I give this place 2 stars because they have what I need usually when I don't have time to order from Chewy. I will not be bringing my dog here for grooming anymore. It was great a couple years ago but the last few times have gone down hill and the customer service is very poor. I watched a groomer be extremely rude to a customer in front of me. That should have been my queue to leave. After our last visit, my dog came home acting strange and a few days later very sick. My dog has NEVER been sick. I won't be using this groomer anymore and seldom will shop here too.

Visited this location for the first time last night and was disgusted by the restroom cleanliness. More so, that there was no working sink to wash hands!!! The toilet bowl interior hasn’t been cleaned in months, if not longer.On the flip side, there was a groomer onsite (PM) with brown hair - she was so sweet and watching her groom another pup made our night! She got attacked by poodle kisses and was having as much fun as the pup.

I brought my senior dog in for a bath this week and was called 10 minutes after leaving to be told his small feet got stuck in the grate they stand on for the bath, his feet were hurt in the process, and while trying to get him out they say he “bit his own ear” and his ear was bleeding profusely. HIS EAR IS NOT EVEN LONG ENOUGH TO REACH HIS MOUTH. The female manager rolled her eyes and tried to shrug it off as an accident. When I returned to get my other dog, the other associate was much more friendly and offered to pay for the vet bills. Not sure why an associate had the guts to say that but the manager was too proud to admit fault. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR PETS. I will never let them hurt another one of my animals.

BRITTANY IS HORRIBLE. She cut no 1 but 2 legs, my puppy was bleeding and with no hair, I have a standard doodle and I ALWAYS brush and comb her and this lady said she was matted it’s no way. this is the 2nd time Brittany ruined her hair. The first time she shaved her ears I gave her the benefit of the doubt but again? It’s no way. This lady has no patience with big dogs, my puppy is really sweet and has a good behavior. I should have known since my baby got so nervous when she saw this lady for the 2nd time, she felt her bad intentions and didn’t want to go with herAnd she waited until 15 min before the store closed to call me and asked me to hurry up because they were about to close when I dropped her off at 2pm… she had my baby for about 5 hrsAnd plus she is a liar🤥 she told us her manager told her to shave my puppy and when we asked the manager she said that wasn’t true!!! 🤥I’m so upset because we didn’t have any issues before with Candy, she’s the best we have been taking my baby with her for a year and we have no issues, Hazel loves Candy, she has done a great job every time we bring Hazel in

Happen to see this Petco on our way home and stopped in to see what it was all about. Loved all the aquatics to look at. Plus I felt like staff was friendly and eager to help us out. Overall we were happy with what we seen and the stock yall had. Thank you!

This is the second time I had to reschedule my dogs grooming because it’s booked at a late time that they had available! At this point I feel like it’s because the groomers want to keep leaving early. They called TWICE two different appointments and said “ someone canceled is there anyway you could come in earlier ? “ I tell them no because I don’t have transportation until 6 and then they tell me I have to reschedule! So inconsiderate!!!

Love the different selections of food, there's something for every pet. They do have reasonably priced sections for those of us that have real babies and fur babies 👍

Made an appt to groom my 2 westies. They would not groom my younger puppy because she takes anxiety meds for grooming. Had to cancel both appointments. Do not schedule with them!

The cashier was super rude to me he didn’t let me know the bags cost money then when he rang me up for my bulky items he didn’t offer a bag and when I asked for one he said you know they’re usually 10 cents didn’t think you’d wanna pay for that. If he is so unhappy with his job or not a people person maybe he shouldn’t be working with customers directly

We like the variety of higher quality cat foods offered at the North Aurora IL store. Lots to choose from and/or try, for picky eaters. Competitively priced (Hills brand), too. Setup a customer account simply with your phone number at checkout, for even more discounts!

Extremely awesome. Young lady who helped me get feeder fish was so pleasant. Upon check out getting crickets. The gentleman was also very pleasant. Found things that were not at other stores.

I was shopping for my aquariums...I have 4. I also have 2 dogs that get their vacs from Vetco. I spend a LOT of money with Petco, and felt insulted that I had to pay $0.10 for a bag. Come on, Petco... you can do better. Your'e the ONLY store in Illinois that I go to that charges for a bag. It's part of doing business, not a pass along to the customer. Like all companies, you build packaging into your sales margin. I can easily shop at Pet Supplies Plus, which is right across the street from me. The next time I'm there and get charged for a bag, it will be my last time there. Other than that, everything was great!UPDATE!!! Per Petco's response below, perhaps they can offer paper bags or another type of eco-friendly bag? Plastic is Petco's choice.

The Groomers were very knowledgeable, friendly and patient when I brought in my new dogs. I was unaware on how they would do for their 1st groom and their experience with your Groomers was stress fee!

This North Aurora location is so nice!! It is very big and has a huge variety of brands. I have my go to location but it’s smaller than this one. Store is very well organized and clean. Staff member was very helpful and kind at the register. Highly recommend this location.

Awesome place to go for your fur babies. Also, they can be with you at Petco as long as they're leashed, of course 😉. But it is quite pricey.

Cat Grooming- I had a groomer for a few years for my long haired cats but I can no longer go to her so I have been looking for a new groomer. PETCO is not a place I thought about but I needed someone fast because cats nails were growing out and cats were getting stuck on things. Candy groomed my cats and trimmed their nails. She was great and really was gentle and kind with them. They are normally skittish and can be difficult but they were calm with her and everything went smoothly. The experience exceeded my expectations and she really made it a great experience.

Dog grooming is a challenging thing to do well, because half the time it is a question of whether the dog will sit still or fight it. I try my best to not judge a dog groomer for this reason, unless they clearly did not try. I have been to Petco in different cities and states and was not always satisfied.My experience at this location, however, was great. Kaitlyn was our groomer, and when finished our little buddy was super happy and incredibly clean. She even got out some mats and tangles in his hair.

Haven't been to Petco since 2017 laid my dog to rest in 2018 Today's visit 2023 was with my daughter and her new puppy! The store was clean well stocked and maintained like it was in 2017 but with up to date merchandise!

They have a fish with ick in a tank with a lot of other fish and those fish also have ick spreading on their bodies. These fish are still for sale- I don't know how you can peacefully sell these fish and then add more to this tank following the death or purchase of the current fish. I would not be shocked if they don't even clean the tank before adding the next batch. I won't be buying fish from this place anytime soon.

Always greeted, and always helpful! Thank you so much to the associate who helped me find a good brand for my cat's needs. I come in once a month for food and every other week for cat treats. Love how the staff keeps the store clean, stocked, and are knowledgable about products.
