Please be aware if you pre-order several things like I did. I ordered a lamb rack, 3 lbs lamb shoulder (cut into cubes for kabobs), and 2lbs ground lamb. Well, they put the 7lb lamb rack on top of the shoulder cubes and ground lamb. There was lamb blood everywhere, unbeknownst to me, and it got into my car's trunk carpet. The packages of those smashed items opened too. I had a mess to clean up...not sure if my trunk is completely cleaned/sanitized.So after I spent about $142 on these items, the only thing that stayed relatively sealed was the heaviest item (the rack) that was placed on top of the small items. I'm very angry about this, and it should never have happened.Edit: I took the lamb rack back because they did it wrong. They first gave me 2 racks still connected to the backbone. How the heck can I do anything with that. So all they did to fix it was they used their rotation saw to split the backbone in half. I didn't realize that's all they did to separate the two. They gave me one, which I ordered, but again when I got home... there was half of a backbone connected to my lamb rack. How in the world was I supposed to slice it after it was cooked. I was not able to properly separate after cooking the lamb. It was more of a pain than what it was worth. I'm NEVER going there again for my meat. I will be going to College Hills Meats for now on.

This is the first time I have been inside their shop. Customer service was great, even to my three year old who wanted to try to get into everything. Loved the different options of brats that shows which one has gluten, milk, soy and eggs. Definitely helps in a gluten, milk, and soy free household like we have. Lots of options for us to try. So far we have tried three brats, and they were great. Going to try another couple different ones. Makes a good family dinner to vote on which one they like best at that moment..lol. also got some steaks, and they were absolutely great, couldn't get the season ones because of our allergens, but we used our own seasons and meat was very tender.Will definitely be going back to try different type of brats.

This place is amazing. Why does variety I have ever seen in any meat shop. They're marinated rib eyes simply cannot be beat. My other favorite is the 8 oz beef fillet for around bucks... you would spend $50 just for one that size in a restaurant. They have lots of local sourced items as well and some Seafoods. Stop by and check them out you won't be disappointed.

Very nice butcher shop. I was a little shocked at how low cost the prime rib was. But then even more shocked how great it tasted. Lots of other great items at exceptional value. Highly recommend this butcher.

I love this place a lot. It is neatly organized into frozen and fresh sections (they have homemade honey, pickles, and many other things too). The staff members are extremely hospitable, and one would never have to wait to be checked out. Every time I come here, I also feel very happy seeing customers coming in and out, and it is refreshing to see that the place is a locals’ favorite.

Employees were very helpful. Bacon and ground beef were both delicious. I’m disappointed that they don’t have grass fed or organic options for their meat. If this changes, if they start selling grass fed beef, I will definitely be back!

Great butcher shop with tons of selection. Staff is knowledgable and well trained. IF YOU ASK FOR HELP IT WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU!!!I realize that some people feel that being acknowledged by staff is them screaming “HELLO” at you when you walk in the door. I personally find that to be irritating beyond measure.I like my shopping experience to be such that when you ask for help it is given quickly, and professionally. other than that the price needs to be competitive, and selection should be competitive with other local vendors. I found that Bloomington Meats runs it’s store exactly like I like it.I am here to buy meat, not socialize. It is not a barbershop, and I don’t need to have the employees attempt to have a heart to heart with me every time I come through the door.

One of the best places in town to get fresh cuts of meat. Among other things, they also sell a variety of freshly made summer sausages and snack sticks that are out of this world and the perfect bite for a midnight snack or to take on a trip. They also sell different kinds of freshly made pastas and potato salads, etc. that are tasty as well. Not outrageously expensive, but if it was it would be worth every penny! Highly recommend.

They have fantastic monthly meat bundles and the best brats of anyplace I've ever been to. Almost a countless number of brat flavors, even different choices of meat: pork, chicken and even lamb! Check out their website for all the different flavors.

The quality is great and I love the selection. I've always had a pleasant experience with the staff and food I've gotten. The bulk brat meat is probably my favorite thing. The seasoned Ribeyes are pretty great too.

