I’m am writing this in response to Green River Oaks response to my husband Wes Phillip’s review. We can understand having to shock a pool and it’s great you have another, however as far as it being heated, it was most certainly not, as you can see by similar posts from other individuals. Interestingly we were in our camper all Friday night, because there wasn’t much else to do considering the deep pool was too cold and might I also add dirty. We couldn’t ride bikes because they either had flat tires and or no breaks. I even overheard children complaining about them, sure they are free but if you can’t use them who cares how free they are, and we picked up each of us a handful of them to try and they were all in awful shape. Lastly, we might have tried to play pickleball if it wasn’t set aside for the next day’s events. Your web sight claims that you have all these amenities and we were let down in every situation. So yes, we were in our camper all Friday night all you had to do was knock. Lastly my husband didn’t have this in his review but the bathroom and shower house closest to us was in severe need of cleaning, the trash can was full, and needed to be swept and mopped. I figured someone would at least get to it by later evening but we were up early to leave Saturday morning and it still had not been attended to. So I would never wish to camp there again and we gave you 80.00 dollars of hard earned money for the 2 nights we decided were not worth staying for and I’m not a person to waste money. Short and sweet, this place is cozy, filled with good people, good events, activities, and good maintenance year over year (especially most recent years).Full review for those who want the real details:If you’re looking for a Campground that’s in pristine condition or filled with amusement park like attractions then that is not this place ~ Why? Those places come with hefty price tags, overpacked populations, and strict rules.Yes, the website can be updated with most recent amenity conditions but knowing we should not always trust what we read on the internet; pick up a phone and call. The place is ran by honest and good people.Yes, they may be strict in relation to the speed limits of cars but not golf carts but this is for the safety of the hundreds of kids who get to experience outdoors in a way they rarely do in the world we live in today. It is a safe environment with the opportunity for kids to be kids. If the golf carts are moving faster from time to time, then that only equates to more productivity and increased ability to provide quicker service to their guests.Personally, I have been coming to Green River Oaks for nearly 30 years since I was a kid. Now I bring my children multiple times a year and to watch the joy from the freedom alone they get to experience during our stay is priceless. Everyone loves to be a critic because it’s easy, but taking the time to look for the beauty and share it with others is overlooked far too often these days. We can choose to see the bad or choose to see the good. While no place is perfect, I would share from my experience that this place is special and it has unique potential to help shift how one chooses to view what is most important/precious in life.

The owner and her goons are very confrontational. We were harassed by her while leaving the campsite to pick some things up from a nearby gas station. While minding our own business and going less than 5 MPH. We were yelled at by the owner to slow down. I was there for 1 night and all I heard were people at the front yelling at cars to slow down (none of which were going fast). I have kids and nephews and neices there and would be upset if I felt cars were going fast. The reviews you see about the owner are true!My advice would be if you decide to camp here bring your golf cart so you can whip around like their staff. If you decide to drive a car get out and push it in the campsite and you may be able to avoid getting assaulted.0 stars!

I really liked this campground. There was a lot of activities. 2 pools, lagoon for fishing, volleyball, tennis, baseball, basketball, rec hall and miniature golf. They also had walking trails and they had bikes the kids could use while camping (they were weathered but the kids didn't seem to mind). This campground was clean, friendly and quiet. The staff were helpful and all the other campers were friendly. The store had cute camping knickknacks, shirts, blankets, food items and of course slushes and more. We will definitely go back.

*This is my personal opinion--not representative of my entire large family, so please don't ban my entire family from returning because of my personal negative experiences at your campground*We have been coming here for 5-7 years, I can’t remember exactly. I have been let down with our experience most years. The workers here fly through on their golf carts going 15+ mph, but SCREAM at a car if it goes 7 or 8 mph (and yes we watch the speedometer). They also don't police the bicycles at all who like to fly through, cutting people off.We have had issues with them mowing the playground going WAY too fast, mowing over rocks, shooting them out AT kids playing on the playground. The camp sites are uneven, and there are huge areas with no grass leaving only sand and mud. I’m currently handicapped because of an injury and it’s incredibly hard to navigate because of the uneven ground. One year we had no electricity all day long, then the next day lost it again for a couple hours. It seems like with as large of a campground as this is, generators would be on site in case of an all-day outage like that. The water-tank staff this year continued spraying the pickup-bed full of children (some older kids, some as young as 3) even after the little ones started crying because they did NOT want to be sprayed. This year we were disappointed in the pool maintenance, but this was apparently due to the death of their maintenance head, so that's understandable. The deep pool was ok, but very cold, and too deep for little kids. The shallow pool had to be closed for shocking for part of our stay which was a big bummer for our kids.I, personally, will not be returning.

