Open fireplace! Oh man, my grandparents had a log cabin in southwest Wisconsin that had an open fireplace. Walking in the front doors to this restaurant/gift shoppe hit my olfactory nerves just right and the nostalgic feelings pulled me back to Christmas dinners and presents at Grandma and Grandpa Tanner's Cabin! The food was as good as you would imagine and the service was as genuine and welcoming. My wife and I enjoyed meandering through the gift area where they had decorations for fall, Halloween, and my wife's favorite... Christmas! We even found some really cute clothes for our kids! We can't wait to come back. We just wish we lived closer...

This cracker barrel has the occasional hit and miss service, but my service yesterday was fantastic! I came in with my friends for dinner, and had a great waiter (shout out to James!) who provided prompt, friendly service. The burger and chicken we ordered were great, and if you get the chicken tenders try the dill pickle ranch! The refills on our sodas were always quick to arrive, and the sides were hot and fresh. A great place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner when classic American cooking is your current craving.Parking: It's a cracker barrel, their parking lot is the size of a football field. You'll be fine.

I was on my way home from setting up my daughter's apartment in Des Moines, Iowa over the weekend. My husband had reserved a room for me at the Hawthorne; Cracker Barrel was just across the parking lot. After checking into the hotel, I drove over to the restaurant. It is within walking distance, but it would be dark by the time I finished the meal and I didn't know the area to determine if I'd be safe walking back alone in the dark. The staff members very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere cozy and I didn't feel awkward dining alone. The food was perfect for a "starving" woman. Not too much. Not too heavy. Perfectly prepared. I chose the catfish, and, although I couldn't eat another bite (like I said the amount was just right) I was wishing I'd ordered a second piece just to continue to enjoy the flavor. I highly recommend the catfish. (I've had cravings for it since then.)Of course, the store portion of Cracker Barrel is the other half of the pleasure of dining there, so I did a little browsing and shopping before heading back to the hotel. The cashier did enough small-talk with me during my purchase that when we said good-bye I felt like I was saying good-bye to a cousin after a family reunion.Cracker Barrel is one of my favorite travel stops, and sitting in the rocking chairs on the "porch" afterwards is a nice way to "let the food settle" before heading to your next destination.

Great place to have breakfast. They have their own syrup which is really good. There are several options in the menu and all of them come with a bunch of food for a good price.Crew is very careful and always around in case you need anything. You can pay using their own website by just scanning the QR code provided along with the check, it’s very simple, quick and practical.

Worst cracker barrel we've ever been too bar none. Asked for the manager to show them the food that was brought to our table and what was wrong with it, they never came. So asked again when they came back to see if we needed refills (glasses had been empty 15 mins already) and when the manager finally came, I showed them how 4 of my chicken tenders were all fried together as one. And she looked at me like I was crazy for complaining about that and said it happens all the time. It's Monday at 1 pm they aren't even busy at all. Our food even came out 10 mins after we ordered but they're too busy to drop the chicken tenders in individually she says. Just continued to argue back and forth with me in front of the few tables near us until she finally said she'd take it off the bill. Just very rude. Server was so slow too. I'd give the location another try had the food been good but it was worse than the service. Especially their fry portions now are just so small. The fries in the picture are two full sides they say. Waste of money and time.

With their all day breakfast specials, it would be possible to eat for $10 apiece. However, with our two meals, a couple pecan log rolls and some candy for grandkids, we were able to use our entire $59 gift certificate. My sirloin was truly medium rare and better than expected. My traveling partner's chicken and dumplings and our sides were as expected. We were seated immediately and got the very good service we have come to expect from this well-managed location.

Horrible experience. Our waitress was unorganized and slow. We waited 45 min to place our food order. Multiple tables that were there after us got their food before us. When we finally got it you could tell it had sat under the warming light for quite a while. I was missing a side my son only got fries no main course. Those took another 10 min to come out. We waited over 20 min on a drink refill all while two managers stood around within sight. The kids chicken strips were super tough. The manager even said she has trouble eating them. All in all we were there for an hour and a half, half of the food was horrible. They did refund us for the kids meals. Drinks took 20 min, waitress said someone took her drink order, food didn’t come out, the kitchen screwed it up, the food sucked the manager said they used to get pre breaded chicken strips, but now they hand batter tenderloins, and they are tough and hard to eat. Nothing but excuses. Def won’t be back. Do better Cracker Barrel. You used to be a road trip tradition.

We had a group of 7. I’m not sure if our waitress was newer or if the kitchen staff was. Our orders were all messed up. We didn’t get things we ordered. We weren’t asked if we wanted refills, and my husband pulled a label out of his green beans. Very surprised and disappointed. Usually we can count on Cracker Barrel for a great experience!

Not busy, got seated right away. 2 adults and a 3 year old. Asked for a plate to give the 3 year old salad, never received it, never received ketchup and mustard for his Cheeseburger sliders and fries, no drink refills and no check. Had to go up front and tell them what section we were in and waitress. Mashed potatoes were like clay and cold, country fried steak was mushy and bland. Salad, apples, and broccoli were the best things on the table! The new cherry lemonade was very good except we could never get a refill. Asked 3 separate waitresses for our waitress or a refill and no response at all.

