Very neat stop for sure!Paul Bunyan is pretty cool to see! He's holding a HotDog! Haha! It was used to promote a local business.This Town of Atlanta has a ton of Route 66 history! We spent over an hour checkin out all the neat stuff here.Definitely recommend stopping if near the area.

Not what you'd expect. This is one of a line of manufactured statues. Sam made as the muffler guy. Wild story though, they took off the axe and replaced it with a hot dog when the local hot dog shop restored the statue. This should really be renamed the Big Weiner Guy......

Cute town, enormous statue. Great kitsch factor. Stop into store across the street for Route 66 gifts, local goods and a fun museum (not the Atlanta museum). Didn't go to Atlanta museum.

Great to see this one! They replaced the axe with a hotdog and we all lol'd and had our picture made. Great town to stop in. Don't miss the grain elevator around the corner.

Atlanta, Illinois is a nice stop along Route 66, this 'Muffler Man' used to hold an axe but it's been replaced by a hot dog. Other Route 66 memorabilia in town too.