Love the brats. Tried bacon wrapped filets 3 different times. Not a fan. The first time a few years ago I honestly can't remember the issue, but didn't enjoy the filet( not that tender) and a couple years later tried 2 more.....one was not center cut but couldn't tell because all wrapped up in cling wrap. But again, neither were tender. About 3 years gone by....I wanted to try one more time, so got 2 more a few days ago. Looked fine but neither was tender at all! Kind of like an eye of round. No more filets from here for me.

So I usually like this place but apparently if you tell them they forgot an item while frantically getting their bundles together the day it's supposed to be ready, isn't ok What's the point of calling ahead if you are just going to forget. But apparently the owner yells at people and says I'm a certain type of person just because I want what I paid for. I paid over 300 dollars in one order and yet I just get talked over and not listened to.

I went here for the first time last week a few days ago, after hearing about their $30 monthly bundle--this month it was two pounds of brats, a pound of sandwich steaks, a pound of sandwich pork chops, a pound of hot dogs, and a pound of hamburger patties, which was a really good deal. What I've eaten of it has been great. Service was fast and there was no wait before lunchtime on a weekday.

We had two pigs butchered at Bloomington Meats and they followed our processing directions exactly. So far, we have eaten brats, pork burgers, ground pork, Italian sausage, and breakfast sausage. It has all been delicious!We also highly appreciate the packaging they use for the ground meat - the design allows all the meat to come out of the wrapper without leaving any behind. Processing fees were reasonable.

The staff is very helpful. I go mainly for the brats but I have tried other selections as well and never been disappointed. The prices are very reasonable and with their monthly value boxes even better. I'd like to plug the pumpkin pie brats and pineapple terryaki. Oh my! They sound weird but have become my favorite. I live in Decatur about 45 miles away, I drive up atleast once a month. Note: when I do, they'll be out of pumpkin brats just FYI.

I absolutely love this place have bought half a cow from them before for a great price and the Brats are so ANAZING!! The absolute best I’ve ever eaten, sad thing is I made the trip their back in the first of March and they didn’t have many and now this Virus mess has the food supply chain messed up and they can’t make any “Not their fault”,my family is really bummed about this cuz we buy a couple dozen packs at a time for the summer! Hoping things get back to normal soon

I'm giving Bloomington meats five stars. Took a deer in and when I went to pick it up the order of cuts was wrong. Still they made it right which I was so thankful for. The young girls working there are helpful and nice. I really appreciated their help. Great staff.

Definitely the best place to buy any meat you need. The staff is great and the meat is amazing. When we moved here I was looking for a good place to buy from. We have only been a handful of times but it's the only place I'll buy meat from now. If you buy from anywhere else you're wrong.

Best butcher shop in town! Excellent ribeyes and pork chops. Our favorite are the bacon-wrapped pork filets. Good price and big enough that my wife and I split one. Their brats are good but I recommend the loose brat meat (we make brat burgers out of them and we love them). This is also the only place in town we buy ground beef. Highly recommended!

Been a customer for years. I can say I've never had a bad cut of meat from this place. They have everything from brats and steaks to chops burger and even Dixon's seafood now.

I put in an order for 12 pounds of organ meat for my dogs ( English Mastiff and a mud) every 4 days. I spoke to the owner and he said he would take care of it. On my first order, Bloomington meats gave me only 9 pounds so my dog enough for 3 days of food. Today I call to see if the next order is ready to be picked up, and then they said that they do not have it available ➡️ anymore ⬅️ and I can go somewhere else if I like to. He also babbled something about that he has to pay more than he sells it for.I am very unhappy with the lack of care I received and with the change of mind. He sent a paying customer away and I did not ask to get a special price I just wanted to be able to feed my dogs every day.I am still a little in disbelieve. Terrible customer service.

Went there for the 1st time. The counter person was not friendly and almost rude. When asked about ground beef I was shown plastic bundles, I can not see the meat and no marking about fat content. I asked about whole chicken was shown chicken breast. I presume she meant that they had no whole chickens. Although this butcher is much closer, I will continue to drive to the one in Normal. VERY disappointed.