Great place! Happy medium between a big chain campground and a state park. Clean bathrooms! It is mainly RVs and only small are for tents camp. My kids had a great time and well so did we🙂 i had a huge concern in regards to all the negative comments about owners and staff being rude and getting yelled about going over speed limit (5mph) which honestly i was ok with. No one was rude to us and everyone seem very nice. Did hear owner yell once or twice at cars but as a parent with 2young children i appreciated this very much and even was happy this rule is enforced! Because of this i felt comfortable with my kids riding bikes and walking to the park on their own!!!Bikes are free to just use!!!! Love this!!!Totally planning on returning soon!!!

Pros:-The kids and dog had fun in the river, where there is 3’ of space to sit chairs.-Stuff for kids to do.-They appear to be planting more trees.Cons:-$70/night with 2 night min. Our relatives couldn’t tent camp for one night, yet the campground was empty on Sunday. $70 seems steep compared to other campgrounds that we have stayed at with views of Lake Huron and nicely wooded spacious spots.-They are air horn happy which is plain rude when you are going 7mph on your way OUT of the park and have passed the area where kids play. Blowing the horn with a sign to slow down is just ridiculous when people are pretty darn close to 5mph.-We had hammocks hanging on the trees and the owner asked us (nicely at first) to take them down. He said that it’s in the rules we got in an email. It is not. It is on the map rules, which we did not read because we didn’t need the map. If there are rules to know they should be shared verbally at check-in. When my husband said we didn’t see rules the owner said, “so I guess you make up your own rules”.-We had family come for dinner. When we went to check them in, the office was closed. They did not answer the phone when I called. When the owner asked us to move our hammocks he asked about the cars without tags. When we said they came for dinner his response was, “you may as well invite the whole town”.-The owner is rude. There are ways to talk to people. Why own a campground when you lack human decency in conversation? Please keep in mind that we were the only temporary campers around were being respectful and quiet.-I emailed 2-3 times without response. Called at least 6 times before getting ahold of anyone for a reservation.-Our campsite was in the mud.I’ll spend my money elsewhere.

Love this campground! We'll definitely be back. The staff is absolutely great, so friendly and kind. The activities were a blast for the kids. There was so many amenities to enjoy. The tractor ride was a blast! They have free bikes for kids to use all weekend. The sites were large and very nice!My only complaint is I wish there were "quiet hours" since the camper near us were having a rager your until 3:00a. Normally my AC drowns out all noises, but I could literally feel the base from their music. I'll still be back, and hopefully that was just an unlucky experience.

We recently stayed at Green River Oaks Camping Resort (August 13th - 15th) and we enjoyed our stay. Overall the campground was kept up well. This resort is primarily seasonal spots with a few overnight camping. The site we stayed at was level and hook ups were taken care of. Staff was super friendly. Accommodations were adequate. Pools were older but clean. Bath houses were small but there were several of them. Lots of activities to participate in. The weekend we were there they had Bingo and it was a $1 a bingo card and my kids loved it. They also had an astronomy night in which we were able to see the Moon, Saturn and Jupiter through a high power telescope. There were bikes that were available to use during the weekend which was a nice touch. Everyone there seemed to be having a great time. Would definitely stay here again. Full hookups were $70 per night.

When we first looked up this place, we saw all the reviews about the owners. Of course we had optimism and assumed there were just bad apples or people who are overly sensitive. Well unfortunately we should have listened to the reviews. The owners are actually insanely rude which ruined the trip for us. No matter how beautiful a place is, if the owners don’t understand how to approach or talk with customers in a calm respectful way then it just ruins the whole place! We didn’t do anything to provoke their uncalled for attitudes with us. And the owners should seriously take a course on how to treat paying customers. It seems like they only care about revenue and not how the customers experience will go, otherwise they wouldn’t have all these bad reviews. Just because you own the place doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have the decency to treat people kindly.

We booked a week stay at a rental unit. Check in the Thursday night. They gave us activities schedule. Had a Saturday night cook out. Cool. Got inline to wait to eat. Made it to the door only to be told we could not eat because we was not on the prerister list. She stated it was on the activities schedule. Not it wasn't on the schedule. How was we supposed to know?

