Beautiful pottery shop full of wonderful and collectible pieces! I find the most unique gifts here for birthdays, weddings, hostess gifts, and new homes. They feature excellent photo art, jewelry, local honey, handmade cards (better & cheaper than Papyrus!), pet treats, and other treasures by local artists. Well worth a visit!

Love this place, great high quality pottery. The artists are really friendly and happy to show you around the studio. I appreciate the dedication and creativity involved in the creation of the beautiful bowls, plates, cups, and other fun things. We have so many lovely creations in our cabinets. My wife and daughter are big fans of MMP. Through the years they have bought all kinds of quality pottery. There is a studio upstairs where artwork from local artists are for sale. The people who operate the register operate the pottery wheel and kilns. We enjoy seeing what new designs are displayed. Good people - highly recommended!

Excellent quality and even better customer service! I had to hunt this place down during Covid 19 for yearly teacher appreciation gifts since the stay at home order shut down our artisan fair. They were friendly and shipped fast!! Highly recommend!! (shamrocks are our mascot)

Loved my visit here! They have such beautiful pottery in such great colors and patterns for reasonable prices. The girl working was so friendly and pleasant. It is hard to come by good customer service lately but this place is fantastic. And it's their 40th year in business which is on the bottom of the spoon rest I purchased. I can't imagine a trip to Alton without stopping here. Highly recommend!

Lots of really cool stuff, especially considering that the building is fairly small looking. Not only is there very interesting pottery but there are art works and fun people to talk with. Worth the stop.

Owner gave us a tour of the business, and explained a lot of how things are done there. Very knowledgeable and friendly, and answered all our questions. Many beautiful creations on hand and for sale. Loved it!

I wanted to stop by MMP at Grafton, IL, for many, many months. Finally, I did pull off the highway and visited the store. I liked the authentic and creative pottery wares. However, I expected greater variation in the art works offered throughout the 2-story building. Apparently what I saw on the shelves and walls is what sells best and fast to tourists. Or, maybe the higher-end ($$$$) and one-of-a-kind "Mississippian" pottery was already sold. I dunno. I'll stop by again in 2022 and see what's changed.

Despite growing up in Godfrey, I never went to this place until two years ago. I've been four times and every time I have bought at least one item. Beautiful pottery in an assortment of styles with an understated section of photos and prints.

Felicia and Chad seem very keen to make sure the customer gets the right product at a reasonable price. We have shopped at Mississippi Mud for more than 20 years. Just like the prior owners, they seem like good business people.

Wonderful staff making and selling cool pottery, dishes, mugs, and other stuff. I had a mug from there and loved it dearly. Until my roommate broke it into about 30 shards. Can't wait til I get back up to Alton and buy another one.

My husband surprised me with a handmade tea pottery cup set of 4 - in the bluest ocean cerulean hue...after nearly 20 years residing here, we are moving to Hawaii and these little cups will forever remind us of our river home. They are cherished. The staff here are wonderfully creative and I love knowing they are part of our Alton community.

This is a great secret of Alton 😳 Anyone who enjoys pottery should visit. From the practical, to whimsical, to more of a sculptural/art feel, their potters put out a little bit of everything. And it seems like there is always something new to capture the attention.
