every approach possible to diagnose and to treat your pet. I highly recommend him to everyone I know :)

Great place! They were always patient and gentle with my neurotic dog and made sure I knew all the options without trying to sell me on expensive and unnecessary tests. I brought in two abandoned cats I found who were wild and near death. Despite how feral they were Dr. Tatro and his staff treated them. Both survived and are now very happy house-cats :)