Be prepared to be governed and attacked. I may not have been doing under 5 MPH at the entrance but it didn't warrant the 20 MPH golf cart with an air horn coming to my campsite and the telling off. We are at the very 1st campsite and I passed not one person. We immediately left do to the harassment.

Just visited this campground and what rude inconsiderate owners. When we first arrived the water hooks-ups were leaking or should I say spraying and there were holes in the ground big enough for someone to step in and sprain and ankle. They did come and fix the water leak and threw dry dirt in the holes and it was a mess. I politely asked one of the help to please address the old broken down playground equipment they have for the kids because it was unsafe, screws were missing and boards were broken. The mini put area hadn't been taken care of in years, and the fishing lake was full of weeds. What really pushed me over the edge is when we bought a $2 squirt gun for our son, I took it back because we filled it up and the trigger broke and the lady got furious with me saying all I was doing was complaining. She even sent 1 of her staff to go get her sons and be confrontational with me. Real classy. Needless to say we left the follow day and I suggest nobody use their park. Please pass this along to everyone, this place needs new ownership.

There are so many activities and fun things for the kids to do there and play with there. Your weekend will be SUPER busy trying to do them all. It's a fun placeNearby activities: Off the top we got to play mini golf, video games, pool, and foosball, play at the playground, the jump pad, go swimming, tons of free bikes of all sizes and camp. But there was still fishing, volleyball, basketball. Tennis, and stuff to do on the river and MORE. There was so much to do we n

Tons to do for kids, including 2 pools, playgrounds, bicycles (just grab one you like!), twilight fishing in the river, hiking, etc. Also, there are lots of long-term sites, so it's really a community, but even for a weekender, it's great. Yes, there are rules, but they make it a safe, fun time for everyone.

I see the bad reviews on here, and I have to comment. There are new owners and they are being blamed for the incompetence of the previous owner. We've been camping and seasonal campers here for many years. My husband grew up camping here also. Over the years, this poor campground had suffered at the hands of an ungrateful son, who wanted nothing to do with it and only kept it open to keep his aging mother happy. Continuous neglect of buildings, restrooms and showers, no activities, etc., gave campers a bad taste and word got out. No campers = no money. No money = no upkeep. Thankfully, the campground was saved by the new owners, who are only into their second summer of ownership. We've all heard, Rome wasn't built in a day. The same goes for this campground. The improvements that have been made so far are tremendous, with others planned for the future, including mini golf. My family and I camp here and will continue to do so and watch this campground become an even better one once again.

We’ve visited a few times now and decided this fall to take a seasonal spot. The owners and staff were so helpful explaining the process and getting us setup! We have met some great people and cannot wait for next season.

I was the guest of a seasonal RVer. I was there the day the RV was parked then returned about a month later again as a guest, It was not more than 10 minutes when this lady (I assume one of the owners) came riding up on a golf cart and had this look of rage on her (we were still unloading the car and setting up). She scolded all of us because we did not check in first. It turns out the neighbors are busy bodies and every time someone enters the camp they tell call the management to complain. The entire weekend I was there we were quite, kept to ourselves and yet we still seemed to be the bad guys for whatever reason. As a guest I felt unwelcomed. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless maybe you tent camp, that could be a different experience

Lots of rules when you register, but NONE enforced, except wear a mask in the store. Late night parties, that you have to call to get them stopped as owners "don't hear it". Then one of the owners complained to my husband that we said we would not stay here again. Very large. If you like many planned activities for your kids so you can stay up half the night getting drunk, you''ll want to camp here.

I like the grounds. However the owner/ management was rude to one of my fellow campers about his son stopping by for the day to visit. Also they where yelled at for being in the wrong spot, and they were in the correct spot circled on the map. Really no need to be rude to paying clients. They lost 5 guests due to management behavior.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Their are 2 pools advertised, 1 is functional (not heated) The shower water smelled like sewage. Also advertised pickleball, courts present, 0 nets. The free bikes offered for transportation should probably be in a dump. After speaking with the person at the desk they informed us we probably wouldn't get a refund, leaving early. Don't waste your time or gas to camp here.

Under new ownership! They are working out the bugs and doing a fine job at it! Very helpful family oriented staff! Plenty of room and they are working on fixing up previous owners mistakes and lack of maintenance. No firepits but owner explained that most people either run over or are not happy with the placement of rings so they let you choose the location!Nice place!
