Would have been nice to get the potato salad I ordered with my meal and paid for. The food was great though. I guess I'm just out unless I want to make another trip to town again. I had to edit my review after I found chicken in my pulled pork. These guys are usually fantastic. What happened? This is all the nachos that were barely edible. Pulled pork/chicken and fat were interesting. Chips were too hard to bite except the soggy ones withe the cheese that I found under a huge heap of lettuce? I think that's what it was. Horrible! Step your game up Geno or stop charging such high prices. I'm not even hungry anymore.

First time customer to Geno’s today. Absolutely horrible experience. Called in a takeout order and requested the Mahi-Mahi tacos listed on their Facebook page. I was told that was for lunch. I said the Facebook page documented, “Craving something different?? Mahi-mahi tacos today!!! $9.95” Did not say lunch special only. Went ahead and ordered something else. They told me thirty minutes. I arrived at thirty-five minutes and had to wait another twenty-five minutes before I received my food. It was total chaos in that place and you couldn’t tell who was in charge, because no one seemed to care and no one was at the register. No apology given. Unpacked the food and it was awful. Completely tasteless don’t think they added any salt to anything. The fish was dry and cold. The tartar sauce was open and dump over in the container. The salad dressing tasted like something cheap out of a jar and not made fresh. One of the baked potatoes had a huge rotten spot in it. The $11 quarter pound hamburger was black and weighed only .15 pounds. I had to quickly cook a new hamburger at home because it wasn’t even edible, but I guess the dog scored the burnt patty. Just an overall horrible experience. This was my first and last trip to this place. If they want to charge quality restaurant prices they better step up their game because this was some of the worst food I’ve had in a while. They are very expensive for such poor-quality food. McDonalds is better. Get some quality management.

First time. Saturday evening.I rarely review restaurants. Have to be Horrible or Awesome. After reading other reviews, my expectations were mediocre.Drinks were good. Service fast.Wings, naked and breaded were the best I’ve had in 15 years. Big & juicy. Very fresh.Salads good. Caesar has a nice anchovy flavor.The Special 16 oz. smoked pork to die for!! Exploring the Midwest I pulled through the small town of Bethalto Illinois and a place with great curb appeal caught my eye called Geno’a 140 that had been established in 1942 and I was greeted with kind folks and a delightful staff including son of the original founder. Very warm inviting environment with food of plenty to appeal the country heart. Then they introduced me to a local drink exclusively created in Illinois that was one of the most delightful temptations I have had in ages called the unbroken only found currently at Genos 140. I order fried chicken which could feed an army but seriously if your on the road traveling stop in and see these kind people you will enjoy the country kindness and great country food. I really enjoyed the experience. 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pretty good food we won’t go back just because we are older and we like to share a Meal and then each order a cup of soup or a salad and they charge extra two or three dollars for this! Just don’t think that’s necessary when all they did was bring us an extra plate! We had others with us who ordered meals. We asked the bartender about it, and she was rather rude about it and said too bad the owner would be mad at me if I didn’t charge you. No biggie but we will go elsewhere.

I frequent this establishment on most Sundays with my mother and a sister of mine. Never Amy complaints about the quality of the chow (military terminology) and the service. Highly recommend this establishment for a great meal anytime!Parking: Front, Side, and back of building.

Large menu offers something for everyone. They quickly accommodated a large group. The waitress had a helper that made sure everyone was accommodated during the entire meal.Comfort food in a familiar local barRecommend the fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Hamburgers looked yummy

Paid 50$ for boiled chicken and bland Alfredo sauce. I don’t know how this place has a 4.3 rating because I don’t even think they know what salt and pepper is. It is a big portion but that’s about all they’ve got goin for themselves. I tried to eat it and couldn’t get past the third bite. The most bland food from any restaurant I have ever ate at. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Friends took me here, and it was a pleasant place to hang out with friends. I enjoy a good pizza burger, but some places skimp on the cheese and sauce. Not here! My sandwich was brimming with gooey mozzarella and plenty of pizza sauce. The server was friendly and made sure we had plenty of drinks.This place has that part diner, bar, and restaurant feel—an excellent choice for groups with varying tastes. There is something here for everyone.

Had the chicken strip dinner, with salad, mashed potatoes/gravy and bread. Of course, it didn't disappoint. Yea, they're chicken strips, but I have had some nasty strips. These are homemade, not processed. And it's breast meat, not some mystery part of the chicken (see my review on KFC from about 2-3 months ago). We've been going here for over 20 years, and will continue to go for the next 20. There's a reason 140 Club has been in business for as long as they have-excellent food at a fair price.

The food was delicious and the service was awesome!! The fried chicken strip meal is great and I always have leftovers!! Also, if you can catch the happy hour drink & appetizer specials, it's a great deal!! They have daily lunch and dinner specials too!!Parking: Usually, it's easy to find a parking spot. Sometimes & some evenings it's more crowded. It depends what time you go & what the daily dinner specials are.

Went there yesterday - the food was flavorless and greasy. The servers did the best they could, but they seemed short staffed. The owner didn’t seem appreciative of the group of 50 we had use his facility and they were under prepared.

This was my 2nd visit 2 Geno's 140..... I ordered a burger 🍔 and baked potato 🥔 both were good. My guest ordered a breaded pork tenderloin sandwich 🥪 and fries 🍟, the pork tenderloin was huge plus they were VERY generous with the fries 🍟. My guest had enough 4 another meal in their take home box..... the service was SUPER FAST..... we dined on a Thursday night at 7:45pm, the dining rooms were 3 quarters full when we arrived..... definitely will dine here again..... FYI you can enter through any door & seat yourself ie very informal...... cheers 🌈🦋🐬🙃😉🙂😊🤟🤘👊✌️👍

A treasure in Bethalto! We visited this restaurant for lunch on Sunday 19 March 2023 and through a local resident suggestion.Service, portion size, great location and excellent staffing made our visit unforgettable.Everything was spot on and even a good size TV to watch the NCAA Tournament too.Management should be applauded for keeping a good business like this something that you are excited to revisit frequently.Thanks for serving us, we will definitely recommend this place to others in the St Louis metro area.Parking: Spacious easy to get around

My food was cold, as in refrigeratored cold. I had bbq chicken Nachos and the chicken was cold and had that left over taste. The service was just okay. The poor guy was slammed. We waited about 45 minutes or so for our food to be served. We sat in the upper dining room. It had no air flow, and it was hot and extremely loud. I couldn't hear conversations from the people at our table. Genos is not what it used to be ... Mr. Cooper (senior) would not be pleased.

It’s ok. Nothing amazing about the place, food or service.We came in for Friday fish and it was good. My daughter had the steak sandwich and it was ok. Fries were good and so was the fact they carry diet Dr Pepper.Service was ok as well but nothing to write home about. They were busy but so is every place that serves fish during this time of year.Side Note:Last time I was here was 16 years ago when they tried to serve my daughter rotten shrimp. Me and the manager got in a huge argument and I swore off the place. So at least they aren’t serving bad shrimp……I hope.

This became one of my favorite places to eat. Prices are reasonable, the food is great and plentiful, The faculty is very friendly. Has handicap accessibility. Beautiful setting. Free parking with easy access. Great for the whole family. They also have for adults over 22 years of age, Slots and a full bar.
