With all we did on the Idaho Backcountry Discovery Route, the stop in Yellow Pine, Idaho was a true highlight to the trip. Josh, the owner of the Yellow Pine General Store and Motel showed the utmost hospitality - along with the rest of the town. We stayed at the General Store Motel (Josh's rooms), and the rooms were just what we needed after some long travels. I'm rating the rooms as a 5 star because it was an experience like not other - it's not the Hilton, but it's absolutely awesome. Comfortable, clean and just a relaxing atmosphere. Food, fuel and accommodations with a personal touch is what you'll find here. Also, thanks for pointing us towards the brisket sandwich at the Corner. Yummm! Another mention, late night pizza is an option across the street - great memories.

Great store with a new owner getting it up and running again. Has fuel as well, and 2 guest rooms. Owner is an Adventure Motorcycle Rider and will have some basic bike and camping supplies as well. Well worth the trip and a beautiful drive.

Staying here was the best night of our 5 day trip on the IDBDR. Josh was great, accommodating and a great hang around the fire. We’re on our way there tomorrow for another round of good times.

We showed up during our IDBDR journey low on gas. The store was without power and very low on gas but they hooked up a generator to the pump and gave us a few gallons of fuel. Outstanding and friendly service. I cannot wait to visit again.

Visited there today. Josh was very informative and friendly. Do wonder how an Auburn grad got to Yellow Pine. Stop and see him. Good variety of goods available.

Josh is awesome! Best place for fuel, and a nice cool bottle of water in Yellowpine. If you need the hard stuff, you'll have to go across the street.

I stayed in one of the rooms behind the General Store in early June. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a great deck off the room to enjoy the view. Great location!!

The proprietor Steve and his family were warm and friendly, very welcoming and helpful, and went out of their way for us. We felt as if we'd been adopted into the town family!

A small store in the middle of nowhere. They don't have a huge selection of items, but you can find the necessities. Beer, wine, snacks, some canned goods, dehydrated meals and MREs. Minor medical and personal hygiene items as well.
