I was buying fried chicken at the deli counter about 5:45pm ( a 12 piece), the guy said there wasn’t enough, would I like some of them baked. I asked if more was coming up and he said no. Mind you I’m standing next to a sign saying they serve until 7pm!As irritated as I am, I went with mixed because I didn’t want to make a scene, but I’m far from happy. The quality was good though and that’s the only reason I gave the stars

Clean and well stocked. Many varieties of name brands and generics comparable in quality with lower prices. Many meat selections were on sale and staff were distributed throughout the store for service to customers. The floor was clean and the staff were friendly.

I was in the area for a wedding and decided to swing in here for some snacks for my hotel. Store is very nice overall. Has similar aisle configurations to other Schnucks stores I have been in. Produce section looked very well maintained and produce looked fresh. Cashier and bagger were friendly and provided excellent customer service. They had plenty of lanes open too for checkout which was nice. Did not have to wait in line at all. The store seemed to be well stocked of all items. That you would normally find here.

Clean & great customer service! Good meat selection. The only downside is all the employees and customers smoking right next to the entrance bc I'm allergic to cigarette smoke and the really unpleasant smelling homeless man that sits inside the entrance on the bench(I feel so sorry for him but the smell is atrocious)

Great selection of Gluten Free products! Anything you need they have it! They even have Scooters coffee in a bag! Best store ever!

Fiancee went here the other day...shopped a few items and went to self checkout...she had maybe 14 items...most of which were kool aid packets..sign said beginning soon 10 items or less only...so not yet...a female employee felt it necessary to get snippy and tell her soon you will not be able to do any more than 10 items or the macines will cancel the sale...ok so what? Right?....i myself decided to shop at this location after the 10 item thing went into effect and after the snippy business...personally i think i should be checked out and avoid the self checkout like the plague but i can see the convenience in having them...we go in get stuff for a pork chop dinner..its 12 items so awesome im going to a checker...the line was a mile long because theres only one checker working out of 14 lanes and nobody can use the self checkout because of the new policy..took us 20 minutes in line..not shopping at this location anymore

I love how neat, quiet, and organized cthe store is. Everything was easy to find. I was doing an instacart order that had 50 items and I only had to call the clerk over twice for clarification of where something was. I'm from Missouri so I was a great distance from stores I'm more familiar with and this store really gave me a great first impression. Hope I get more orders here for whenever I come back out this way.

I like the quality of their products, but the technology and not being able to find out what is in the store or the prices ahead of time since the stores prices are higher than the other ones around in the area is a downside for me! I also like to get my meats here so I call ahead of time to see they have them, but if they upgrade the internet to include that I would not have to interrupt the meat department.Since they put in the self check out the customer service and management is in that area and they don't give much help or accept bill payments.

I want to leave a review for the person that works in the bakery. Those white chocolate macadamia nut cookies are the best I've EVER had!! And that croissant covered in icing in the donut cabinet is out of this world! 5 stars for the cook!!!

I was just on the phone with my mother who is 72 and the male pharmacist yelled at her. If I could jump through that phone I would i have. A few things in life I'm sure everyone does not play about. Mothers is one of them. She just was telling him she was going to be put of town and this dude had no right to raise his voice at her. Not sure what they guy name wad but next time she goes I'm riding with her.

Deli has gone downhill since Covid. Prices are laughably rivaling the far superior (and cleaner) Dierberg's and Whole Foods levels. Unless there is a decent sale, I generally have started doing my grocery shopping elsewhere.

It's pretty clean and most of the time the people that work there are helpful. The only thing that keeps you from giving him a higher star is the fact that that nine times out of 10 I will have to go to another store for something on my list. And I understand supply chain issues but it seems like it's stuff that other places have so it can't be a supply-chain issue I would think.

Favorite place to buy groceries.. Love the deli and selection.. Also love that they will batter and fry your fresh fish order which males it great for potlucks and gatherings.. I recommend calling ahead for large fish orders.. Also join the rewards program.. I have literally got hundreds of dollars in free shnucks bucks by doing so and have saved even more cash with their digital coupons.

One of the better grocery stores in the Alton area. Meat is usually good quality, prices are sometimes high but competitive to neighboring places, mostly fair. Best place to find an alcohol selection in Alton besides crossing the river to Dirt Cheap or somewhere else. Positive experience.

Don't get me started on my $30 Deli meats order. I asked for thin cut meat, and ended up with way, way too thick slices of Boars Head London Broil, Pastrami, and Honey Turkey! What part of "thin cut" wasn't understood?!

They always have my favorite baked goods that I can't find anywhere else. The deli has great food and a nice selection. Every single employee that I have spoken to has been extremely helpful, polite, and very friendly. There is one employee there that stands out amongst the rest because of how helpful and personable he is, he's always stocking shelves, working hard and never hesitates to stop what he's doing and help me find items in any Department. He is very pleasant and humorous which makes the shopping experience more enjoyable. He said it's an example for all the employees there and I believe employees everywhere need to be more like him.

My rating is for Shnucks brand ice cream. It's so good! I've tried Black Raspberry Dark Chocolate Chunk and Lemon Tart. I can't wait to try more flavors. Go get some!
