Well, either your navigator knows this place or your Navigation System is taking you here - regardless, it's worth the country road drive! The lake house, party environment is evident from the approaching signage, the marquis, and their exterior pit stop location indicators. Their interior theme flows, with your first stop at the ordering window, then to the cashier/drink station where the choices range from canned drinks (solo cup and ice available for refined needs) to the local Muddy Root Beer or the fully stocked selection. Our group shared their Alaskan and Catfish baskets with me (trading offered but not accepted, thankfully). I found my taste buds favored the alphabet, Alaskan, Blue Gill, the Catfish selections. Definitely, do NOT overlook the smaller slaw dish - hand made indication from my oil & vinegar combination/mixture. I opted to skip the frog leg options as well as their token souvenir selections also. I truly enjoyed my blue gill basket and crinkle fries.As for my four, I tried the Joe Chips (see other descriptions, not just mine) but found these not as appealing as their crinkle fries; consistency rang in both crinkle baskets as my Joe Chips varied greatly where pockets of perfection drenched with inferior stacks abound. What made the difference for me - their sauces Joe's Sauce and their ranch blend. The Portobello Mushroom Appetizer paired with their ranch was awesome - served piping HOT (temp-wise). The Joe Sauce contains a bit of a hidden/after kick but not over powering for my taste buds.I'm told the summer months here get swamped with lake attire and four-wheeler groups. When I visited, a small retirement celebration initiated their orders. The Crazy Joe's Crew handled their normal crowd and the celebration group with ease. You should really listen as the wait staff delivery team isn't always heard above the crowd volume. DEFINITELY SPEAK UP or yell BINGO, maybe raise hands & waive. Luckily, honestly prevails and our appetizer made it intact to our table. Helping the crew bus your table keeps things moving along but there are PLENTY of paper towels available if your predecessors missed a few spots.Double check the hours and bring cash. My only question: why not incorporate the (red/color) solo cups for pins colada drinks instead of the (seemingly breakable) glassware? Thanks for taking care of our planet & my appetite, Crazy Joe's!!Wheelchair accessibility: Can be challenging but most do drop off regardless, as parking is country style.

I'd give it 6 stars if I could. It's about an hours drive from me, but I'd pass every franchise restaurant up on the way to go again. Great food and excellent atmosphere. They also have cabins and air b and b if one wanted to make an entire weekend out of it. My pic is only a portion of it

Fun Place to hang out get a drink and eat. Way better than previous versions of this restaurant if you have not been here in a while good menu, food and service there were a number of things they were out of but worth the nice drive

Good eats, down to earth atmosphere, and good service. But unless you're brave enough to keep walking after being greeted with signs posted to leave your fire arms in the car, because those had me questioning what kind of bar I might be headed towards but the food ended up being worth the risk.Parking: We parked in a grassy area that appeared to serve as part of their parking lot.

Good food and a fun atmosphere. Family friendly but you can also have a few beers with your dinner. Plenty of outside picnic tables out on the patio. Service is always good too.

Very interesting place, in an awkward place, the roads that lead there may be in bad condition during extreme weather conditions such as heavy rain due to flash flooding. Good food, seafood is the main focus for the restaurant, so no other meats like burger or pork. Would recommend if you live near or are wanting an interesting experience during your travels. Staff seemed disorganized, however, my order was spot on and well prepared, came out faster than anticipated and tasted good. Overall, 7/10.

This place is off the beaten path and apparently is a favorite place to go on a Saturday night for the locals.The good: pleasant atmosphere and people were nice.The bad: everything there is deep fried and salty as hell. I'm a huge fan of catfish in every form but this place had the worst I've ever had. It was hard to chew, not a great flavor, and the breading to fish ratio was wayyyy off. It was more breading than fish.We had breaded corn, breaded mushrooms, breaded shrimp. If it weren't for the dipping sauce to give flavor the fried food would be too dry to swallow.Definitely one and done here.

This place was one of a kind. We went on a Friday night and it was packed. Probably not the best place to take our hungry 1 year old. But the food was some of the best seafood we have had in the southern Illinois/Southeast Missouri area. The service was wonderful and it was just a great atmosphere! We will definitely be going back in the summer!

The best fish southern Illinois had to offer in my opinion!!! Alaskan white, or catfish with the Joe's sauce is absolutely perfect combination!!! I always have to get the deep fried pickles aswell!!! Bring cash don't have an atm...

We love this place-- great Blue Gill!! Comfortable atmosphere-- great people working there!! We have to like it-- We drive about 45 minutes plus to eat here at Crazy Joe's!!

Well worth the drive!! Excellent food, great atmosphere, and incredible service. I completely enjoyed my meal and the overall experience. Plenty of food too. You won't leave hungry!!!
