"If we don't have it, you don't need it!" is the motto on their uniforms and they wear it with pride. You can't get this kind of "small town" customer service anywhere in a 20 mile radius but here(believe me, I've tried). All of the employees here have a complete "customers first" mentality and it shows, they'll even help you if theyre off the clock! Come try here before you go to a big box store in town, or drive all the way to eagle for hardware/lumber. They have it all at the merc. even liquor!

They seemingly have EVERYTHING from lettuce to irrigation heads. The staff are the most friendly and helpful I have ever encountered. We frequent this place and I even bought t-shirts that I wear proudly. Even the dog likes going to the MERC. A one-stop shop.

love filling up a full tank of gas at this store is very clean and a professional I always considered stopping at this store over the others because of the staff and that their convenience store is so stopped up with all the convenient things that I need on the way home thank you for being professional and considerate to people like us I will continue to visit this establishment in the future

Love the friendly employee's! The merc is easy to get through the well organized isles and the shelves are always stocked well. The hot food isn't bad either! Definitely an asset to our community

With all the building and competition going on around your store I would highly recommend getting your sidewalks, walkways and gas area washed and cleaned. It looks horrible

All I can say is that I having been going to the Merc for over 20+ years...and this is an Idaho owned business you can get everything from bolts, propane, bread, fresh veggies, duct tape and if can't find it ask!!

Love this down-home, small town store. It's an easy go-to for everything under the sun...plus fresh vegetables! Everytime I walk in someone says hello right away and if I am wandering around and have no idea where something is (clamps for sprinkler lines) they always notice and not only direct me to the proper aisle, but accompany me and help me find exactly what I need. Friendly, fast and fantastic!

Love this place!! Reminds me of a small town general store I grew up with in Omak Washington. A little bit of everything and that's what I like about this store. A little bit of my childhood store tucked away in a small town store.Had exactly what I needed to finish a couple projects without having to head to a big box store miles away.

Staff is friendly, service is fast. You feel at home walking in as they treat you as a friend instead of a customer. Can find things on sale sometimes. Staff knows where things are immediately. Just generally a good old fashion Merc!

This is a cool mom and pop store where the prices are a little higher than your typical market but you can get just about anything. It reminds you you're in a small town. The people are friendly and very helpful. They'll go out of their way to make sure you're taken care of.

They're always friendly, and clean with multiple items and a wide selection for such a small town. They are a little more expensive but EVERY small town is, so everything you would expect plus freindly staff. I live almost 20 minutes away and they are my go to place in the evening

Everyone who lives in Star likely already knows what Star Merc is, but for those visiting or passing through, its a pretty robust store that provides for a lot of typical needs. This store has plenty of food, many different alcohol varieties, and even tools/outdoor things. Its pretty much the only major store in Star. Its probably got what you're looking for, if its a common item.

This is a small grocery and hardware store combo in Star. Though its not the first place I go to do grocery shopping, when I'm in a pinch they usually have it. I've been pleasantly surprised many time, silently cheering that I don't have to go somewhere else and best of all, they have a liquor section. YAY Staff is always super friendly and helpful too.

They got a good selection of stuff but the inside definitely isn't kept in tip top shape. Can't blame them though, lots of people go through here since it's still a pretty good store

It's the only place in Star where you can get a decently selection of groceries and not have to drive to Eagle or Middleton. There is a Bi Mart but the seletion there is actually worse. The place is old and weird and everything is overpriced except the little liquor store they have and beer. The service is hit or miss. You may get the salty older woman or the younger nice girl. It's not great but it'll do in a pinch ya know?

Nice little town with one older store well kept. Sales are Gasoline. Hardware. Groceries.Friendly people. Not a large variety of anything. The only thing missing is a Potbelly Stove to rest your feet on.The grocery side of things you can make do with what they got.

Merc is the best. Better than any big box store. Inside does need remodeling, but the people that work here are awesome and merc always has what we need, especially that 🍺🍻🥃

This store has saved me a trip to a big store 7 miles away so many times. The cashiers are super friendly. The Star Merc has the two famous Idaho candy bars that no one in town carries. Idaho Spud and Owyhee Cherry Cocktail aremy hubbies favorite candy bars and Star Merc carries them.

Star Mercantile ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The next time you are passing through star, Idaho and have some time to spare, I recommend you check out this interesting store. Owner Gary Shermer will do his best to convince you he's the oldest living stock boy, but his shelves are well curated and full of unique products, often presented with a delightful sense of humor (i.e. Biscuits and Gravy Kit). Highly Recommended!!!

Star Merc is exactly how you would imagine an old style country merc. It's warm and inviting with excellent customer service. Plus it has a liquor section and they are open until 22:00.
