Grain Bins in Arcola IL fell so the mayor paid for 3 rooms for us. I loved that we could bring our dog for a small fee!Noteworthy details: We were served an awesome breakfast. Plus this Quality Inn is within walking distance from 5 restaurants, 2 gas stations and one of the newer Dollar General.

The guy at the front desk was very disrespectful when asking for a refund for the 2nd night. I explained that due to work our crew needed to move from this town to another town due to weather and his answer was " That's not my problem, you have to be decided"He was very rude and said his boss was a very busy man and I could not talk to him. After explaining and trying to ask him to charge a late check out fee he still said No and hung up on me.I have never dealt with a Quality Inn hotel that has employees this disrespectful.Worst experience ever!

During 30 years of travelling, i never went in a bad hotel as that.Moisture, noise during the night...We can ear mouses in the walls.Zero positive aspect during my visit at this Quality inn, Arcola, Il.

This hotel was very dirty and had a terrible smell. I did not feel very safe there. The door had apparently been kicked in at some point. The security lock had been screwed back onto the door. The frame of the door had been broken and was just screwed back together instead of being properly repaired. I had to push the door open with my shoulder to get in the room because it obviously had been ripped off of its hinges when the door was forced open. Upgrades had been ATTEMPTED. The flooring had been replaced but there were huge gaps around the perimeter of the room. Poor installation quality. Room was very dusty. Exhaust fan in the bathroom was pulling away from the wall and there was a gaping hole. I am not a picky person and do not expect perfection, but this place was disgusting. Thank goodness it was only a 1 night stay.

I don’t recommend this Hotel, not The QUALITY I expected. The door to our room didn’t latch tight and could easily be opened without the room key. The bathroom door didn’t latch either and easily opened. The one bed had stains on the sheet. The heater didn’t work, fortunately they had another small plug in heater that kept our room pretty warm. The kitchen was always dark in the morning with part of it having caution tape around it, which most hotels don’t have much anything for breakfast right now. The staff wasn’t any help, when you asked questions they would pretend not to hear or then just go on a baseless rant that made no sense. If you want a cheaper hotel then go here.

Have stayed here before and while not a 5 star it was clean and comfortable. This time the bolt lock on door didn't work. It looked lime someone had pushed on door to pull the plate off the door jamb. There were stains on the bed skirt...not nice. Breakfast was basically ziplocs filled with cereals and stuff. I did bring the issues to front desk attention but no reply. Will think twice about staying here again..

Clean lobby, bathroom, and surfaces in the room. Beds very comfortable and clean, fresh feeling. Old hotel but kept up well enough, no bad smells, the floors were a little icky but beds are what we care about. Paint peeling in the bathroom but not too bad. Beds are double and not queen size. Perfectly acceptable for our one night stay with two small children and for the price, we slept well, had a hot shower with plenty of clean towels. Decent breakfast with enough options and clean dining area.

Nice bright room. Husband and son love making waffles but could've used a non stick spray. Disliked not having an elevator and not being able to have the a/c fan run all of the time. Mirror in our room needs to be replaced. Over all it's a decent place to stay.

Overall decent for my overnight stay. The room was getting old and worn in places, but the sheets were clean and overall the room was clean. The two beds were only full sizes which can make sleeping tight if you're sharing.

Room was clean. No elevator. Good location, close to restaurants and the interstate and fairly inexpensive. They had a candy dish with airheads and mini butterfingers at the front desk👍🏼and beverages and snacks for purchase. Of course the pool is closed because of Covid.

If I could give this 0 stars then I would. We were staying at a Comfort Inn in Arcola, IL. When we first got into the hotel room, they were in the middle of renovating our room. We couldn't use the shelf because they just got done putting it on. I had to ask for our room to b vacuumed. The bathroom mirror had something on it. Then right as I was going to put my baby on the floor, I noticed a staple on the floor. Also I requested a crib. When I received the crib, it had a QUEEN size FLAT sheet. I asked the front desk if I could have a fitted crib sheet and she said they don't have any crib sheets. They always use a flat sheet. Well I didn't want my baby to pull the blanket up and suffocate in his sleep so he had to sleep in a crib with no sheet on the plastic crib mattress just so my baby can be safe. This is absolutely ridiculous and I will not be returning.

We thought this was right on the water, which it is not...it's across a busy highway from the sound. But, it's also much cheaper than beachfront hotels and not too far of a drive. My daughter has anxiety on bridges, so that was a little stressful. The beds were very lumpy, a pretty basic little breakfast included not-so-good boiled eggs, but my daughter liked the big pot of oatmeal they privided. Pool is smallish, but everything else was fine...microwave and minifridge are in the room.

