Lots of arts and crafts and toys and items for every age - baby to adult.In addition, they are always open to suggestions and seem to work hard to stock things people ask for or are nostalgic for!Bring your kids, bring your adults!! Visit Funky Planet Toys and Gifts for an awesome day. If you’re not from Alton, it’s worth a trip to visit! There are so many great businesses and eateries in town to make a day of adventure.

We visit Funky Planet several times a month, if not several times a week. There is always something new to check out. This store is truly an interactive experience. The owners are wonderful and so knowledgeable about everything they have in store. They even offer knitting classes!! We will definitely keep coming back!!

This shop is amazing! They have all kinds of toys, games, craft supplies and books. Some of their toys are from my childhood…slinky, Spirograph, woopie cushions, etc. plus they have a lot of educational toys. Prices are very reasonable. I have purchased some really cool things there. If you haven’t been there yet, you don’t know what you’re missing!!

Wow, I love this gem of a store! I came here while visiting family, and I wish Funky Planet was in my town. The couple who own it are passionate about toys and super knowledgeable and helpful about their stock. Kids could spend hours here with the toys, building sets, games, a retro coin-operated car, and an arcade game! There are very affordable choices and unique items. I could find a gift for every person I know, no matter what their age. It’s so much better than big box stores and online shopping. And the store is so cute!

The reviews are just as accurate as you’re hoping they’ll be. Stopped in to scope it out for when my nephews visit and walked out with a bag full of goodies. A wonderful gem and the toy store you imagined as a child.

A fun store for both kids and adults with all sorts of different games, toys, books, etc. The selection varies ranging from commonly seen items, to unusual rarely seen things, to stuff I’ve never seen anywhere ever before. These kinds of shops are getting increasingly rare and hard to find, so appreciate and be grateful for getting to have this store since there are very few others quite like it.

We love this mini golf set we got it in January and play with it all the time We set up and build our own courses!! We play with whole family!! We loved our Christmas presents We got tons of fidgety and the are awesome. We love there store great. They have great quality!!! They are the best!!!!

Great little shop, has lots of older toys that still have a place in today's world. I'm 41 and I recognized toys I used to play with at my grandparents house that belonged to my parents when they were kids. Even if you don't have kids, the nostalgia trip is worth checking this shop out.

Our absolute favorite local Alton business. Seriously you do not need to have a kid to have a good time here, they have all kinds of fun little keychains and stickers and toys :) you can find something for anyone who likes fun at this shop. Couldn't recommend more 11/10

This is such a fun store to be in. There are toys and games to satisfy most individuals. I really love how they have a "play station"; to play with certain toys that they have set out. It is a small location, but, they have lots to offer.

This store is FUN (for all ages)! I'm not a big shopping-kind-of-guy but I like to shop here. I see new stuff every time I go in and it's really interesting to explore. Sage and David encourage you to take your time and will even let you try out many of the games. I can hardly wait until my granddaughter is old enough to go there with me.

We love the fun super stadium baseball game and the Fidgets. We received a pop it purse and a sequin purse, which are also awesome. They sell really cool toy planets which have slime inside them, SO fun. Their store definitely sells high quality products and I absolutely love the toys and gifts from Funky Planet. I recommend this store highly.

It's a wonderful privately owned toy store. It is full of quality toys. It brought me back to being a kid. No junk sold in this toy store! So much great stuff! A lot of it I had not seen or thought of in years. The staff are very friendly. If you are ever in Alton do yourself a favor, visit this toy store. Even if you don't "need" anything. Because just visiting & seeing all of theses great toys would put anyone in a good mood. 😊

It was a great toy store without all the cheap box store toys. They actually carry the stretch Armstrong of my childhood. Sage was polite and friendly and was knitting a great looking tomato.

This store is amazing. There’s stuff for every age. I bought cute hang-ons and sticker books for my granddaughters. Miniatures for my collection plus toys for my grandson. The plush toy collection is awesome. The minute you walk in, you know you are in trouble, because of the vast amount of interesting items. Can’t wait to go back.

My friends & I have been waiting to finally get the opportunity to come check this place out as we had only ever heard positive reviews from people we know. Unfortunately when we finally had gotten the chance to stop in, we were met with only a negative experience. We all were just walking around and talking about all the things they had there that we haven’t seen in years and even had a couple small conversations with the store associate regarding some of the items. This associate (I believe maybe the owner?) was a tall dark blonde white man. When we were all finishing up checking out he immediately started accusing us on opening an item and refused to listen when we told him politely it hadn’t been any of us. We asked him to check the cameras and he refused to in that moment and made us pay for the item none of us did anything to. I believe it is important to note that my group & I are all visibly queer individuals and we do not believe this was just a coincidence. We came into the store near the end of the day and multiple other people were in the store at the same time as us but he DEMANDED it had been one of us. He insisted one of us had opened the item, not even stealing. We were accused of OPENING an item. He had the figure on the counter with the packaging. He said he knew it had to be one of us because he had been walking around the store all day which we then realized he had been following us and checking 90% of anything we looked at. Didn’t do this to a single other customer while we were shopping. Do better.

Would not recommend for unfortunate reasons because this had potential to be a good store.Me and my three friends were super excited to go here, we walked around for a bit and talked about the random niche things they had from our childhood and we picked up random sensory toys etc. However, our experience quickly took a turn when the person running the front accused us of opening a mystery pack of toys when none of us had opened it. He didn’t ask if we had opened it, he said that we opened it and refused to continue to ring out our items or give us something that I had already paid for until we paid for the opened toy. Yet again, none of us opened it. None of us were stealing. He refused to listen to us and didn’t bother asking the other customers in the store if they had possibly been the ones to open it. They had cameras and I asked him repeatedly to look them over and he refused to do it then and insisted it was us. All of us are queer presenting so we’re going to assume that had a play in that. Don’t accuse your customers of breaking/tampering with merchandise without any proof and force them to pay for something that they hadn’t opened. We didn’t even bother taking the toy we paid for.For man who ‘helped’ us: I’m not unfamiliar with how proceedings go in retail when you are under the assumption that a customer is stealing and/or tampering with merchandise. You didn’t even ASK if we had been the ones who did it, you assumed and treated it like it was 100% facts. You had the option to check the cameras, why didn’t you? That would have proven us right then and there. How you handled that was completely unprofessional and was humiliating to have that done in front of other customers. Don’t even try to reply to this saying that you checked and saw it was us. I don’t care about the four dollars. Just do better. I think all of us would really appreciate an apology.

Had been excitingly waiting to go check this store out. Finally got the opportunity to go today and was accused of opening an item. The clerk did not ask if we had done it, but instead insisted that it was our group and would not listen to us when we denied it. We asked him to check the cameras, to which he refused. We were made to pay for the item. Never shopping here again.