The food was good. The egg seemed to have been a reheat but the pancakes were perfect. It’s sad you only get one sausage patty and one piece of bacon as a meat choice but I guess it’s best to cook at home if you want another piece of meat and not spend $5 for it. The waitress was okay. I felt like she was trying to rush us. Every five minutes coming over to see of she can take a plate. We just got the food and she was standing there with the check. Other than that, it was a good deal and experience. Went after work between 7:30 am to 8:30am on a Sunday morning.

Pre-ordered Easter feast through catering department. Pickup was easy and not having to cook was wonderful - but what really encouraged me to leave a review was how delicious everything was. My family all commented how good the food was. The turkey and ham both were the most tender and juicy I’ve ever had. All sides were delicious.Thank you and Good Job to Cracker Barrel Bloomington IL!- D Rust

It was a little slow to start as it took about 20 minutes to get our drinks this time but we all had hot chocolate and coffee. The food came out nicely. I had pancakes but they were cooked in butter and kind of crispy. Not sure if that is how they always are but it was not my favorite. The biscuits were good! We usually love Cracker Barrel but this was not our best experience.Kid-friendliness: My children love going to Cracker Barrel.

We wanted to stop for lunch while on the road. It's been a while since we last ate there. I got the Bacon Hashbrown Casserole and Jim got the Southern Fried Chicken. His meal came with the option of two sides so he tried the corn and fried apples. James was our waiter was very attentive. The food was good and good portions. The gift shop was great snd reasonably priced.Parking: Lots of parking Kid-friendliness: There is a kid's menu with a good variety of choices.

I love Cracker Barrel and was really looking forward to a take out meal from them, however, I was so disappointed. I’m assuming they leave the food that has been rewarmed all day for the take home orders because much of our food was unedible. Everything had a hard film over the top that had to be scraped off in order to eat what was below. For example, the hashbrown had a layer so hard and crunchy on top that you literally couldn’t chew it. It physically hurt your teeth to try. I spent nearly $70 and left a 20% tip and while the service itself was great, it will be a really long time before I order take out again.

Good food, and great service!I was very satisfied with my smoked chicken, and my partner loved her cheesecake pancakes. However, her scrambled eggs looked just the free scrambled you take to your room to microwave at a hotel. The biscuits were kind of dry, but as busy as they were I know some things are bound to slip though the cracks. All in all, a good experience, but not what I expected from Cracker Barrel.

It was Thanksgiving and I had hoped and thought I'd have a greater experience. I was told they could only take orders on the app. I've tried the app and it's a challenge. I was able to order breakfast which was really good! I could only place my order in the car instead of going in to or to call ahead to place the order! That didn't sit right with me. The female who took my order didn't seem to be well u know. She was just OK. I hadn't been to Cracker Barrel in so long. I know now these were the reasons. WONDER IF I SHOULD GO BACK!

Went to dinner with my mom, she chose to go here specifically to have meat loaf. There wasnt too many people there when we went so they were not busy. When the server brought us our food my mom noticed that the meatloaf didnt look all the way cooked. So as she cut into it it was more like mush, light pink and clearly uncooked. When the server came back, my mom told her this wasnt cooked and she wouldnt even serve this if it was her. The server responded with “its just the lighting”!! Didnt offer to bring another dish out, no apology and didnt take it off our bill. Very disappointing and no plans to go back

2-20-24Typical CB.Most everything was great except for the ham which was very dry and tough. The flavor was great but it was so thin it was more like jerky than a ham steak. We still love Cracker Barrel!

Decent food, great breakfast menu. I know the company has had image and discrimination issues in the past, but our local location doesn't seem to have those problems. The clientele and the staff are very diverse and everyone is extremely friendly. Whether eating in or getting take out, the service has been great - worthy of a robust tip.

This was me and my husband's first time eating breakfast there. We had to wait to be seated but once we sat down the process for ordering and receiving our food was pretty quick. The food was delicious especially the bacon and the sugar cured ham I could have had ordered just that if not more of that and I would be just fine. The pancakes were delicious as well I think the only thing I wasn't crazy about was the eggs but that's ok in my book as everything else was pretty filling. My husband also enjoyed his food as well and his biscuits were really good as I did try them lol. As for our waitress she was polite not really too social but at the same time we didn't really want that kind of interaction either being that we aren't used to yet being out this early. Overall thou I would def say we enjoyed ourselves, had a delicious meal at a reasonable price and one we wouldn't mind going back for.

We are on a long trip and just joined the rewards program the previous visit. We paid our check by scanning the receipt at the table and then we were told that this does not count for rewards. This seems to be a real head scratcher. You want this Rewards program to go forward but you don't count purchases? Not good. We have to rethink this about visiting Cracker Barrel if they don't support their own program. That's kind of misleading.Dietary restrictions: They do have a gluten-free menu. You have to ask for it.
