She was able to help me pick plants for my modest freshwater aquarium to really elevate it!We spent almost a half hour just chatting about the hobby and our experiences as women in a mainly male-dominated hobby. Eugene was great to work with. I was getting my nephew a pair of hermit crabs for Christmas and he helped decorate the tank with everything I needed. He even went ahead and made a beautiful custom certificate that I could give my nephew which he would be able to bring in to Fish Island and pick out his own crabs instead of me doing it for him. It was a wonderful touch and looked much nicer than a gift card which is what some other pet/fish stores in the area said I would need to do.

Impatient and dishonest. Unhealthy fish. Just bought these 3 shrimps 20 mins ago, and one has already died in the bag. When I was purchasing them, there are many dead ones in the container, but the owner claimed that they “just dosed medicine, which is why they are “asleep””. They definitely are dead. Owner was not happy that I wanted to pick out the “healthier” looking shrimps. I wanted to slowly pick some because half of the shrimps are dead. But owner was going to net me the dead shrimps because they’re “asleep”. The dead shrimp when she was netting, was already acting up weird, but she was rushing me to finish picking. I couldn’t tell her to change that one out. If you’re going to lie to your customers about the health, or even dead or alive of your fish, you shouldn’t be owning a business.Overall, pretty bad experience. And I hope someone contacts me to refund me at least the dead shrimp.Update, day two, one more died.Day three all of them died. I’ll be disputing my money back. It is a waste of time and money to buy anything from here.

A fantastic local fish store! I came for the first time panicking over my betta fish who was sick with a fungal infection. Alina helped me understand what was happening and thoroughly explained how to give proper treatment. All the fish in the store were lively with clean tanks and good lighting. 100% will be returning here!

From the 3 fish stores I usually go to fish island has become my favorite and my go to place . The fish I have gotten are healthy. The store is clean and the owner is amazing. She is very helpful. She saved our arowana community aquarium. You can tell she loves what she does.

The absolute best customer service I have experienced. The owners were both so knowledgeable and helpful. They had a big variety of both freshwater and saltwater fish and corals. My boyfriend and I went in and ended up purchasing over a dozen fish. Many of the fish we got, we have never seen before. The prices were very fair. All of the tanks were very clean and you could tell all the fish were very healthy. The lady that helped us said that they do their best to isolate all fish to ensure that they are all healthy before they go to their new homes. They bagged our fish up, sent them home in a huge insulated box, and helped us carry it to our car. When we got the fish home, they settled in very quickly and ate. Usually when we get new fish, they take a day or so to adapt. Thank you for a lovely experience. I am very pleased with our purchases and will be returning very soon! I would recommend Fish Island to anyone who is looking to start or add to their aquatic collection.

What an amazing visit I had today! I am so psyched that there is a small independently owned fish store so close. The owner is so friendly, warm and knowledgeable. The first impression I had is that she cares deeply about her fish and takes pride in her trade. I’m also beyond grateful that she took in my baby Dalmatian Mollies! I couldn’t have found a better place to bring them. Thank you for a wonderful time today and I look forward to so many more visits!

We recently discovered Fish Island. We found the owners friendly and very helpful. There is a good selection of freshwater and saltwater fish. We found some great additions to our current aquariums. We are setting up two new tanks at our home, which is 45 minutes away from the store. Worth the trip. We will be back.

Shop was beautiful, well organized and clean. The owner is a warm and knowledgeable person who deeply cares for her fish. She works with good breeders and had some of the most stunning betas I've ever seen, not to mention the beautiful angel fish and variety of salt water fish. There is also parking right in front, which is very convenient. Will definitely be going back!

Got home with a new fish to find it had a bacterial infection on its belly. Which I should have seen coming from the condition of the tanks. So I contacted the store and they offered to send me a refund.. Refund never came.

Very good lfs, got a flagfin angelfish on Labor Day sale. The owner said they had it for two months, so the fish is very well trained: out going, eating well ( frozen and flakes). It took no time to get use to my tank. Taking it as one of the difficult fish to keep, I am very happy for it. The prices for marine fish are little on the high end range comparing to some other stores. But if every fish in the store has to stay under observation and qt, gets food training for over a month, these are actually very good prices for qted fish.
