This is a must if you’re visiting Bishop Hill, or just passing through. They have such a wide selection of snacks, decor, and more! I found myself the sweetest little Tomte to guard over my home and my family ❤️

Great small town shop. This whole town is something I think any traveler should visit. A lot of history and friendly little local shops. IF you're in the area check this place out.

The Colony store is a must visit on every visit to Bishop Hill. From old fashioned candy sticks to the most unique teas and gifts, I always find something unique to bring home. Weird I have discovered the most wonderful teas from this store over the years. The old fashioned gifts such as the sheepish horse or wooden ornaments are a good reason to stop here. Then the bonus of the old fashioned candy. Do yourself a favor and stop and shop.

Best coffee ever. I smell of the coffee beans is intoxicating! Wish you could get a cup to sip while shopping. Lots of many nice items from candy to coffee to silk flowers and books. Staff is super friendly!

Anywhere you shop or visit in Bishop Hill is a treat. My favorite day trip. Have been here at least once a year for several years. I love the history of this village. The Colony Store offers a variety of interesting items and an old style candy counter. The ladies who run the store are so sweet. Always a pleasant experience!

This is just the best place. It has all kinds of great things from Sweden, being that Bishop Hill is a Swedish settlement. It smells wonderful, they sell coffee beans. They will grind the beans for you or you can the beans home and grind yourself. They also have jars of candy to buy by the pound. If you are looking for a unique shop for a gift or just for yourself make the trip Bishop Hill and the Colony Store.

Shop bishop hill! Older colony communal area from years past. Take some time to get to know the states history and its relationship with early settlers. The colony store is a quaint little place with Swedish items and food.

Bishop Hill is a great little village on the prairie. ( amid corn fields ). 6 pre civil war buildings. Began in 1946 as a Swedish commune. Descendants still abound. A wonderful museum filled with Olaf Krans paintings too. The 1854 Steeple Bldg is also a museum of the immigration. Colony church is a must see. Take note, the state owned sights and some shops are closed Monday and Tuesday.