Quick Digest- ok for older families (without young kids), over the roaders, truck drivers happy to see a bed, and ppl not needing an elevator, low maintenance travelers. If this isn't you, then this hotel is not for you. True story- my 6 yr old told me that "this was not a hotel and that if it was, it was the worst" -no working pool, dysfunctional bath tub and dysfunctional wifi 🤣🤷🏽‍♀️I was at this hotel 3d,2n. It is the following Tuesday and I think I am now ready for this review. Deep breaths. There will be tips, pros, cons, and pictures. All of it will be 💯 true- I take reviews very seriously. I use/refer to them when I do anything and go anywhere. And being that I enjoy to travel with my family and, on occasion, with just me and my husband- I think about what others may want to know before they go, so, here we go.*Tips*-Research the area!👨‍🌾👩‍🌾 👀 Arcola, IL. Key words: amish, rural, farms, country, the opposite of diverse🚶🏼‍♀️🚶🏼‍♀️🚶🏼‍♀️🚶🏾‍♀️🚶🏼‍♀️🚶🏼‍♀️. We were in the area for an EIU Graduation but being raised in Chicagoland, Arcola was uncomfortable at times. Not unsafe but- yeah.-Think twice before scheduling with a 3rd party. We used travelocity and there was miscommunication between me, the hotel and travelocity. 🤔*Pros*-Heather was amazing! We only got to interact with her on Sunday but she was over-accommodating, a hospitality genius. I wish she had been there all weekend. Might have impacted this review. Promote Heather to managment!-within walking minutes of 24/7 gas station, Dairy Queen, McDonald's, Mexican restaurant, diner, pizza place. This was convenient. 💆🏽‍♀️-hotel was very clean & smelled nice.-fridge in room was spacious.-only 2 floors/levels- walls are pretty thick- we had a newborn baby next door who was a crier 👶🏻but we could barely hear him/her-on both floors, at the end of the hall, there was an outdoor staircase balcony thing with a smoker's ash tray thing, which was convenient as hell, being a smoker. They should add a bench on the 2nd like they have on the 1st. Still a +-The beds and pillows were so amazing! Made for comfy sleep!😴*CONS*-hotel wasn't prepared to accommodate an "extra blanket" request...lame. Was I supposed to pack an extra 1? No, you're a hotel, you need to be ready for that. The word is Hospitality.-they advertised Queen beds.... I own Queen beds and 1 king... those were Full sized mattresses- not Queens at all. No doubt. Lame.-NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE. NO WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE ENTRANCE AND NO ELEVATOR 🤦🏽‍♀️👎🏽this is a big inconvenience for young families too being that it is so hard to travel light sometimes.-Yumi (manager/front desk lady) I'm just going to say it- this South Asian sister may not like black people 🤣 she was short, condescending, from the start. Cutting me off while I'm giving her my info at check in. Not a fan of rude employees at a hotel-WIFI DRAMA 🤦🏽‍♀️ my phone could connect but my PS4 could not no matter where we moved it and I have never had this issue, this being my 4th hotel this yr. We always travel with the PS4. When we approached Yumi, she basically said it was our problem and was not even interested in fixing it. She said she didn't know anything about PS4s lol but the hotel wifi worked and walked off 🤣 I'm saying this again if it weren't already clear from an earlier Con- Yumi is in the wrong industry. She had no problem with coming off rude, disinterested in our comfort and satisfaction as paying guests to our hotel- Wild!- while I enjoyed having the outdoor staircase balcony thingy, the door didn't require key card access and so if someone wanted, they could walk into the building without being a paying guest 🤨😬 yikes.- bath tub couldn't hold bath water. 🤦🏽‍♀️- our door to our room looked beat up and we had issues getting into our room at time. Like the key card wouldn't catch and at times we had to pull hard for the door to remain closed.-hot breakfast was ok but the breakfast window is too short in my opinion (6-9am) I'm used to 10 & 11 AM cut-offs 🤷🏽‍♀️

Staff was friendly and room appeared clean. Breakfast was disappointing. We stay at Choice Hotels very often and this location was lacking in quality. Pastries and bread was stale, juice tasted spoiled...Cereal, coffee and milk were fine though.

I most likely would have given three stars however a star was removed due to several things. The #1 red flag that something is wrong with the room presents itself when the room is sprayed with a perfume or air freshener so thick it hits you hard when you open the door. Such is the case with my room. While tolerable, once the smell wore off in the morning, I could smell the nasty smell they were trying to cover up. I was unable to determine the root of the odor...and my guesses were dead animal or mold in the wall, someone with extreme body odor rubbed themselves all over the bathroom or the same person wrapped themselves in the shower curtain and hung it back up. I don't know what it was but I could catch a wiff of it every time I went into and out of the bathroom. The room was questionably clean beyond that. I could tell that the ottoman wasn't moved when vacuuming as I could see the chex mix on the floor from the previous person. The room was presentable and usable. I am leary about using unsecure wi-fi and being that other businesses were so close to the hotel, I could pick up their unsecure wifi from my room, I didn't use wifi at all. The staff was very friendly and the location was great and for a quick stay, I may use the hotel again although it will not be my first choice.

This was a nice place. It looked like your typical quality inn. There was nothing wrong with this place nor anything really spectacular about it either. I would have given it 3 stars but the short beautiful indian lady that help me. Was very helpful. With all the questions I had about the area. So she gets a star for being very helpful & knowledgeable.

Staff friendly. Linens/towels stained. Shower curtain dirty on inside. Stain on floor. Questionable electrical decisions. Had to physically lift door to get the deadbolt to latch. Something nasty on the quality assurance card, which ironically sums up this review.
